    Hover/Fly Binds

Also, don't forget your 4 Fly Poses for fun!

    (Something like: /bind <key> "e flypose1")

The nice people around here might have a better idea, but you get the picture - the poses are fun and although they don't actually make you fly any faster, sometimes it can look as though you are
  3. Indeed - my DM/WP tank may be only 29ish but has trouble keeping aggro until I get to slot Taunt more effectively. If she can ride the alphas and get stuck in, RttC, Siphon Life and some handy green insps will see her through most things so far. The hairy stuff is just around the corner, so I've yet to see how she copes with a truckload of Ringmistresses or whatever.

Now my two penneth - I like Dark Melee with my WP: I don't know about the reduced capacity for hard-hitting mentioned by the OP, but the damage output from Smite and Shadow Maul is pretty good, plus Shadow Punch is fast and all of them debuff the mobs' To Hit. Add the AoEs later and aggro + survivability + smashing power should (in theory ) all improve quite nicely.

Still, I know DM has never really been the most popular melee set and not for everyone.

    SMASH!

    - Duoing the Zenflower mission with an SS/Inv Brute... SS/Inv eventually succumbed... My poor compatriot fell even faster this time...No deaths on my part. Ye gods, I love Rise to the Challenge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I loved my SS/Inv brute but at level 32 the ability of Carnie Ringmistresses to sink her in nanoseconds and her dismal endurance against Freakshow boss tanks that con only red is quite depressing. I made an Energy Armour brute when CoV came out, then SS/Inv since then, but recently I tried the latest toy, WP and I really, really love it. I understand why there are so many WP brutes and tanks around now, but I can't help feeling sad that none of that loving is shared with EA and Inv. Consequently, I have no tales of derring-do... *slouches off, wiping a tear from his eye, as off-screen violins play "Hearts and Flowers"...*

...You might manage without conserve power or Energy Drain but remember energy Drain...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Personally, I could never go without these. I've had my Energy/Energy brute since CoV launch and she's still 32 - the crashing endurance killed it for me. I picked her up again recently and had all the problems Miss-Chief describes. I don't know Dual Blades or what, if anything, it contributes to bailing out Energy's stamina and defence issues, but if you get a good working secondary build for your brute, please post it here so I can see how it's done properly!
  6. Exactly what Tyger says - a bit late but gratz! 50s on two servers? I have trouble on just one!
  7. Doctor Bindweed would like nothing better (apart from some live Devouring Earth 'guinea-pigs' pinned to his examination table, maybe ) to get his hands on some Rikti tech, or even some sustainable biological samples... however, he's only level 16, and although I can't remember what the minimum entry level is for RWZ I'm sure it's higher than that.
  8. My tanks run around after mobs scattered by Energy blasts. My Energy blaster and Storm defender knock mobs all over the room. If it weren't so, it would be dull

A Biblical foe? Created after Moses received the instruction thou shallot kill.

    That shallot of onion jokes.
  10. You forgot to mention that tanks also have to run around a lot because of Murphy's Third Law, which states that every team your tank joins must contain an Energy Blaster spamming impressive group knockback powers.

    That was MY herd! *cries*
  11. Firearm landed heavily on the sidewalk, skidding slightly before his jets whined to a cooling stop.

He clanged together the massive blisters on his forearms which housed most of the hot-suit's weaponry. They were almost out of juice - anything more than a few more minutes of another big fight and he'd be just one more bad-tempered nut in an iron suit.

He sighed as he looked around at the tired heroes, and then up at the not-so-jolly green giant.

    "Aw, fer cryin' out loud..."

    Davy Jones

Magic! How on Earth did she do this and when will Bruckheimer be hiring her?
  13. Bindweed

    HOW LONG?!?!?!

I thought that, over the two and a bit years since I created them, Libby and Bambi would have amassed a few hours - but I guess it's a testament to two accounts filled with alts that between them they just about scrape 600 hours. Pitiful, really.

OT but burning curiosity demands I ask Veskit: What is that in your animated avatar?
  14. Firearm weaved through the air like a rusty spectre, raining bolts of fire and repulsor beams at the glowing orange balls visible through the fog. he couldn't make much out through the gloom, but he could tell that something was happening - that some of the tell-tale orange glowies were starting to cluster and move toward a single point. Flying closer, Frank saw that they were heading toward a young heroine he didn't recognise.

Uttering a mumbled prayer to the gods of temperamental rocket boots, Frank boosted toward her, hurling fiery bombs and beams into the congregating clones.
  15. Frank perched atop a floodlight mast of the new ballpark, slapping the side of his helmet as he tried to rattle his battered helmet comms into life. Being pulled from the rubble of the collapsed office block was embarrassing enough. Being pulled out by a giant lime jelly was just plain bizarre.

"Holy sh...Charlie! Charlie?" There was no answer. "This whole situation is about to go to hell in handbasket if them capes don't do this right..." he mumbled.

