  1. Considering the Buffy reboot is the MOVIE only.... she can certainly do both.

(TV execs aren't desperate enough to try a series reboot... yet)

Yeah, I really laughed at NA #7. I still love the book, I gave up on the main Avengers title. It was just... too bad- but New and Secret Avengers still are good enough. I also enjoyed the little awkwardness between Wolverine and Squirrel.
  3. Ok, running into a really annoying problem. Ever since version 1.9 came out... I can only run the program once, on an install. ANY attempt to launch the program after the initial install results in a DB error and the program bombing. Basically, I need to reinstall it EVERY time. I have Windows 7 64 bit and never had any problems.. has anyone else seen this?

    EDIT-

OK, for whatever reason, once I installed the program folder to the desktop, I am fine.. weird.
  4. Well.. good thing all my 50s are Incarnates already....

Pulling him into the hallway IS a viable strategy. just the same as pulling Recluse's lts. away from the square and pulling Reichsman down to a corner and holding him there by Taunt.

If you want to make the fight tougher- what's wrong with setting half the clones to always follow him or boosting his own regen so he's not soo dependent on the clones. Flat out Removing a strategy is a bad decision. I hate to sound like this, but it is a cheap way out.
  5. While running all my 50's through the Incarnate Arc I revisited my dusty elec/elec Brute. Now I had him completely IOed out, built for recharge. (I'm at work, I'll post his data chunk when I get home) So after unlocking his Alpha I decided to take him for a spin. I cranked his diff. up to +0/X8........... And got totally shredded by Arachnos, Longbow, CoT, Malta- basically anyone NOT Rikti. Same at X7, X6, X5, at X4 I was barely surviving.

I can't figure it out... I picked up Tough & weave to see if Tough helped.. same result. Now I did have 27% melee defense as a result of my Sets, so using my 2nd respec I pushed it up to 37%. And all of a sudden he is rolling through X8 missions with the help of a green here and there.

My question is this- Is Electric Armor THAT bad that I need not only Tough but near-capped defense to save it? Have others ran into this? I was orginally thinking the Spiritual Boost to get more Recharge but now I am leaning toward a Nerve Radial to push my defense higher. I just can't believe electric armor is that useless-feeling. I can't seem to drain fast enough to prevent almost instant death from mobs (this is pre-defense).

Just some info- I had and still have the whole Elec Armor set, didn't skip any. Even Power Surge wasn't enough. Just not used to being that ... squishy.
  6. Damn.. there needs to be a trailer or a warning to Internet Comedy threads like this.. I would have made popcorn for everyone- You NEED snacks to read Stupid comedy like this....
  7. Honestly? Roughly 3 hours after unlocking the Alpha Slot on my Dom. I unlocked him (thereby getting 1 Shard) and hopped on a kill all LGTF. Not only was it the smoothest LG I've been on in years (yes even the hostage mission went smooth-no auto-fail here) but I got TEN more Shard drops!!!! Picked up the Hero 1 DNA at the end, Crafted the G-Matter at the Vanguard base, burned 4 Shards to craft my Nictus Fragment and Viola! Cardiac Boost..LOVE IT!

    Ncsoft store

As I said in the official thread in Announcements- this is a total failure on the part of NCSoft, and they couldn't say they didn't see it coming.

When you get continual complaints that your "storefront" is unreliable and bombs out more often then it works.. THEN limit a customer to 3 transactions and then have it crap out after 1.. honestly.. that company doesn't deserve a customer's money- total ********.
  9. Actually.. if they are dumb enough to keep that 3 transaction limit, then they deserve to lose money on this "sale".

I just bought the mac pack (first transaction).. tried to buy the GVE pack.. told me I can't.. so its now down to ONE transaction apparently. I think I'll keep my money then.. what a screwup.
  10. - Looks at City Info-terminal- "Hmm... It seems the number of Stalkers in game have tripled..." (looks at newspaper headline "Peeping Tom cases go through the roof- police baffled" and wonders if there's a connection?)
  11. I think they are deliberately playing up the "annoying overzealous sidekick wannabe" angle on Ames just so the character's transition into a full-rounded person is more obvious. Not sure if that's the right thing to do but it's a bit heavy-handed. She has yet to learn when the "look at me I'm a distraction!!" misdirection is needed and when it's not.

