Also don't forget the Siphon insight proc... Chance for To Hit buff.. always helpful. My other favorite is Razzle Dazzle's Immob proc in OP.

Quote:Marksmen. Marksmen of any kind, especially Council ones because they're a frickin' minion meaning your recharge is debuffed through the floor! A real pain at low levels.
THIS! A Thousand Thousand Times this!.. I don't care what else is in the mob, even Nos or Requiem himself.. these die first! (Also as a side not.. WHO thought it would be fun to put a EB lvl Vamp in a Port Oakes arc? LT. Benchley is a big reason my Dom had the 1st debt badge before lvl 14)
Also... the other big annoyance are PPD SWAT Equalizers. They can't kill me.. but that damn Glue Grenade, Web grenade and acid Mortar will make sure I'm still standing around when the reinforcements show up!!!! GRRRR -
Personally I think the Energy Drain buff was the "dry run" for Energize and I'd be very surprised if Drain did NOLT become a clone of Energize when the set gets Proliferated. As for the turkey that is Conserve Power? I like the lower level Heat Loss clone idea. Maybe add a small unenhancable -recharge and/or -damage component to it to simulate you draining ALL forms of energy including kinetic force? (I'd say no more then 7.5%)

Pretty much any Corr will compliment a Brute. BUT if I had to choose just 1, I'd take a Trick Arrow. Why? Quite simple- the TA can minimize some of the FEW annoyances a Brute can have, Namely.. missing and Runners.
Just have the TA drop a Glue Arrow and a PGA and or Acid arrow then go to town. The Corr just debuffed the mob enough to make anything a non-threat to you. Any runner gets away from you.. the TA will lock it down with a Entangling or Ice Arrow. And.. pairing a Oil Slick Arrow with a damage aura.... holy... -

This is sort of what I figured.. the Mids build I've been tinkering with has me at about 21% Psi Defense with 6% resist.. that should be enough, especially with Darkest Night running
-
Ok, my latest project is a DB/EA brute and he's 19 and so far pretty fun. I know I can soft-cap him fairly easy with Sets, and looking soo forward to 1K Cuts with full Fury..... However I have a question.. Psi damage. EA has NO protection against it?? According to the real numbers, none of my shields give me Psi Defense.. is this right? Can some /EA Brutes out there give me some advice? How do you handle all the Psi damage red-side? Any Pointers?

Quote:OK.. someone needs to write this in AE NAO!* The Thanksgiving Dinner Task Force: Your mother, despite earnest attempts to convince her otherwise, has decided to invite everyone in your family, everyone in the neighborhood and most of the known free world over to the house for Thanksgiving Dinner. Since she has such a super-powered kid she's depending on YOU to go get all the fixin's. Of course, she announced her intentions the DAY BEFORE Thanksgiving, so supplies are low. Fight other desperate, last minute shoppers for cranberry sauce, stuffing, table centerpiece and, of course, the Holy-Grail... The Turkey. The number of reward merits you get is based on how many ingredients you get as well as the poundage of the turkey. Completion of the TF will also award the I'm Thankful It's Over badge and the Pilgrim costume set.

Quote:I did this on my Inv Tanker and yeah.. unkillable on almost anything. I think I'll be doing a similar build on my Brute.. right now I have him built as an AoE monster, but here's what I have:I have a brute specifically designed to negate S/L damage.
With one in invinc range I am at 45% s/l defense, and 70% s/l resist.
He's lots of fun on ITFs, pretty much unkillable there.
Pope
66.80% S/L resist
25.52% Fire resist
23.02% Cold resist
19.24% Energy resist
22.37% Negative resist
18.26% Psi resist
30.50% Toxic resist
12.61% Melee/Ranged defense
18.86 % AoE def
19.06% S/L def (26.14 with 1 guy in range)
19.37% Fire/Cold def (26.14)
19.06% Negative def
13.86% Psi def

