New Build for Bill Z

Howdy my brothers and sisters in scrapping,

After a bit of soul searching, and not finding one, I decided that the days of Bill Z not flying needed to come to an end. I had planned to wait until I got the 60 month vet badge but that's too far off and I'm itching to respec.

My current playstyle with Bill has shown me that for the time being, it's time to dump shockwave and go with eviscerate.

The build has the following points going for it:
Softcapped without turning on hover
26.5 HP/sec regen
1848 HP (a lost of about 20 HP from my current build)
3.91end/sec recovery without clicking on conserve power
17% S/L DR
95% recharge buff with hasten removed from the build
12.5 global damage buff

Mids isn't showing me any overslotting.

The attack chain for this build for hard single targets is Followup, Slash, Focus, Eviscerate. If I did the math correctly, I should be pushing 205 DPS. (fingers crossed)

Followup has a chance for buildup
Slash has a chance for dam-res debuff
Focus has a chance for buildup
Eviscerate has a chance for dam-res debuff

Here's the data chunk. Please yell if anything jumps out at you as broken before I pull the trigger and respec tonight.

Thanks much,

I am jealous of all the purple sets.

Why not go with a Perf Shifter +endmod in Physical Perfection? You can run and hover a little faster.

If you put crushing impacts into Follow Up you can get to 100% recharge. I am not sure why you have 5 mako's in there.

I went to eviscerate about a month ago and have not missed Shockwave at all.

... That's why I posted the build. Fixed and thanks!

And if I find that I'm overkill on recovery, I can always 3 slot phys perf with 3 miracles, too.

I'd take a slot out of a passive (Dodge?) and put it into Health as a lvl50 Heal IO. That'd be a net +30% regen boost.

Hmm.
Current HP and Regen and AoE Defense: 1848 and 26.5 and 45.5
With your change: 1838 and 28.7 and 44.3

What would I notice more? The regen gain or the loss of HP and AoE defense?

Oh... that's taking it from Lucky. If I take it from dodge instead: I stay at 46% melee def gain the regen, and lose the 10 HP. That I could see doing.

Side note: I'm worrying about the loss of shockwave. That's a LOT of mitigation I'm giving up and I won't know until I do it whether keeping enemies close for spin/eviscerate will increase death dealing time enough to cover that loss of mitigation.

EDIT: Oh hell... thanks Sarrate. Having me look at the passives made me realize that I had only slotted 4 of the 5 LotG +recharges I have. Hmm.

Put the 5th set of LotGs into Agile.
Dropped lucky to a single basic IO.
Melee: 46.7
Ranged: 45.9
AoE: 44.1
This is still without turning on Hover.
28.9 regen
1842.6 HP

Niiice.

My personal feelings when I went to evis was I had more streamlined attack chains. And evis is such a huge angle cone, I easily get my max 5 out of it. I just wish we could hit 10 targets with it.

I usually go with FU, Focus, Evis, FU, Spin, focus, evis, FU, Spin, etc for my AoE. I like to spin once I double up my FU. I also have a chance for BU in Focus so I like to use it in the chain.

If I have 2+ bosses on me, I go all out every attack, making sure I have double FU before I spin. The main boss goes down quickly while I still do some damage to the surrounding mobs. by the time the boss is down all the minions and most Lts are already out as well.

I only do +2/8 on my settings though. since you like +4, you may miss the mitigation shockwave brought you.

(I feel +2 is most efficient kill/time ratio for me)

I run +2/x8 right now since I'm farming. +4/x8 is for when I'm feeling mean.

I hear you. I have run +4 and its great fun but takes a little work to keep ahead of the damage.

Came home for lunch. Pulling the trigger on this build as per the last post. Looks good enough. And I wanna fly!

You got six on the 9% Acc.
Dropping a slot from Agile and since you have CP maybe pull out a slot from Stamina. Put those 2 slots on Lucky and 3 of Serendipity should get you cap to aoe and add 10 more hp with 4% Regen .

Or you could just drop the Kismet unique in place of Lotg def/end/rech on Focused Fighting for even more accuracy.

I notice on my Claws/Energy Brute that I've muscled up to 47 I only use Shockwave as an opening attack to clump the spawns together or on teams when I know the knockback effect has been canceled out.

That's as long as their isn't any Psi damage around, my 31% ranged def is ok for Ranged protection but not enough to drop Shockwave on my Brute. Blue side I could see going without it, but I play with difficulty setting a bit lower typically.

Saw another tweak. I replaced the chance for negative damage in FU with a basic lvl 50 damage IO. DPS went up by 1 point. No loss of anything useful by going from 5 Makos to 4.

And there's something else.

On each of slash, focus, eviscerate, if I drop the damage/recharge purple and replace with the straight damage purple, I get another 5 DPS. Still have enough recharge for the chain mentioned earlier.

