I'll be there tonight!
I wont forget this time ^L^
My PB has his incarnates so I'm good to go! -
Quote:I've been through the transistion from a PB to a WS. They're two totally different beast. A warshade is very enemy dependent, needs lots of recharge and damage. Circle makes up for the endurance (if you're doing your job.) By the way, any advice two headed boy gives on a human-only warshade is worth taking. Me and dechs' were not hitting anything while THB crushed +4x8 (or so) rikti mobs like they were eggs. He makes a monster of a human form, to say the LEAST even if you're not looking to solo AVs.Thank you for the honest critque. I suppose my crafting of PB has mislead me a touch (or a mile) as it concerns putting a WS together. Let me refine what it is I'll do with this toon. I actually don't see myself attmepting to solo any AVs. I find it boring. However, I do like teaming and solo'ing missions at times. I really just need something that's durable and effective. I'll rework the build some and get back here with it.
I'll be working on a human form build soon so when it's done I'll re-post it on here. -
Bonfire making buffs not work? Is he/she dumb? lol
Secondly, bonfire...a sin? Whaaaat?
I've played with my friend who uses a fire/devices/fire mastery blaster and he uses bonfire as a good tool to juggle, and those "oh crap" moments when he needs melee protection. Since he is a /devices.
It's an awesome power, and loads of fun in smaller rooms -
How do you get 54x8 ? I've always been confused as to where that 54 comes from

Quote:It all depends on how you develop the back story, that alone can extremely reinforce the concept of a Phoenix. My first character ever was a fire/fire blaster, one of countless fire/fire blasters that are phoenixes of some sort. Lately I noticed that, with each iteration of her build, as the power of the character has increased, the emphasis on the /Fire side has decreased to the point that all I have anymore is Ring of fire, BU, consume, hot feet (which I don't have the endurance to run) and fire sword/FSC (which I rarely use).
Therefore, for powergaming reasons, I'm thinking of rerolling as Fire/MM and portraying the Psi attacks as spirit energy. I keep wondering if this will feel 'right' for a phoenix, though. On one hand, you don't normally think of phoenixes as psychics, except for that one Marvel character. On the other, I do like the idea of shredding souls as an avatar of the cycle of life and death. Thoughts?
Note that I'm not asking for playstyle or game mechanical advice. I'm interested in how natural the concept of Fire/MM as a phoenix feels to others, and whether people will keep thinking of that Marvel character when they look at her powersets.
For example: she is such a developed psychic that she can create fire with her mind, not her body or special powers at all -
And i know a good amount of people who have the teleporter for pocket D too. So between that and ouro it's not even a bother to go there and turn it off.

Although the damage for it isn't the best, It's a great opening attack and damage mitigation for my DP/Fire Blaster's attack chain.
I use that to get in close, and in turn fire off Hail of bullets, then bullet rain, then the rest of my AoEs. I find the knockdown to be great for negating that dreaded alpha strike, especially for blasters.
Also, chaining those two together looks simply badass -
Oh ABE and his grant invis xD
And my thoughs:
Pulsar (PB Set): Animation time is WAY to long compared to the Warshade's equivalent stun power (Emanation) and it doesn't stack with anything like incandescent strike or something. It's useful for minions, but Lts & bosses are a whole different story. -

Quote:I still haven't figured that one out quite yet. But I'll get it eventually!!!Of course, good defense and resistance makes for a decent survivable factor. I'm up against the same pickle with my current build (35 all human build). Although, I have a few more slots to burn I'm taking the "kill things faster" approach.
I'll be interested to hear your progress with your build, and how you got your hands of a +3 Gladiator. -
Okay so here's the deal. I have a warshade that's around level 28. Since this is pre-eclipse, I was hitting the ground faster than an blaster on wet ice. (See what i did there??)
Anyways I got so frustrated that i decided to re-read through the MFing Warshade guide that we all hear so much about and change up my warshade some. My pre-eclipse build has gravity shield so that i can survive a bit longer before being torn to pieces, and a few other select utilities.
After fiddling with mids i think i've come up a second build for S/L defense AND perma-eclipse/hasten that may work POST level 50 (meaning having alpha slot unlocked & made). For my alpha i picked spiritual radial, so that i could buff up my defenses in exchange for the extra recharge and healing i would receive from the alpha slot.
Just the idea of a warshade that can't get hit, AND can take truckloads of damage if he is hit seems like a game breaker to me
I've got around 28% S/L defense and perma hasten+eclipse. Edit: I forgot to mention that it seems pretty functional as well. I didnt sacrifice much after i had perma hasten available.
What do you guys think?

