Quote:As a long standing VIP member this is disappointing, I would have hoped the payments we make as part of the VIP would allow us to play any new Power Set that is introduced. Here's a rule of thumb to answer that question, now and (presumably) in the future:
- Is the new powerset part of the launch of a new issue? Then it's free for VIPs.
- Is it a stand-alone market release that's not part of a new issue launch? Then it's a paid-for game add-on.
Issue 24 didn't go live today, just Nature Affinity. Therefore, Nature Affinity is not free for VIPs. -
Wow, Thank you.

Thank you Lothic that is what the challenge was.

Is anyone else having trouble buying Paragon Points?
I purchased some points and decided to buy some more. On Sunday evening, I went back in to buy some more Paragon Points and I now get the message "As a security measure we limit individual online serial code purchases. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later. If you have further questions please visit this Support Center article Online Code Purchase Limits.".
On Tuesday I sent in a support incident, received a ticket number but no response.
Quite frustrating, I already missed out on one sale and looks like I might miss out on another. -
Best of Luck, I appreciated all your efforts for City of Heroes and its community.

When I play my kinetics, I always Speed Boost everyone who wants it. I think it is part of being a supportive group player.
Rather than harangue at your fellow players, I suggest that we should be recommending to the Developers that they lengthen the time. Other powers like Force Fields and Sonics have much longer durations why couldn't Speed Boost?
The Developers always claim they want to make the game fun, I can not see how Speed Boost with it current short duration makes the game fun for either the Kinetic or the people who play with him and would like its benefits. -
Quote:I agree, same old maps in MAs and in the game are the single biggest turn off for me in this great game.Sadly MA arcs lack anything substantially different (read, interesting) from conventional mission content, to merit a separate contact.
Familiar maps meet familiar objectives, with pseudo intriguing story lines, which isn't to say there are no creative authors in the games community, there are simply limited tools to breath life into something less conventional then an average tip mission.
Player generated maps would be a start in that direction, using the base editor with some added features. ... -
Quote:I would second the concept of being given the choice of slots instead of powers. In many respecs I have ended up taking powers that I believe have only marginal benefit, knowing that if I could trade that power for three extra slots it would make my Hero a lot more fun.Just to clarify my earlier post, as much as I would love more slots, and less powers, I actually do enjoy having to make the (sometimes) thought out choice of where to put my slots.
Besides, if one leverages the alpha slot well, it potentially frees up many slots that can be used in the powers chosen instead of fitness. -
I would like to see the ability to sort the items in Consignment Inventory alphabetically. That way I can match them up with what I have in Storage.
-
I really like the new inherent Fitness pool. But I would sure appreciate getting more slots to go along with it. I would like to humbly suggest that they change and allow 3 slots at slot levels up to 30 instead of the present 2.
As a person who does not spend hours analyzing powers and enhancements for the maximum benefit, I usually pick what makes sense to me. This would certainly make my playing more fun.
It would also be nice if they had an offline character builder like Mids, I like to plot out my builds rather than spend hours at the level up screen. -
Oooh, so you have to be the fastest clicky / typist bummer. Leave me out.

Nothing against Lighthouse but he is just an NCSoft employee.
I am disappointed that neither Statesman nor Positron felt they had the time to create a State of the Game address marking the third anniversary of their game. To me it is an indication of how important this game is to them. -

We are proud to introduce our newest community team member, Cricket.
Cricket was a Sr. Game Master for City of Heroes and City of Villains before joining us as an Associate Community Coordinator.
[/ QUOTE ]
So does this mean that Cricket left the employment of Cryptic Studios and is now working for NCsoft?
What was her GM handle? -

We faced the Carnival of Shadows. Typically, I'd start combat by Taunting any Strongmen in the spawn. I knew that I could handle their damage best. I'd usually catch some other minions and lts. I'd end up with a good 1/3 of the spawn focused on me, while the rest of my group disposed of the others. Whenever I saw a teammate enter the red, I'd either Taunt the mobs off them or hit the mobs to get their aggro.

My concern with this is his focus on Damage Dealers rather than the PSI attackers. Granted I have not played a Tanker since ED but when I fought Carnies I was scared of the PSI attackers because they could slice through me like butter. I am saddened that it appears that a Tankers damage mitigation is now so low that they have to worry about damage dealers more than PSI attackers. -

Why only Smash/Lethal.
Its fairly safe to say that right now these powers block a ranged electrical or radiation attack because they've got Ranged DEF. Yet somehow they do more for S/L. I think bottom line is you're making this way more complicated than it has to be.
Instead of band-aiding a poor system you should spend some time, step back, and address the problem in a better manner.
Just make these powers block vs anything, and if you want to leave the Psi hole opened then don't give them Typed Psi. But there's no good reason you can provide for why they would only give:
Smash/Lethal/Melee/Range
instead of:
Smash/Lethal/Energy/Negative/Fire/Cold/Melee/Range
Again you want AoE and Psi to be hardships, fine leave them off. Leaving off any of the others makes no sense.

I agree with this post and bolded for emphasis. You have hidden the complexity of the Defense till Cuppajo post and now rather than listen to the many fine solutions you bandaid the issue.
In my opinion, this bandaid, incomplete change will make more people unhappy than happy. -

First, a big thank you to everyone who played on the Training Room server and helped I5 to be one of our best launches ever! Were extremely happy about how I5 went live.
Second, were still scouring the boards for bugs and other issues, but weve finished making large changes to the power sets. Well still be looking at issues as the arise. For instance, there are issues with Defense builds; were going to look at that problem more carefully (the Damage Resistance Inspirations are a step, but there's a little more to come).
Thanks for all your great feedback!
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally, I5 has made the game less fun for me to play.
I believe the damage resistance inspirations are yet another bandaid to try and ignore the real issues.
After having read your posts during I5 I believe that you ignored all of the feedback except those that supported your vision. -
[ QUOTE ]
Also - after much pushing and shoving - we were told that there will NOT be data mining for TF badges. So if you did a TF before I5 - when I5 goes live you will not get a badge for it auto-magically.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have read this thread and I am not sure I understand it.
Does this mean that when I5 goes live my Task Force badges are going to be wiped? -

the true meaning behind the title, Forest of Dread.

Aptly named, many players dread seeing all the nerfage and reduction in fun that this Issue is going to bring. -

No new powersets outside of epic AT's. (apparently. No big surprise - new powersets are probably an insane amount of work.)
No changing power colors. (issue 4 and beyond)
No changing/altering weapons, (pushed to issue 4 and beyond.)
No skills system. (Pushed to issue 4 and beyond.)
No epic AT's with requirements outside of level 50. (Old news: Issue 4 and beyond.)
No Dark Armor/Rock Armor/Ice Armor/etc. stacking of armor powers. (Last I heard, To be looked at after Issue 3.)
I heard mission sliders. I also heard it was pushed back. Hopefully a dev can comment - it's a great feature if it's in.

Nice Summary, Just a couple more tid bits to add:
- I am sure Statesman commented that this issue would see water areas being populated with mobs
- Tanks have been promised a change where their damage increases as a fight progresses. no word on when this will be released other than a mention that it was a difficult coding change.
- Statesman said when CoH was released that the reason for limiting Supergroups to 75 Heroes would soon be revealed. That there was an exciting reason for this. -
Any chance NCSoft could host these player made videos would sure be a benefit.