On paper I'm up to 210 DPS but the pylon run I did at lunch didn't seem to agree. However, I might have just been unlucky on the procs.

Dropping Physical Perfection and replacing it with Assault bumps me up to 216 DPS.

EDIT: Got back home.. only change I made to the build I posted up above so far was replacing the neg energy proc on FU with a SO damage enh.

Got 8:29 on a pylon. That's 203 DPS.

That's the first time I've ever topped 200 DPS with Bill. (Ignoring outside buffs, of course.)

Followup after playing with the new build for a while:

1: I miss shockwave's mitigation.

2: I love eviscerate's damage, the wide cone, the extra chance to crit, pushing me past the 200 DPS barrier, how spawns melt when doing my followup, eviscerate, spin, repeat attack chain, how bosses melt from followup, slash, focus, eviscerate, repeat...

And yet I still hate the animation so much that I want to dump eviscerate from the build already.

Madness. Just plain old madness.

You lost me at "still hate the animation".

I just don't understand.

Heh...I love the animation so much.

Some questions however...

Why the Build Up Proc in Focus?

Why not the PvP IO Proc for Toxic Damage? Or the Heal Self PRoc?

If you're really willing to go all out and use the PvP IO sets, you might consider replacing three of the LotG set, with the same three IOs of the PvP IO Defense Set. More +HP that way.

Or maybe just on one of them, as that will stop you from repeating the +9% ACC.

Physical Perfect, maybe change the Performance Shifter: END MOD to the Heal PvP IO Proc for a chance at a +HEAL and +END.

Just some thoughts. Expensive ones at that, but your build seems to be going the way of expensive, but that just might be to expensive.

Probably because, when running an unbroken attack chain, the Chance for Build Up will usually trigger right before Eviscerate.

I have one on my claws scrapper too, actually I have 5 Decimations in Focus, with a generic Damage IO filling the 6th slot. That is because I wanted the recharge bonus and I'm too broke for purples.

Why the buildup proc in focus versus the toxic damage proc:
The current build on paper does 205 DPS. Against a pylon last night, I hit 203.
If I remove the CFBU in focus and replace it with the PvP Toxic Proc puts me on paper at... 205 DPS. heh. No change at all. But the decimation cfbu is vastly cheaper.

The chance for self heal isn't worth slotting. 10% chance of a 5% heal. I don't know if that's base HP or current HP, but we'll go with current. In my chain it would fire off on average once every 69 seconds for 93 HP. That works out to less than 1.5hp/sec when I'm already regening at 28. If it works off of base AT HP, it would be less than 1hp/sec. Damage is bettah! (Maybe, read on.)

I've only got 300mil inf left on Bill, but I'll look into the PvP IOs. Probably wouldn't take too much to get enough for 3 of them. More HP I'll always take.

I'm not sure about the panacea unique. That seems interesting. Pondering it, stacking that on top of the entropic chaos chance for self heal might be benficial enough to notice. And if I'm going to go for broke on this build, I might as well grab the +resist and +def uniques as well.

Stuff to ponder. Thanks much.

I probably wouldn't bother with the +res one on SR. 3 percent isn't worth it unless you are invuln or something.

On the one hand, I would agree basing it off of the paltry value. However, at this point we're dealing with a build that is reaching insane levels of min-maxing.

That 3% may seem like nothing at all, but when stacked on to the S/L from Tough and then again on the passive scaling damage resists, it allows me to get That Much Closer to the scrapper S/L DR cap while retaining more HP to get there.

Instead of capping at 2% health I'd be able to hit the cap at 5%!
That's a whole extra 60 or so HP to play with.

I don't know if I'm serious or not.

Did you ever miss? This is despite the misses?

Actually... I don't calculate a 5% chance to miss. Thus the PM I just sent you, Werner.

My assumption was that I had a lucky streak. Knocking 5% off of 205 would have me at 194.75 DPS which my 203 DPS surpassed. Either I was really lucky on the procs, or something else is amiss.

The PM I just sent Werner was wondering if the equations I'm using for the chances for dam-res debuffs and chances for buildup are accurate.

Right now I'm using the following:

CFBU: 1 - .95^(chances in 5.25 secs)
This total is multipled by base damage and calculated in prior to crits just like any other damage enhancement

CFDRD: 1 + (1 - .8^(chances in 10.25sec) * .2)
This total is multiplied by the total calculated DPS after all other buffs are dealt with.

EDIT: I got some info, but now I'm wondering if those are correct.

The CFDRD does not self stack. In my case, I have two separate CFDRDs that would stack. The CFBUs, as far as I know, would not only stack with each other but self stack as well.

Attempting to get verification on that now.