Quote:Now giving white dwarf shield charge instead of that teleport power that i don't ever use would be an awesome idea. I'd give it high damage, and slow recharge.I will however concede that it would be "nice" if White Dwarf Step were changed away from being a Travel Power copy, since Peacebringers "don't need" another Travel Power beyond Energy Flight, into being something far more akin to Shield Charge. If White Dwarf Step operated like a Shield Charge on a 20 second(!) recharge (as opposed to Shield Defense's 90 second recharge) it would go a tremendously long way towards giving White Dwarf its badly needed 4th Attack Power so as to smooth out the White Dwarf's Attack Chain relative to that of the Black Dwarf for WS.
Things that I agree with and would like to see, after reading this thread:
1. Power pools used in forms. I have both assault and maneuvers on my PB so i could get vengeance and I can't use either of them because im hopping between forms so often.
2. The option Zenyth suggested about Khelidian specific EPPs. I'd call the general power group "Form Mastery" and Have two choices, Nova Mastery or Dwarf Mastery.
A nice power in nova would be a single target hold of some sort. and for dwarf, again the shield charge idea would be VERY helpful. -

Quote:I Second that, Dechs' Guide helped me immensely. It really opened up my eyes to how to really utilize the forms as another attach chain rather than a "mode."] Dechs Kaison's "MFing Warshade Guide." I'm sure there are plenty of other great guides out there too.
Hope this helped, and have fun!
A decent warshade combo that i've found to use with troublesome enemy groups is to:
Use both mires --> Gravitic Emanation --> Nova form and spam both AoE attacks. Almost NOTHING survives. and anything that does (accept for bosses) are stunned. Which is what gravity well is for, if the troublesome guy survives then hold him still and (if you have it) use unchain essence on the closest dead body to the troublesome guy.
I always try to use the group stun AFTER i mire because the chance to hit the entire group SKYROCKETS! -
Thanks for the help guys! I'll be flopping around for awhile until i can get some kind of access to mids. I'll probably run it off of my flashdrive at school or something :P
So I'll just mirror my Warshade build slightly. I don't need it running all the time, so somewhere around 70% additional recharge is good. AwesomeWith my heals my un-finished build is already around 20% w/o hasten so i dont have much more to go
As a side note: I'm loving inner light. It's a HUGE help along side my Musculature Alpha -
So, with the recent changes to the specs of a Peacebringer's powers I've had to reconfigure my build, the problem is that my main platform is now a mac -_- (there is no working up to date version of Mids for macs.) So I'm here to ask this, about how much global recharge is needed to make light form permanent? I'm assuming that, with prema-hasten it's somewhere around 150% just like a warshade's requirements, but i'm not sure of this exactly.
-
I would love this. For some of my blaster secondaries that first power is totally skippable. On my DP/Fire I rarely use ring of fire and I don't devote any slots to it. So being able to skip it would be of a huge help.
-
I'll have to check out that chunk a bit later, i'm on my Mac right now and my PC is out of commission so I don't have access to Mids :[

Hmmm, /sr sounds tempting. I've seen what they can do at full power and it's simply awesome.
-
Okay, so for just about my entire playing career I've only ever gotten blasters and my PB over to level 50, and no other build older than level 30. So i looked at the primary powers under the stalker category. I love playing on the edge, it's no fun if I'm not near death sometimes So the low HP of a stalker fits my old blapping playstyle that blasters famously flaunt around.
I was thinking of going with dual blades, for the combos, but I'm unsure as to what a reliable secondary would be. I've heard amazing things about /dark on the tanker and scrapper side of the game and that self rez power is extremely tempting. I've heard /nin is suggested very often, but It won't fit my concept well.
What's a good /secondary for a stalker other than /nin? -
Quote:For me, voids, quants ect, are only game breakers until about level 18. At that level i get either Incandescent strike or Gravity well, depending on your AT. With ONE hit of I.S or G.W a void's health is already at 50% or less, at that point they're not a threat either because they are either stunned or held...We cannot be balanced against VEATs until either they get constant debuffing enemies in they're missions, (which I DO NOT suggest), or we get buffed to the point that the Void Stalkers and cysts aren't a game breaker.
You just have to learn how to deal with the enemy, simple as that. A blaster learns how to deal with enemies who are melee-centric, a tanker learns how to fight psyonic enemies. I think it would be a lot more balanced if the Veats had their own enemies, basically an Arachanos Assassin sent to defeat you. -
Quote:lol, and i mean that literally. Those arachnos are a pain, i was playing with my friend who was a 28 spider at the time, and i was sk'd to 27. Those guys F'ed me up !Arachnos are the #1 Warshade griefers in my book. Put them on +4 and they just start cheating.
Quote:There are times that there's no body. If I die and come back from hospital, I can't just kill something on the way and summon a pet because the pet disappears when you enter/exit mission?
Oh and did I say I hate fighting Devourers? Those stone monsters don't drop any dead bodies! So annoying.
I've already started running into situations where there are NO bodies. I got stuck with an ALL CoT Ghost mission. They dont make bodies, so when i need health and end BAD. I have to rely on my poorly slotted essence drains >.< -
Edit:
Quote:I know what you mean, try going from a warshade to an arch/dev blaster...it's impossible. lolI like going for S/L defense if I'm going to softcap, simply because softcapping Ranged without resorting to purples or PvP IOs tends to require too many build compromises. I do prefer Ranged defense on a pure ranged Blaster, but lately I've been playing more /Fire, /Electric, and /Mental types that tend to get into melee range quite often. My Archery/Energy hover Blaster does well with decent (30% or so) Ranged defense but he's just plain boring compared to my Fire/Fire... once you get used to jumping into a spawn and wiping out everything around you it's hard to sit back and plink at things.
__________________________________________________ _____________________________________________
Okay, so i tested out my character today with three small purple insps, which is equal to around 35% defense and he was REALLY hard to hit. So i'm going back to the defense route.
Where could i improve, if its possible?
