Got a CO account up and running. Loaded the game through steam. Logged in, created a dummy character to see the world, logged out, uninstalled the game.
Yes, I had the graphics cranked. -
Who else? Bill has been my alter-ego for almost as long as I've been with my wife. The game may have come and gone for me over the years but BZB has always been in my head scratching away at the back of my eyeballs.
Hell... even cigars have new meaning because of this character that's evolved and grown as I have. I've little doubt that somewhere he'll continue to exist, even if it's as a tattoo on my right thigh.
-
I already did it. Moved BZB the scrapper to another server and made BZB the brute on Pinnacle. It wouldn't be an issue to do it again. The real question is what kind of game this will be after a reboot.

I only gave NCSoft and Paragon Studios somewhere around $50 since this time last year. There were reasons for that decision that I won't go into now but the point I'm left pondering is did I, and other players that quit paying for reasons of their own, help cause this?
The sad truth is: yes. So who is at fault for the downfall of this game now?
NCSoft for pulling the trigger?
The devs for making decisions that caused players to quit?
The players for quitting?
I don't eat Chick-Fil-A because I've always hated the politics of the company and their food sucks.
I don't give money to antivirus software providers because there are free products on the market that work just as well.
Is NCSoft the villain in this story? Sure. But as others have stated there are a lot of villainous companies out there.
There's a bunch of people now worried about where their next paycheck is coming from and THAT sucks. THEY are the ones I hold real concern for. But NCSoft is not the only cause of this game's downfall. -
I won't be tossing my realist hat in the trash but I've not seen any false hope thrown around either.
The work being done by the likes of TonyV, Codewalker and everyone else at Titan deserves respect regardless of the outcome.
There's nothing wrong with fighting for something you love. -
None of them. I'm sitting on a closed beta invite for the new Mechwarrior MMO but lost interest when I saw how much into the Pay to Win model they were headed.
MMO games, it seems, just aren't my cup of coffee. -
It would be nice to get a firm date that we could trust but I'm going to go ahead and download the client again today just in case it all goes down far sooner than anyone thinks it will.

Quote:Umm..It's like I said, If you weren't sticking around playing the game all the time I'd have had more cause for concern.
/raises hand
About that...
Oh, never mind.
Matt, I truly wish the best for you and everyone else at Paragon. This has got to be rough on all of you, but please keep your heads high and know that you've got clans of rabid supporters hoping you all find new gigs ASAP.
Peace and be well,
-Dave -
I had everything as a Preemie. I logged out one day, mad about something, stayed away until I came back to help test the solo incarnate path, got mad about something, been gone from even the forums since April it seems.
I'm finding that I'll probably load the client up just to be logged in when they pull the switch because I always said I'd be here when they did.
Didn't expect it to go down like it has, though. -

Please take care of yourself, FX. You know you were always one of my favorite fellow players/posters.
I've been reading the forums for the past hour catching up and even though I've been absent from the game and the forums for ages, one can't ignore a community he spent eight years being a part of when said community was just kicked in the junk.
The sadness is understandable and shared. Keep your chin up, folks. -
Just read the news on fark. Wanted to say goodbye one last time. Be well everyone.
-Dave -
They'll take you with open arms, man. Regardless of my current opinion of the devs, the folks on Pinn are a good buncha drunks. Even the sober ones.

Quote:Fascinating. It appears to bounce between however many is in your current zone and a cap of 50.Edit:
50... doesn't that number seem awfully round to you?Several issues back, the Devs modified the search window to not show how many (unhidden) players weren't shown like it used to. So all you can conclude is there's at least 50 non hidden players currently on blueside... there might be 50, or there might be 50,000.
Got 17 in Talos, hit search again, hits 50. Back and forth.
Guess they got tired of people using that data to show how low this game's player population actually is. -
Did a search on Pinnacle and saw 50 bluesiders logged on. Playerbase does seem damn small these days.
However, all the reasons in the soon to be posted copy/paste against server consolidation are still true.
Use server transfers. Move yourself to the high population servers.
It ain't rocket surgery. -
I'm up to three here on the forums. Apparently FAR more people have me on ignore than I choose to ignore.
-
20 bucks outside of sub fee. And, yes, I would have enjoyed four lattes or four packs of cigarettes more than what I got for that 20 bucks.

All true and as you point out, we're nowhere near there and I'll add that we never will be. There will never be enough arcs to go from Alpha unlocked to T4 in everything without running into the 20 hour timer.
Which is why the one arc reward per day is so damned stupid. Sadly, they've had ample time to change it and haven't. They might one day but based on what I've been doing in game since killing my sub, I just might not care anymore. -
The disadvantage of being forced to "suck it up" and either do something I hate or have months of my time wasted due to arbitrary time gates?
Forced is the wrong word, of course, since I chose path #3 and canceled my sub instead of rewarding the devs for their bad decisions.
I've seen others state that the progression rate for trials is too fast. I don't care about the progression rate for trials. I'm only concerned about the solo progression rate and find it too slow to bother with. -
And change the one component per day ******** time gate to a lesser pain in the *** one component per arc per day time gate.

Laziness is never a pretty thing.
/says the dude posting to a forum for a game he doesn't pay for while sitting at his desk at work. -
The people that choose to play tanks for tanking do so because they want to play the *role* of tank, which includes being the aggro managing meat shield. Stating that no one out there wants to play the archetype that holds the king of aggro title is a lie. People ignore liars once they are determined to be liars.
