I do think it's way too soon to tell. Also I19 is going to throw another huge monkeywrench into the markets (with everyone playing their 50s even more and the resultant influx of Purples, INF and recipes) which means they will not settle for a while.
Me? I just casually do my Paper missions till I get 3-5 tips a night. I run at 0/0 level (thinking about changing that to -1/8) and kill everything in the mish- more chance to get purples that way. It usually takes me 100-120 minutes a night. Every time I get 2 HVMs I get a LoTG 7.5 & sell it. I've made 600+ mill including purples doing this. That is on top of using HVMS to IO out 3 toons totally.
The HVMs DO give you a path to getting purples and PVP IOs. Not by gathering up HVMs for them (though you certainly can) but by opening up your revenue stream to allow you to AFFORD to buy what you need! -
BRILLIANT start!!!!! I was really impressed how faithful the show is to the graphic novel while still taking enough liberties to be original. The gore was there when is NEEDED to be, nowhere else- and that right there tells me the producers got the show nailed exactly. The comic has always been about the people, not the zombies. Rick's breakdown in his empty house, Dwayne's inability to kill his dead wife, even Shane's attempt at control/command of the group while showing how ragged he is- all pefectly lifted from the story and beautfully executed.
I was VERY happy they didn't really change any of the "bicycle zombie" scene. (only a minor chage which actually made the scene better) It is the pivotal scene in issue 1 and really sets the tone for the book.
BTW- I THINK it's inferred later on in the series (need to doublecheck) that Shane told Laurie that Rick had perished when the hospital fell- thats why they left him. You are left to decide Shane's motive on this but the rest of his actions make it crystal clear why. -
When I first started thinking, yes, 20 mill to buy hias 1st A-Merit seemed a good idea. However, I want to see what I can make purely from A-Merits (and the sale of what I redeem them for) so really if I start at zero Inf and just give him 20 mill to buy his 1st Merit.. where would I get my listing fee from? I would need to give him 20 mill + a list fee. I guess I could do that too.. just seemed like an extra step. All works out the same I guess though.

I've actually been running 2 of my 50s (my Fire/Fire Dom and my INV/SS Tank) nightly to build up A-merits and using them to buy LoTG 7.5s at lvl 25 and selling them- about a week & a half and I'm around 350 million. (I've been fairly casual about it)
I'm seriously thinking of taking a character, giving him 6.5 million in startup cash and seeing how much I can make JUST with A-merits in 30 days. (I'd vendor everything else entirely and subtract that amount from my total) -
Yeah.. it seems fairly obvious. When you think of the early seminal villains there are only 2 that exhibit warmth and Rage. One is Doc Connors, and the other is Norman Osborne. Connors being the good family man and mentor to Peter and Osborne because he saw Peter as the son he deserved instead of Harry.

Quote:That's actually a nice way of doing it- it allows you to keep the feeling of being a Praetorian while still interacting with the whole game...That's panning out pretty much the way a lot of us were guessing during the GR closed beta - it seems like they're going to keep the content gap in Praetoria, with new Praetorian zones being at a higher level - like 35+ for example.
And now that the war has started, there's lots of scope for Tyrant to send his followers to Primal Earth to spy and carry out sabotage.
And the Logout feature? YES!!!
Sounds like theres a GOOD chuck of content in I19- waiting for the inevitable "but it's not for 50s" whine to start in.. 5....4...3... -
Quote:I can see it now....To keep it with the game's theme, they could call it "CoH: Brand New Day."
"With issue 20, we've added a special contact that can RESET you to level 10, lose all your IOs and bonuses, and wipe out all your past badges. The twist is.. you don't talk to the contact.. a teammate does- without your knowledge.. you just log in and BAM! Strangely.. the contact looks like a cheesy devil/demon ripoff..." -
Actually rule #1 in comics is that Morrison can't write for #$%^. Honestly, the man is embarassing to plagerizing hacks even. His storylines make NO sense, are the worst kind of slapped-together trash you will ever read and he couldn't keep a character "in character" if you handed him the dialogue and just told him to type.
His ideas of a "shocking twist" is to ressurect a piece of silly stupid comic history that everyone has forgotten and claim he's modernizing it or something. (I'm looking directly at his 'Batman of Zur-En-Arrh' ressurect to justify his writing himself into a corner). Seriously- I almost feel embarrassed for the Batman franchise- he's mauling it almost as bad as OMD did for Spidey.
Yeah.. Grayson isn't handled very well, that's true. But he's still being handled with more respect then Bruce's character. I'm sorry... Batman INC???????????? It's almost like Morrison is trying to rip off what Marvel has done recently with Steve Rogers/Cap- and rip it off BADLY.
To be honest Bruce would be a more believable character if he had actually died at the end of Crisis and been one of the ones ressurected by the White Lantern at the conclusion of Darkest Night. That would have kept one of the cornerstones of the DC universe tied to the main "universe" storyline easily. Instead Morrison assumes every reader is a brain dead monkey and will blindly believe he is as awesome as he believes himself to be. -
There are very few 'bad' combos with Doms, all offer lots of Control and Damage. The real questions are these-
1) Do you prefer 'Hard' Controls (like holds, stuns, etc) or 'Soft' controls like sleeps and KB/KD/KU?
2) Do you prefer melee range destruction or to blast your enemies apart from range? -
The most ironic for me? One of the companies he owned makes... wait for it.... Roadside barriers.