He hadn't been touched by the purple light, and he was too high to see anything through the mist. He was hoping the situation wouldn't get any worse before he could take the panel off his boot and take a look at those fizzing circuits. Nevertheless, he worked as fast as he could...
  16. At least you usually know where Knives are - not as bad as when you enter a big shiny lab and suddenly rocket-propelled grenades start exploding in your hair from a Nemesis sniper so far away you need a Saver Return to get to him.
  17. Firearm shook his head and, for the umpteenth time that day, directed a string of ferocious expletives at the god of temperamental bio-mechanical powersuits.

He had instinctively propelled himself even further up and away from the meteor when the whine started. When his rockets fizzled out, yet again, and dropped him heavily onto the roof of an evacuated office block, Frank lost his temper, yet again, and started shouting at his predicament, turning the air deep blue. What he didn't immediately realise was that he was too high and too far to have been engulfed by the viscous green gas, nor was he incapacitated by the whine.

Inside his helmet, Frank grinned when he hauled himself to his feet and saw what was happening. His mind whirred, planning his next move - to evacuate what civilians were still inside what he considered to be a safe perimeter, and to then blast the living cr*p out of this...whatever it was.

It was then that the roof of the office block, already shaken by the shcok of the meteor impact and then again by Frank's heavy crash-landing, started to crumble and collapse.

"Oh, fer f-" he grunted, tumbling through the falling rubble.

Unless I've miscounted Friday's isn't full, we have one spot left!

    [/ QUOTE ]

You are indeed correct. My Arithmetic-Fu has clearly been re-imagined by Hollywood and the remake isn't a patch on the original. I'll be around tonight, and should there still be a spare hole in the team, would like to volunteer!

    [ QUOTE ]
    ...Friday's my birthday...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Happy Birthday! Cake and Ale! Have a good one!
  19. Looks like Friday is full but if people are unable to make it and there's a space that needs filling, I'd like to volunteer either a 50 (hero-tanking Bambi, Arctic Storm, or Primary) or, if there's sk space, Liberty Girl (40)

For Saturday, Liberty Girl is free and willing again but at 40 will she need to be exemped? Otherwise Gingersnap and her tormentor demon (34) would like to meet like-minded individuals for fun, movies, villain-smacking, and pizza.
  20. His rocket boots spitting blue flames like a dying Zippo, and his armour crackling with spilt energy and dripping the dusty debris of one or two forced landings, Firearm arrived in the air above the scene. He had seen the purple flashes from the air as he approached, but he had been too far away to be touched by them. His weapon systems were already online, having witnessed what he thought may have been an attack...

Coming to a halt in the sky high above the crash site he looked around at the area below, sighing at the sheer numbers of heroes assembled, in what he considered to be his neighbourhood.

"There is no way on God's green Earth that this is gunna go well..." he groaned, into his open mike...
  21. Frank Brewer stirred from his dozing as his apartment shuddered around him. Through his half-open left eye his semi-conscious brain registered blurry images from the TV set, left playing in the corner with the volume turned down low enough so as not to disturb him, yet loud enough for his sister Charlie to hear. Frank's eye slowly drooped shut again.

Suddenly he was jolted out of his warm, soft and beautiful sleep by violent hands laid upon his shoulder.

"Wake up, ya dozy..." Charlie was excited and noisy. He hated this. "Frank - get ya Hot Suit - there's a frikkin' meteor at the end of the block!"

Frank waved an angry arm at his sister but nonetheless dragged himself into an upright position. He yawned and looked longingly at the cushion where his head had lain so happily until a few seconds ago.

"Frank!" his sister yelled. He heard her clattering around behind the sofa. She was pulling on her own armour. He sighed and hauled himself to his feet. His sister's suit may look good, but his "hot suit" was the original and best.

Twenty minutes later, the burnt-orange armour of the everyman vigilante Firearm clunked onto the roof of the soot-stained apartment block, and Frank checked the suit's sensors within the helmet.

"Charlie's right..." he thought, grinning to himself inside the metal casing and watching the pillar of dust and smoke mushrooming into the grey air near the new ballpark.

With a thought he ignited the mini-rockets in his boots rose into the air. Not unexpectedly they cut out and he plummetted back to the roof, landing on his armoured butt with a crash and a string of expletives. Growling a string of even more inventive expletives, Frank slammed the spluttering boot against the chimney stacks and tried again. He rose, sparking alarmingly, but this time he hovered. His synapses fired a signal and the suit's magnetic thrusters kicked in. Guided by the bio-electric impulses from Frank's brain, the suit turned in mid-air toward the site of impact...
  22. Stan Lee emphasizes the difference between "realistic" and "convincing" - Spider-Man has never, is not and will never be the former, but in order to succeed as a story, it has to be the latter. I suspect the OP means "convincing" rather than "realistic" - otherwise it's the wrong term for a fantasy adventure game.

Spotted! If only I could do the whole thing like AH! I know he has his critics but for me there's none better at combining that level of drawing & painting skill with some very witty context.
