Using dark armor would also allow further stacking of stuns. Going off of CoD, Oppressive Gloom's Mag 2 Stun stacking on Whirling Hand's 30% chance of Mag 2 Stun means that even bosses will be knocked silly a third of the time.
Coupled with all the other stuns flying off of EM, you'd probably be quite safe.
Death Shroud will help a little against EM's woeful lack of AoE damage.
Seems like it would be functional and probably hold aggro really well.
I wouldn't touch the combo myself, but for tanking, sure why not? -
Shadow Maul dishes out better AoE than one would think at first. Having recently run a dm/wp brute to 50, I wouldn't skip SM.
Since you sound like you're not worried about burning respecs, you could take DC for a touch more AoE damage until you get ED and then respec out of DC.
I went with Soul Mastery. Darkest Night's mitigation is very nice. The end cost is high, but as an /EA user, you won't have to worry about that. On top of that, the best DarkMelee attack chain for a brute includes Gloom.
On my DM/WP, I drop DarkestNight, tighten up the spawn to build fury and get them closer, hit EnergyDrain to cap my HP, SoulDrain to bump damage, DarkObliteration, ShadowMaul and then go to town dropping the weakened enemies. -
Any build can function without stamina. You can even build sustainable attack chains without stamina.
You will be vastly less efficient at the job of killing without stamina than any other scrapper that takes stamina. -
I've got hasten on auto and click PB only when I see it blinking the toggle drop warning.
When I dump hasten, (because I've given up on reaching the 313% recharge needed in FU for FU, Slash, Focus, repeat,) I MIGHT put PB back on auto depending on its final recharge time. -
Quote:Sadly, this nit must be picked. Recharge doesn't start until animation is completed.
Like if you made a concept-based Spines Scrapper who chained Barb Swipe all the time. The animation on Barb Swipe is longer than its recharge.
That's why you go barbswipe, flurry, repeat. -
Quick comment on Hasten:
It doesn't help my claws/sr. I keep meaning to respec out of it but haven't gotten around to it yet.
Why doesn't it help?
The best claws ST attack chain is FU, Slash, Focus, repeat. You need 313% recharge in FU to do it. Even with Hasten, 4 purple sets and several other +recharge set bonuses, I don't have enough recharge for that chain.
However, even without hasten, I do have enough global recharge for FU, Slash, Focus, Swipe, repeat which is what I run now.
So for me, hasten has no worth.
What about AoEs? With or without it, I can cycle FU, Spin, Shockwave, repeat.
So, yes, there ARE cases where hasten is a wasted pick. -
There's quite a difference between "do what you feel is fun" and "do what will reduce your mitigation."
The OP asked a mitigation question. That's in the realm of numbers, not fun. (Although some of us have fun with the numbers, too.)
Should every player do whatever they want with their bulds? Absolutely! I'll never use aid self on melee characters regardless of whether that would increase my mitigation.
However, it seemed to me that the question being asked is whether skipping the passives will hurt the build. That answer is a resounding yes. -
Quote:With 1 passive at 25% health you will have 11.66% DR to all but toxic and psi.
They are passive...
They add +defense...
They add scaling resistance...
They add DEFENSE DEBUFF RESISTANCE.
With all 3 passives at 25% health you'll have 35% DR to all but toxic and psi.
The DDR in the passives is enhanceable. That's 10.8% DDR that you will be missing out on PER passive.
Cimerorans are a bad day to most defense sets. SR users sitting at the DDR cap laugh at them. Those that aren't at the DDR cap are too busy dying to laugh. -
Happy birthday, Houtex. Remember the greatest bit of advice ever given:
Don't Panic. -
heh... there's an idea I could get behind. Fine.. change ALL kBack to kDown so that you can only get kBack again by slotting for it.
But then add extra damage from kBack like you got in the original Champions PnP game. Knock someone into a wall 3 feet behind them? HUGE extra damage. No wall at all? Just a little extra from road burn.
This, of course, will never happen, just as shockwave being changed to kDown will never happen, but it amused me enough to type it out. -
You do realize that the mods told us to do that, right?
-
Currently have:
claws/sr scrap
claws/inv scrap
claws/ea brute
claws/sr brute
Probably adding a claws/wp for the halibut. -
So don't read them. I find the neg comments I get and the current rep implementation amusing.