I was worried that this season had lost its way.. there really wasn't a lot of arc development in the 1st half.. but WOW! what a bang to end on.. love it!! Mozzie, don't go into the light!
-
I'm not worried about the stunt guy bring overweight, they are shooting a driving gun battle I guess so the cuts will be so fast we won't notice the riders bulk.
I am ok with the costume, I always thought the comic depiction of his WW2 outfit was too.. stylized. BUT that ugly helmet needs to go, I'm sorry.
On the Upside... the director sounds like he knows the pitfalls of 3D conversion- that was my big worry about this film, considering how horrific the conversion is on other films. (you know its bad when you can make crap movie like the Clash remake look even WORSE) Also- I WANT ALL THOSE BIKES AND THE CAR!!!!!!!
(It is nice to see Cap's bike armed. I'm all for this being a comic character who doesn't use guns, but he is a soldier and it IS a world war, so no guns would be a glaring omission to a lot of viewers. Also, for some reason, that Thompson holster strapped to the front wheel just looks damn cool) -
This is beyond tragic, and yes he is a hero. My heart and sympathies go out to the wife and child- they have a very hard sad road ahead.
Also- the driver(s) of that car should be charged with homicide rather then vehicular assault if drugs are proved to be involved. Anything less is an insult. -
So very true.. I thought of 13 after I hit post.. just didn't want to go back & edit. What I should have said is on the whole, they make the attempt MOST times. They have F%^&ed up quite a few times and will likely do so again, they are human after all. (The AE Nuke still annoys me to this day)

The more I think about this, I'm leaning towards the Fitness Inherents being slottable. Why? The Performance Shifter Proc IO. Castle has stated a few times in the past that this IO was designed specifically for Stamina- I really doubt that they would invalidate that popular IO as well as the Miracle, Numina, and Regen Tissue Procs.
(OR at the very least, give each power the default slot only- that would create some interesting build choices...)
As for this being a mini issue AND some people already.. well.. whining about it- welcome to the real world. GR was a HUGE Undertaking on the programming side and the Incarnate System looks just as manpower/resource intensive. Rather then give us nothing till the I system is ready, they are giving us what they have and throwing in some goodies to make up for it. (I wouldn't be surprised if the Fitness idea started as "if this is what we have ready we better give em something quick& easy & what they've asked for"). You must have missed the comment about more Tip missions. If they keep up the level of writing present in the Existing Tip missions- I'll be quite happy.
Not Every release can be a blockbuster, nor can player desires and wants be EASILY translated into content. But I have YET to see a issue release where the devs didn't listen and at least attempt to give as much as they resonably can to playerbase wants. -
Has anyone seen my eyeballs.. they just popped straight outta my head..FITNESS INHERENT????

So.. I19 is called Alpha Strike if I'm reading the Tweet right? Hmmm... I like

A friend of mine who no longer plays used to have a Defender- female toon, max height, athletic build, wearing NOTHING but a fedora and heels. Her name? The Brazillian Waxer.

Quote:The other thing Sho is.. Evac where to??? If the Zombie plague hits fast enough (as implied by Walking Dead storyline) the hospital staff barely had enough time to get out themselves. Also-- no matter how dedicateda nurse/doctor you are..in the face of a zombie apocalypse- EVERYONE'S 'fight or flight' reflex will kick inI always wonder how hospitals get around the "evacuate comatose patients incase of a state of emergency" policy one would think they have. lol Definitely looking forward to this series ( I wonder if I have AMC)

Does anyone know which missions/contacts have the missions that allow you to "switch sides"? I'm trying to get the Moral High Ground badge, but so far have only run into 2 choices, none in Imperial City at all...

Did they forget to turn on the updater when they spun the servers back up? I'm on connect 12 with no luck.. anyone else running into this?

Tough helps WP a lot, Weave less so. I have them both on my DB/EA Brute, and my WP Scrapper, But Weave I would consider optional for a WP Toon, since Heightened Senses covers your defenses to elemental damage pretty good by itself. Anything that pushes up your S/L Resists is a good thing- since WP can get overwhelmed by damage before it's regen kicks in- so every bit that lessens the amount buys you time for your Regen aura to heal the damage.
