If you want something thats a challenge to get to 50, I recommend a defender, sonic/sonic.
Im not saying its fun or addictive, but if you get it to 50 Ill be impressed. 
Why would you be impressed if she got that specific Defender to Level 50?

the problem with the info you've provided so far is that it's kind of a scattergun. Predominantly ranged base toons... but it's almost impossible to tell what you actually like
I guess before I would even attempt to advise you, I'd need to know much more about what you enjoy and want from a new toon

Well so far my suggestion would be a Tank or a Blaster but not knowing what playstyle you enjoy it's hard to say.
My other suggestion would be give Plant control a go my current fave is Plant/Emp sounds a little lame but hit Seeds of confusion and you can go make a cuppa as no healing is required.

I like toons that make you feel powerful, i seem to love controller sets as you get the super fun defender bits with great control..
So i am pretty sure i would like a controller.
Only ones i've not try'd are Earth + Plant. whats best from there ? Pve + PvP
as for secondary i was thinking storm as i like the shields or possibly rad for super debuffs..
Any1 know from that what would be a good synergy and make those villains cringe./

B4 it gets nerfed (an AoE confuse is a tier 8/9 in one set I'm sure but go on have a 60 degree good range cone B4 you can even travel properly) Note- yes just checked on Mids Mind control tier 9 240 sec Rchg 25 radius AoE confuse Plant- Tier 5 (lvl 8) range 50 60 degree arc 60 sec Rchg err the 'Balance' Dev must have been on holiday that day!!!

i'd tried Illusion, ice, Grav and Fire before I finally tried Earth. Every other troller was deleted in the mid teens. I just didn't seem to 'get' them, but Earth i totally 'got'. it's fun, and very much a 'whizz bang' powerset. The thing about alot of Fire/Illusion/Grav effects is the graphical effects aren't that impressive. With Earth you can always see what's happened! it also has some useful side effects, Slows, -Def, knockdown, tohitdebuff as well and the holds as well as a great disorient. Immob as well but TBH I hardly every use stone prison and never even took Stone Cages. (immob's stop earthquake from working. Critter in it's backside better than one standing still shooting you IMO).
Try and Earth troller, you won't regret it!

Ok's stared making earth last night, can't think of a costume idea before i fell asleep... but what secondary? I would like Rad, i think but what goes best? ill be pvping aswell prob Sirens Call as its my fav.. I know how good storm is in there especially if i IO it. But Rad goes well because of the Aoe debuffs all stacking up ontop of the slows, its just whether i can fir it into my build.

But yeah i've got terminal Altitis, but probably worse than you, i've been here for years, and I still don't have a lvl 50 on europe lol. bleh.

That's true altitis. A true sufferer doesn't bother with PLing or any of that, they just meander through the content, flicking between Alts on a whim, playing 3 or 4 of them in a day for no real reason other than they fancied playing em.
Earth is a great primary for a troller.
As a secondary, I would probably go for storm. Storm is trickier to play than /rad, and be carefl when choosing powersets, they can sometimes cause difficulties with other choices. As mentioned, even earth own powers overlap negatively. If you go for pure KB, urgo missing out cages, then storm synergises nicely as it has some nice KB of its own.
Forest is a plant Troller and to be honest I never really felt powerful, yes you can control, but you can't really hurt much.
Quick question about Earth, with 3 recharge IO's and Hasten the time is reduced on quicksand to 11 seconds recharge, on a power that lats 45 seconds can anyone tell me if it stacks from the same user?

I've got a mind/storm 50 but honestly I hardly ever play him any more.
I'm having a lot if PVE fun with an earth/thermal, which seems like a great combo but possibly not so good for PVP
