We're not done yet. I kinda figured we'd end up seeing the game closed on the 30th but I think City of Heroes could still rise like a phoenix again. APB made a return, after all.

I dare say NCSoft is hoping this will placate us and make us go away. Sadly, we're not going anywhere. We'll be playing City of Heroes to the end and when you do pull the plug we won't be good little rabbits and move to another NCSoft product, we'll just leave.

Trying CoH at a friend's, making a midget energy tank, exploring Atlas and getting into fights with enemies far stronger then me and getting regularly saved, which led me to create my own account

I remember trying to get from one end of the Hollows to the other using only Hover, then getting killed when I landed.

Did an all tank and 1 blaster (which was me) Numina TF and me and a friend got separated. We cleared half the map before we found the others again

Seeing those Colossus for the first time in the ITF was quite the sight.

It's been a blast, positively an explosion. You've given me the blaster mindset for life!

Maybe it should be simple. Heroes never die so how can you end on fighting. Maybe heroes flying, running and jumping into a sunset, on to face whatever challenges await them?

that is a very interesting question. CoH was my first MMO and it's far outlived my time on WoW, Champions, DC Universe, STO and SW:TOR.

Maybe it's the creative freedom in character design or the fun combat, but if it's anything it's always been the people and I doubt I'll ever find a better bunch on any other game.

I defiantly wouldn't be who I am if I didn't have City of Heroes. Thank you for in my case 7 fantastic years filled with great people and great memories.

I'm not sure what to feel. I'm angry and I'm sad. CoH and the people playing it have really made me who I am and made me realize the sort of creative streak I have.
I'd like NCSoft to know I am very disappointed and I hope they will do something to keep the game going as long as possible or maybe ensure a sequel is made.
If this is the end, however, I'd like Paragon Studios to know that they have given me years of fun and fond memories and I'd like to thank everyone I've met on Defiant for being generally awesome.

Hope to see you all on the streets of Paragon and the Rogue Isles soon!

full re-install and exactly the same issue, though now it's not even loading the splash screen...

I've only played CoH on this laptop (Dell XPS M1530, running Windows 7 32 bit) and so far as I can tell I've not got this PMB thing installed. Certainly haven't been prompted to install it at any point

I'm giving the full re-install of the launcher and game a shot, see if I'm lucky and it does work.

Since the update yesterday, I've been having trouble getting into the game. During most attempts to load, the launcher starts and everything loads up to the log in screen, when the game stops responding (occasionally, it happens before getting to the log in screen).

For whatever reason, it's dead to the world so I shut it down and try again. Only this time, the launcher then fails to launch the game, instead stuck saying 'launching City of Heroes'. It doesn't launch the game and the launcher then can't be shut down through either clicking the X or trying to end the process. I'm getting this issue with both the Live client and the Beta client and it's only rarely letting me on.

Any suggestions?

I think you should do a Nemesis pony. He's one for conquering alternate Earths after all so he's probably got his eye on the place by now. After all, he could just brainwash everyone who watches FIM and double his army in no time at all.

After playing for years, I can say my original character remains my favourite.

Black WildFire - Fire/Energy Blaster

There's not many spawns that last long against him, and even if they do get close they get a face full of energy punches. And even if he does go down, he just self-rezes and carries on.

Besides him, it's difficult to say which are my next few favourites. I'm loving my Kin/Ninjitsu stalker (Nite Fury), Axe/WP brute (Gahgnar), StJ/Invul Scrapper (David Hatson/Bando) and MA/SR scrapper (Kung Fu Cat, plus her 2nd version with SF) but I can't put them in any order at the moment...

Still, ALL THE FIRE DAMAGE!!

I've got a bigger question: If Sister Psyche's in the Dilemma Diabolique trial, does that mean she may make a return? After all, States isn't in it either, so I'd assume the whole DA arc and trial took place after the first SSA.

yes, some of the new Tsoo bosses have staff fighting. It's not really a leak, though I am a bit annoyed we're still waiting for SF. Speaking of which, anyone know why Beast Mastery came out before SF when SF was announced well in advance of BM being known about?

A friend pointed out we now know who the mysterious hero in white and red is, but I just noticed there are 2 well known heroes absent from the image. If we go up against Wade in the final part, will Manticore sacrifice himself?

What side do you pick more than others?
Mostly heroes, I think the split is about 55-45 or something. Have a couple praetorians knocking around, but haven't been bothered to play that content in a while now.

What play style do you prefer?
Mostly melee of some discription, gotten into Brutes a lot recently. Most of my 50s are scrappers, mind, but I still love my original fire/energy blapper to bits

What power set(s) do you favor?
Don't really favor one type of power over the other.

What zones do you like the most?
No one zone really stands out to me. Faultline and Croatoa are both pretty good, though.

Do you usually play as a male or female (word of hatred) ''toon''?
About an equal split between males and females.

Views on Role Playing?
Depends who I'm playing with. I've developed lengthy stories for pretty much all my characters but rarely use them outside a core group of RPers.

Servers?
Pretty much exclusively Defiant. Occasionally pop onto Virtue if the mood strikes me.

The character I ran SSA #5 with first is a full natural (alien) martial artist, though she's so good and so fast most humans, as well as several of her own species, arn't convinced she isn't super powered. So really in Darrin's mind, anyone who's better then the norm is a super and there for bad. It's a pretty massive inferiority complex and I doubt a bit of magically enhanced strength would satisfy him, hence his aim to possess *SPOILER!!*

Red Catman looks extremely pleased with himself.
I like Furmi's layed back look too. Good thing he's sat down, he'd dwarf them all otherwise (he is a full 8ft ingame).
