Is a habbit the plural of a hobbit?

    Kidding there Bass
  2. On a related tangent, size of your toons?

I prefer small to medium height, athletic or thin, and rarely do I max out the breast slider. I do not like the bulky toons for the most part, and it baffles me the number of players that play the extreme of bulky large or bulky small predominatly. What ever they like I guess.

This. In most MMOs I have played, males run like they have a stick up their posterior. In many cases, I also dislike the hunched, bulky look of male toons.
  4. Why not simply have you mentor down when doing safeguard/mayhem missions in a lower level zone? Turn of the xp, mentor down, and away you go when you pull up the mission. I think that would be just as good as adding it to Oroubos.

    Masks with Hair

Basic question. I was trying to fine tune my toon last night, and I tried to use the masks with hair option to get an over all basic color. (No I was not trying to make a nude toon) I noticed that there was not mask. A few more options, yes, but no mask. This meant that the skin of the face showed and did not match the outfit.

Now the question is, how long has it been this way? I seem to recall actually using that option for a cat-people before and with the original mask of the toon I was working on.

    Capt America Pic

Looks sweet. I like the Nazi bikes as well.

As a fan of Palladium, if they kept the MDC/Rifts power fest away from it, it could be fun. I could easily see a cross over with After the Bomb or Nightbane.
  8. I think the biggest failure was trying to tie into the 360... twice. Microsoft is not working with anyone there, and after teh first time I would have stopped development for the 360 for the second one. They were counting on console support. They don't have it.

(yes, 4 games a week....I am struggling to fit it into my schedule to say the least)

There are things I prefer about each system, but amazingly, I enjoy both.

Preference is fine, but to label either 'bad' seems strange to me.
Agreed. I may have made my choice abouyt 4e, but if it floats your boat, sail on. I find myself lamenting the change in system due to trying to find players that may not like the old system but like the new. That is a different issue.

That is not something to make a decision based on.

Given information and time to think, they may well have given a different answer. They may have found that the fears they had were unfounded and based on misconceptions.

For that matter, I don't see a "majority" in this thread on either side of the fence. The number of people posting in this thread or at that QA session versus the number of people playing the game, is very tiny.

The reasons people are giving for being against freeing up the names don't really hold up to scrutiny. A number of them are based on wild assumptions and others mostly emotionally fueled from what I see.

Besides, a number of things come to mind that "the majority" on these forums railed against that turned out OK. Merging the markets. Unlimited respecs. Cross-faction ATs. ED. Even free Fitness for crying out loud.

If the devs brought up changing the naming system, chances are it's FOR something they want to do, like in preparation for cross-server teaming. Meaning I'm less about trying to sway the devs here and more about trying to figure out why people would be against this and maybe shoot down some of their fears and show them their concerns are perhaps misplaced.

    .
Yet you have failed to provide a good reason for it to happen. Cross server teaming can be handled with a simple title under the name signifying the server they could be from. That is an easy issue.

Sever mergers, or heaven forbid single server games, are another issue all together. Yes, at that point they have to add the number or a @hereismyglobal, but then, as is mentioned every time someone drags this dead horse out; what happens when you are merged to a server with fewer slots than you have toons. We all know what happens there.

How about Super Group names. I, for one, would not relish being joined with another super group that shared my groups name.

    Yet those are tangents.

Multiple names are very distracting, require loads of work so that when you see two different Johnny Butanes in chat, but can't see either of them, you can tell the globals of each so you report the right one, and break immersion for most people. Now, I will admit that there is a point that someone gone for 3 years or more may not be coming back. But they might as well. I took a year off between a couple of issues a couple of times, due to content being lackluster or the game simply not doing it for me. I know I would be ticked to come back and find my name was gone.

I pass on Stamina on all my toons. I do hear what you are saying Strife, and I love your avatar, but to me, if I have no use for it, I won't try to take the power. Taunt on my scrappers, half the Corrupter secondaries that are can't be used on self, health/stamina on a toon that is not built around it. I know the min/max numbers, but I don't min/max that way. I stay with a concept.

There's nothing explicit about the naming change the devs offered that says that your global name has to be more visible than it is already. That goes for in chat and over character heads.

You wouldn't "be" XX@YY any more than you are already in the eyes of the game and global channels, and you wouldn't become that any more in the eyes of players. In fact, I'm fairly sure the devs would want to avoid that and keep it as invisible as it is now, which is to say, only mostly. The only visible change would likely be that in game emails would require "xx@yy" to send to a specific character or switch to "@yy" only.

    .
Because I do not want to see globals attached to my name or anyone else's. The current naming system is NOT perfect, but it works. There have been two times I have been unable to get the name I want. Emerald Paladin, and Fire Spider. Emerald Paladin became the Jade Paladin, and I used the old english spelling of fire to make Fyre Spider. I have 4 freaking servers of toons.

It's not that hard to come up with a name.

I wonder what fatal flaw the game system will have this time? It's a tradition that every version of GW has a horrible, game-breaking flaw. In version 1, characters could sit in radioactive areas and receive positive mutations until they became gods. In version 2, a new armor system made anyone who wore leather armor immune to metal blades. I forget the version 3 flaw; I own it but never got anyone to actually play. It'll probably be the same this time.
3rd editions flaw was teh ACT system they used, and were using for Marvel Super Heroes and their Conan RPG.

I think their Raiders of the Lost Ark RPG used it as well.

    Nope, you are not alone.

Blu-ray here, special edition if they have it and I am looking into the soundtracks.
  16. *raises glass to a hero*

When the occasion happened, he rose and surpassed many. He will be missed, and admired.
  17. I don't know about my AT, I swing wildly on that. I know one toon would be Veteran of a Psychic War. My main hero would be Hero from the Spider-man soundtrack.

On a similiar note, I was thinking It's My Life by Bon Jovi would be a good song for Praetorians.
  18. Earlier levels I will be doing the extra Primary/Secondary effects. Other wise I have no clue as of yet. 3/4 of my toons have fitness for hurdle. Thats alot of respeccing

Buy a bunch of cheap IO enhancements that no one uses and sell them.
  21. I understand the OP's thoughts on the matter. Using swift I find myself bouncing off walls at times either due to lag, poor video card, or simply the fact that I am not a twitch gamer and do not seem to have that fine motor control that some others due. Running up the fire escapes and stairs in some zones is a pain, much less navigating the cave maps, as I keep running into the walls.

On the other hand, I am not complaining about the fitness pool becoming an inherent. I do wonder whether we can choose swift or hurdle, but that is about it. This may drive a spike in the +Stealth IO sets though.

OK Turbo, it was not about the blue *****, but the damn thing was present enough that it should have been in the credits lol. It would have helped had they not seemed to focus on it.

Reminds me of Uwe Boll and his habit of unnecessary female nudity and focusing on her genilitilia.

  24. I prefer 2nd edition GW myself, though while I liked the expanded mutation charts of the 3rd edition, I did not like the ruleset or the background.

Some of the versions, such as Alternity, made me roll my eyes. I liked the ability to 'double' your mutation, and the number of mutations that were available in 2nd edition/3rd edition.

I did not like the human centric aspect that the later editions took on, making it impossible for a mutant to use high tech as it was designed genetically for 'humans' which were actually aliens.

I will keep an eye out for the consensus of the boards as well as checking it out when it comes out. Any of this foolish "humans are aliens and are the only ones that can use high tech" and I will ignore the game on general principle.
