Darrin Wade and you

As far as I can tell, Darrin Wade's goal is not so much achieving ultimate power as it is keeping up with the trend. Much like Malaise, Wade would be perfectly happy in a world without superpowers. The one thing he will never accept is to be the guy without superpowers in a superpowered world.

Would you?

Me or my in game character? In game, my main is just a guy who happens to be good with an assault rifle, and he just happens to know a couple of other guys who ALSO use rifles. He's also very good at convincing people that they don't hurt near as much as they think they do. Merc/Pain. Me personally? Eh. I'd live my life the same as always, and just...try to avoid any situations with people who had superpowers.

I wouldn't care about not having superpowers, and I would move away from Paragon City ASAP because that place is a poophole of crime. Someplace like Oklahoma sounds good. No supers, no ubermensch, no invading extradimensional critters...

Maybe not Oklahoma, though, cos there's not much of ANYTHING in Oklahoma.....

That's a popular misconception that originated where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain. On the plus side, however, the wavin' wheat can sure smell sweet when the wind comes right behind the rain.

In answer to the original question, I'd adopt the same approach as Aggelakis. While I'd probably be beneath the notice of most supers, the odds of becoming collateral damage in their ongoing battles are ridiculously high.

If I was a 20 or 30 years younger, however, I'd consider joining some of the NPC organizations that can make "normals" a bit more formidable. (i.e. Longbow, Wyvern, Legacy Chain, etc.)

I would probably move out of Paragon, and get all over magical study. Maybe Legacy chain, maybe mu, maybe just good ol' fashion book learning, but I would get magic!

The character I ran SSA #5 with first is a full natural (alien) martial artist, though she's so good and so fast most humans, as well as several of her own species, arn't convinced she isn't super powered. So really in Darrin's mind, anyone who's better then the norm is a super and there for bad. It's a pretty massive inferiority complex and I doubt a bit of magically enhanced strength would satisfy him, hence his aim to possess *SPOILER!!*

So how do you want to be done? Medium, Well or Extra Crispy?
@BW. The REAL @BW.... oh alright, @Catheram

I don't know what I would do, myself, hence the original question. I'd certainly be a bit pissed at the old guy up there, and probably resort to mad science or the occult to achieve superpowers, same as Wade. Does that mean I might eventually degenerate into villainy in pursuit of power, just like him?

I'm not saying I won't try to arrest Wade, but until SSA #5 I just couldn't relate to his motives. Now I do, if only a little bit. It probably sucks to be that guy.