EDIT: Pondering it further, I'd be ok with the comments being autotagged with the sender's name. I'm still against removal of the system. -
Howdy, Catwhoorg.
1 hour. 3 paper missions in PI. Sold junk at contact between missions.
Total inf earnings: 14512333
Items kept:
Recipes: 1 Purple, 3 uncommon
Salvage: 2 rare
EDIT: Time tracked was start of first mission to end of third mission. Included travel and selling time.
EDIT2: Right after this, I was invited to an arena match. Got a Panacea: Heal. Sold for 338mil. I put it up for 250 inf. -
With Conserve Power and PhysPerf... end issues would no longer be an issue. Your AoE would be mighty.
That'd be my choice of the two. -
Quote:Dude... brawl has infinite DPE... proc that sucker up!
But I wasn't telling him put it in brawl. -
I wouldn't go quite that far. You're not going to get your attack chain down to followup, slash, focus, repeat while solo without purples.

Quote:Castle is quite aware of the situation.
Shhhhhh, you be quiet there, we don't need the Devs knowing all our secrets now! -

Cap, you did report them, I hope?
Email is completely disabled for me. The only time I've seen spam since that feature was added was when I logged into a character I hadn't done so with since the change. Opened up options, loaded saved values, email button went away.
To all those that were against the devs giving us the ability to disable in game email:

Quote:And I will Never hold that against you.
Also also again, I wanted to make a second chart that covered your situation (and said so), but I was too lazy.
As for squishies in trouble, click on team bar that is going red, hit F, hit Focus. 9 times out of 10 I'll be able to pick out the offending enemy from there and remove it from the situation.
Yea... focus rocks. -
Quote:Unfortunately the always reliable and static performance level of the PB is below the average performance of the WS.... assuming the WS has enough enemies to work its buffs on. Don't forget that point. And this is brought up in the Kheld forums many times. "Higher highs, lower lows" versus "always reliable, always the same."
And no, that's not bad design. That's *different.*
That's not different. That's inferior.
Ok, LX. I'm done. This is as pointless as it always has been. -
Quote:Kheldians are the only form shifters. Kheldians are the only AT that loses performance when not using tray swapping keybinds. Kheldians are the only AT that benefits from tray swapping keybinds. Players may use the tray swapping because they don't want 3 trays on their screen, but they wouldn't become slower and thus weaker by not using them.
Prove it. Prove it's not an overall bug that happens to show up more frequently with Kheldians. Prove that it's the design of the kheldians themselves causing the bug, not something else.
This is why the bug is tied to the design. -
Was it bad design to have SR Elude be a phase shift power that stopped you from attacking? Apparently so as it was changed.
Was it bad design for controllers to lack any kind of meaningful damage output? Apparently so as it was changed.
Was it bad design to have a 3 gazillion second animation that looked like a cat on acid attacking the living room curtains as the tier1 attack for claws? Apparently so as it was changed.
There is a huge difference between attacking bad design and stating something sucks.
I'm doing the former while many are attacking me for doing the latter.
There's not a single person here that can say with any level of honesty that a PB is in any way comparable to a WS when comparing the two in their entirety. We all know this is false. The PB may start out stronger but it is quickly surpassed.
This is bad design. Does this mean that PBs suck and can't get through normal content on normal difficulty? Of course not. We've already covered that. Does that mean that we should just sweep all the poor design under the rug and call it WAI? Of course not. This game doesn't and shouldn't work that way. -
Way to ignore that first point, man. And you attack other people for selective reading?
In the Khel case, I will hold long existing bugs as a ding against the design, when the design of the set itself creates the existence of the bug in question.
When the bug is fixed, either by changing the design or fixing the bug, I'll yell yay with everyone else.
