Well, we're just one well-played threadjack away from making this thread about makeup. Me, I'm not good at threadjacking. At least, not intentionally. So you're on your own, I guess.

Yeah, there's absolutely no way to verify that someone's really legal age over the Internet. It is, quite literally, impossible.
  4. Tar Patch on my Mastermind. You mean there's other ways to aggro a spawn? Hey, I didn't three-slot this puppy for Recharge in order to not use it on every enemy I see.

I'm not sure I'm really overdosing on Tesla Cage, but I do tend to sling it around. A lot...
  5. The only "magical girls" I know anything about are the ones in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and between them you've got Energy Blast, Electrical Blast, Super Strength, Broadsword, War Mace with the hammer option, and Dual Pistols. Also Force Field. And a big frikkin' laser that we don't have anything like, a scythe, and I may be missing some people, as well.

So... take your pick, I guess. It is magic, after all, so you can justify pretty much anything. I'd go Energy Blast. When in doubt, blast it through a wall!

  7. Every one of my hero-side characters on Triumph is a direct or indirect result of me expanding Beckett Alteridem's personal world. And I'm planning at least one more character when Going Rogue hits and we can have heroic Brutes and Stalkers. My Triumph-server villains tend to come about from me deciding to give one of my heroes a personal nemesis, with the exception of Gamble Spider, who has her own agenda.

Freedom has a similar setup. The Paragon Titans and Phi's Fiends both developed around Bitt Player.

  9. Wait, when did the devs pull a full 180 on their AE farming stance? Did I miss something?
  10. Disregarding the "joke" part because I'm lame like that, I always thought "in the name of Longbow" is pretty dumb. How do they expect a villain to react to that? "Oh, golly gee, it's those good ladies and gentlemen of Longbow! Why, how horrid a person I must be for such upstanding individuals to take up arms against me? I shall cease my criminal behavior and allow them to arrest me posthaste!"

They could at least say, "stop or we'll shoot!". I mean, that probably won't stop any villains either, but at least it doesn't sound egotistical.

It's an acronym. It means <F-bomb>ed Up Beyond All Repair. I bet that first word is why the forum censors it, although that doesn't explain why it lets "WTF" slide.

  18. The idea of Blasters being so easy to kill is that we sacrifice our survivability for increased damage output. The question of whether we deal enough damage to make it worthwhile does get debated, however at this point any increase in Blaster survivability would mean a decrease in damage output.

Anyway, how could we be made less squishy? The only way I can think of would be giving us more HP, and/or adding protection to Defiance.

I believe you're correct here. Every Power Set has its own thing, ammo-swapping is Dual Pistols' unique ability.

So, now, this build is the result of 30 levels of random experimentation and no less than three respecs. I had a lot of issues with survivability for a while, before I finally ditched my travel power and Frenzy in favor of Boxing, Tough, and Weave. Now, my Crab Spider's virtually unkillable against anything below a Boss, and is only in serious danger against them if they can drain Endurance. (Curse you, Ring Mistresses! CURSE YOU!!)

That brings me to my problem: Endurance efficiency. It's, um, not good. Highly not good. She's far worse at Endurance management than any of my other SO-level characters. I'm pretty sure my Claws/Dark Armor Scrapper had better Endurance efficiency when she was on DOs. Seriously, you guys, End-crash city over here.

So, I'm asking you all for some advice. I'd like to improve my Crab Spider's Endurance efficiency. I'd like to maintain similar levels of survivability, but I can afford to make her more kill-able before we get to the point where anything can actually kill her. I haven't got a respec handy, having used up my veteran respecs, but I haven't done any of the respec trials yet, so I can go out and get one if I have to. Let's assume I can only afford SOs, I don't have the Infamy lying around to IO her out.

Her secondary build is even worse. I'm planning on making it a slot-machine build (hence naming her "Gamble Spider"), so the powers are selected based on slotting her with as many "chance for X" procs as possible, rather than anything sensible.

So, what do all of you think?

For more info about a "Ranged Melee" powerset, use the search to look up "stretching". You might find something in one of those threads that's applicable to your idea.
I believe there are system limitations regarding entities that copy player characters. I know that sort of thing has been shot down regarding Masterminds with duplicates of themselves as pets, but that's actual NPCs, as opposed to just power effects, so who knows?

The other issue is screen slowdown. The copies would have to be rendered like the actual character, essentially meaning that there's suddenly however-many more characters on screen, all at once, just WHAM! This could lead to issues with weaker GPUs.

I'd like to see some kind of "Portal Melee", which would actually be a ranged set, where the character would generate portals next to him/herself and the target, and then reach through those portals to punch said target. It'd probably have even worse graphical issues than BBQ_Pork's suggestion, and it'd be kind of goofy anyway, but hey, I can dream.
  23. And here I thought it'd be another request for price caps. This is much, much better, and I fully support it.
  24. Arc Name: Midnight Malice
    Arc ID: 65904
    Faction: Heroic
    Creator Global/Forum Name: @Bitt Player
    Difficulty Level: Easy
Synopsis: A Midnight Squad offshoot group appears to be up to no good! They might even be up to actual bad! Track them down, find out what sort of not-good they're on about, and put a stop to it.
    Tags: Solo-Friendly, Magic, Comedy
Estimated Time to Play: Less than an hour.
Other notes: The custom faction is all Midnight Squad characters except for one custom Boss, who only appears once. That Boss does have Earth Control powers, so if you bring a character with no mez protection power, I'd recommend a Break Free or two.
