Yup. The gimp is strong when you don't take nova at 6. My no-nova PB is 12 now.

Quote:I don't recall that badge needing ghosts and equalizers. There are other PPD out there. You can get that badge at level 1.Ah, but PPD defeats are required if you want a certain Accolade; Force of Nature. 1000 PPD to be exact.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that there are people out there that want the accolades as early as possible, yet only do so while solo and only as the spawns in question "naturally" come up in the game....
But then we're right back to mascochism for the sake of masochism.
Quote:Yes, I know. I have more villains than heroes. But don't you think avoiding an enemy or changing your play habits denotes a larger problem? -
That order is the problem. And it's not just a problem for Body Mastery. Why is targeting drone tier 2 and focused accuracy tier 1 when they're identical buffs? Why is Nightfall using the scrapper ranged damage modifier when all the rest of them use the melee modifier?
That's two examples. Just for scrappers. What percentage of scrappers out there use the APPs at all? Of those, what's the % breakdown for each APP?
The devs felt the need to make changes to the APPs. I find it HIGHLY unlikely that the changes made any substantial difference in their use.
Burn it down. Start from scratch. Let's get some logic and fairness in place instead of the mess we have now. -

If you advocate the initiation of violence, you are not an anarchist. You are an authoritarian, or just a sociopath.
There is nothing I know about the anarchist political standpoint that precludes sociopathic violence.
I see no reason that I can't be both an anarchist and sociopathic. -
Hey... someone worked really hard drawing and coloring that with colored pencils. You be nice.
...
That IS a drawing, isn't it?
Please tell me that's a drawing and not a screenshot.
On topic, still waiting for the ability to have talons instead of back-of-palm mounted claws. -
Quote:Noted. File updated to "ummm, no."I've changed my opinion about that since then. Hadn't fully though through all of the ancillary things connected to swimming...namely using powers and hit reactions. Seemed feasible at first thought, but I now realize there's a lot of outliers I didn't consider that would probably not look good.
Quote:I also haven't yet thought about all of the things that I haven't thought about needing to think about. -
Quote:pbtbtbtbtI think the real question here is how Bill has a character with 46% DEF and 95% DDR at level 20.
The real question is why do people insist on taking those spawns on when they're playing characters poorly suited for it?
There's been several complaints of "but what if I'm on a character that can't take out the ghost fast enough?" Don't take them on. Get the zone badge, save the bank and get the hell out of there. Why subject yourself to more annoyance than you have to? -
I would like to see a complete overhaul of the APP/PPP system. There's just far too much garbage in all of them and the power orders are often illogical (see scrapper body mastery.)
I know all about the cottage rule, but sometimes it really is better to demolish the building and replace it. -
Quote:They'll have access to APPs. Whether the devs will shoehorn in the existing APPs or not remains a question, but I'm betting that's exactly what happens as has been stated by others. It's not moot. From what we've been told, it seems it'll be very possible to permanently move a Brute over to blueside long before getting to 40. Would he then have no epics available at all?
brute get tank
stalker get scrapper
cor get defender
dom get controller
mm get blaster
Maybe. Or not.
Maybe a whole new set of 40+ power pools get created that will be better or worse for each AT.
EDIT: MF's idea, for example, that as a hero brute, you just unlock PPPs without having to go through the villain arcs to unlock them would probably be the easiest road to take considering that they've already tossed out the whole backstory by letting villains respec into whatever pool they want. -

Why yes, I DID look for something that might be always on to stick in there....
-
Very low damage, causes redraw which actually does hurt DPS a LOT, already at the softcap. Its use would be detrimental without offering any benefit.

Quote:On the one hand, I don't run into these guys very often. On the other, I did state that I kill them first. If I don't have enough yellows to at least get me hitting a third of the time or so (which doesn't take much) then I'll bolt until the debuff drops. You must carry a lot of yellows. Five of them would give you +37.5% which would ALMOST recover you from one grenade. You'd need more if you were fighting +1s or +2s.
It's not rocket surgery. -
Quote:Very fast threadjack: 4e alignment system is one of my main gripes with it (admittedly, I have very few gripes with 4e).Quote:
Good: Freedom and kindness.
Lawful Good: Civilization and order.
Evil: Tyranny and hatred.
Chaotic Evil: Entropy and destruction.
Unaligned: Having no alignment; not taking a stand.
As for the OP, I don't see it working like that. Mostly because my main "hero" eats humans. My main "villain" is doing nothing but getting recruits for the inevitable war against the evil creator of all existence. etc, etc.
Manticore seems chaotic good to me. Statesman seems lawful neutral. Recluse lawful evil. Mako chaotic evil. Rather bounces all over the place. -
-
Don't know about him, but I just make damn sure the ghosts die first. If they do get the tohit debuff off, I pop yellows.

From what's been stated so far, I believe at level 20 you get booted out of Praetoria, making the question moot.
I hope that changes. Depending on how good looking the new zones really are, some of us might just wish to stay there until 50.
However, it doesn't appear that this will be the case at all.
Mmmm... brutes with conserve power and physical perfection. That'll be nice. -
The various ATI related bugs have never be placed into the known issue list.

I find it interesting that I'm far more offended by the prudish people attempting to shove their inane morality and judgments on others under the guise of "enlightening those that haven't read the rules" than I ever am by those that color their language in any way they see fit.
This "guide" shouldn't exist. The rules are present for any and all to read at game sign in. The forum rules are stickied all over the place.
This isn't a guide. It's a soapbox. And a useless one at that.