Quote:My booster pack wants:
* New Monstrous Heads: different wolf and lizard takes, an insect head, a "slime" head that looks like melting wax, a cardboard box with a face drawn in crayon upon it, a Hilary Clinton mask
* New "Set" Costume Pieces: British Punk Rocker set, Cowboy set (chaps, leather vest, Stetson, holster belt), 60's Love-In Hippie Set (bell bottoms and tie dye), and the Emperor's New Clothes set.... ::whistles innocently::
* New Prestige Travel Powers: Hoverboard/skateboard/jet skates (requires Superspeed), flying surfboard/perma-jetpack/mini-jet (requires fly), spring boots/mini-catapult/swift-kick-in-the-can (requires super jump), hitchhiker's thumb/"beam-me-up-Scotty"/rip in reality's fabric (requires teleport), Free Lifetime Paragon City Bus Pass (requires psychiatric evaluation)
* New Dance Emotes: The Swim, The Alligator, The Macarena, Country Line Dancing and Mosh Pit Dancing... actually that last one could also be a new melee set for Scrappers and Brutes.
* New Costume Change Emote: The "Oops Wrong Closet" emote... basically you go to change outfits but get the wrong one.. in action the character gives a thumbs up then vanishes in a cloud of smoke... the system does a costume creator Randomize and the character appears wearing it.. they scream in humiliation then vanish again to reappear in the correct outfit
DO WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Though if they give us the Hitchhiker's thumb.. we need a towel costume piece! And maybe peanuts and a fish?) -
Good to see there are some DB tanks out there! I made a newbie Fire/DB.. I've played DB to 50 with a Scrapper and a Stalker, so I know the set fairly well.. and the idea of Sweep+Burn seems really sweet. I'm thinking I may just go with the Weaken and Sweep combo.. maybe Attack Vitals if I can squeeze it in...

Welcome to the Dark side my friend! In terms of good defense and Permadom I'd recommend the following Primaries:
Mind, Gravity and Earth- these are possibly the "safest" of the primaries, with Plant right up there as well (thanks to seeds at lvl 8). Mind gives you almost too many toys and grav and earth give you tons of "soft" control (KB, Stuns etc). These sets also tae the widest range of IOs that have Recharge bonuses to achieve Permadom.
As for Assault sets? I'd go with either Energy, Psi, Earth or Elec. Energy got a HUGE buff, Psi became FAR more balanced and no longer is a sucky set that relies on 1 godly power- and Elec and Earth are strong sets out of the box.
Mind/Psi or Mind Energy is the easiest route to Perma, but any combo is achievable.. even Fire/Fire. -
Quote:This is SOO what I have been doing... Bench has been strutting around PI while "Back in Black" plays...Then let's put on some funky music and walk around like we own the place!
My Fire/Fire Dom has been strolling around St Martial to the Talking Heads "Burning Down the House" (stopping to toss the occasional fire blast at certain cords...)
I LOVE IT!!! -
I may be old-fashioned but I only want 2 originals...

Just a classic series update-
The 2nd Doctor finale "The War Games" and the 5th Doctor Black Guardian Trilogy (Mawdryn Undead, Terminus, and Enlightenment) will be released on November 3rd.
Coming up in January is "The Keys of Marinus" (1st Dr.) and "The Twin Dilema" (6th Dr. opener) and later on in the year are a "Myths and Legends" box set (comprising of "The Time Monster [3rd], "Underworld" and "Horns of Nimon" [both 4th]), "Masque of Mandragora" (4th) and "Time and the Rani" (7th opener).
Personally I'm exciteed for Keys of Marinus, Masque and Horn of Nimon. All some of my favorites- and yes I know how BAD Horns of the Nimon is.. that is what makes it FUN! -
Yes, the daleks have been seen "caseless" several times.. "Genesis of the Daleks", "Resurrection of the Daleks" and "Revelation of the Daleks" are your best bets. (Oddly enough.. they really weren't seen till Davros was introduced..)
-
Coloring my Rad/Fire Blaster medium blue and white makes it look like perfect Cherenkov Radiation. I've also seen a beautiful looking Rad/Rad Def using pure white.
-
The only Defense debuff IO you should need is the Achillies proc.. put that in everywhere you can. IF you can get it, the Gladiator's Fury Proc stacks.. and those 2 in all your aoes.. just imagine!

My namesake, Benchpresser. A INV/SS Tank that's been with me since I3, his original build was a mishmatch of SOs and a handful of Hami-Os and he could STILL handle anything in the game, I have no fear of wading into anything, Carnies, Hami, GW, whoever...He will walk out the other side grinning like a madman and another damage badge to show off.
I recently did a 2nd build softcapping his defense with 1 guy in range, and he elevated to Godhood, its scary.. I can go afk on +4 8-man missions now with him. -
I got the same response, and just logged in, and Bingo, got my badge! Thanks Synapse!

I was on the MoBSF run, got the same escalation email.. I'll give it till tuesday- being on a 'help desk" at the weekend doesn't lend a lot of time for detailed research. After tuesday... Yeah, I'll start yelling.