I liked the episode but something still isn't right, can't put my finger on it. Like the reveal about the husband at the end- was that needed? It kind of cheapened the redemption for Chance knowing that the prof was a blackmailer and was gonna ditch his wife and get away with millions...
  12. One of the key elements of the Zombie Apocalypse/Survival Horror resurgence in recent years is the simple fact that no matter how safe you are.. You are NOT safe. Death can come for any character at any time whatsoever. Part of the Zed horror is going to be just how quickly they multiply and swarm. Swarm may sound an odd adjective to describe walking corpses but it fits.

Say a handful followed the car alarm out of the city. Even after the alarm is no longer in range they will continue to stagger in that direction. And others will join along the way because Zombies are mob mentality personified. Once they get closer, it may be the smell of wild game attracts them. The show has done a good job of showing that humans aren't the only thing on the menu-so the smell of a cooking fire, or even just fresh killed game would attract them.

Also- the campers were not very careful about how noisy they were IN camp. OK- good job about making sure that fires were low.. but what about the 4 women laughing down in the quarry doing the wash? You don't think that will carry along the canyon walls as it were? Zombies are single-minded in the extreme. Any noise will attract them, they will zero in on it, or at least turn in that direction and go towards it.

I wouldn't read too much into HOW they got to the camp- zombie horror isn't big on the why.. it's all about the reaction of "oh thank god.. we're safe in this building.. OH $%^& they are in the closets! The basement! wherever! RUN!"
  13. The only Cartoon I want on "official release" more then this is Captain Simian.... Who do I have to kill to get a banana????

    COH cyber monday

I might just pick up the complete GR pack for my other 2 acts just for the goodies and the free month. I'm assuming you can just apply the code to an existing acct?
  15. Shonuff was as succinct as ever, but one problem. What happened to "The Old Man"?????? Even when they showed a recap of the chopper scene he was editted out! I Hope they aren't just gonna drop that story.. he needs to reappear and wrap things up with "junior".

And again.. with Just a few lines.. Guerrero stole the show!! The best Guerreroism of the night?
"Since I believe in every person's right to be tortured democratically you choose which...."

Watch out CoXers, Baron Bone - Daddy is coming!
Jim is correct, I've been doing the same thing, in just over a month & a half I've netted close to a billion infulence between that and selling the drops from the tip missions. I also use H/V Merits to actually get the IOs that are either hyper-rare on the market or just too damn expensive for my tste. For example, I got 2 full sets of Kinetic Combats that way- 2/3s of which came from Merits. (Most IOs are only 1 Merit a piece with rares/proc/triples being 2)
  17. Here's 1 I whipped up on the fly- nowhere near as many pricey Uniques as the other. BUT- you're softcapped to all 3 positions (ok.. AoE is at 44.4%...)and your End consumption is very small. You also get a hefty damage buff. Hasten isn't Perma, but about a 20 sec. downtime.

  18. OK.. I know you don't want to respec but with inherent Fitness and 2 freebies coming you might as well take advantage of it- I used that and did some tweeking without redoing your build.

Gave you 22.5% extra recharge and a bit more damage bonus. The sets I used are pretty cheap, the most expensive IOs I used were the Stupify Acc/Ends And the 1 LoTG 7.5% (Use Hero/Villain Merits to grab them if need be, that's what I do, you can get the LoTG in a few days and the rest just as fast.)

Your End consumption is a bit higher but not horribly so, especially if you're aiming for the Cardiac Alpha.

(Death Shroud will boost your damage a LOT, trust me, and I run my Dark/Dark with that and Cloak of Darkness no problem either)

  20. I've got a decision to make- etheir
    1) A Musculature to try and push my Fire/Fire/Fire Dom's damage even higher

    OR

    2) A Spiritual Core to get either Perma-Hasten or Perma-Flashfire...

    hmmm....
  21. I just thought of something.... With the huge amount of Respecing going on in the next 7 days (assuming they hit the 11/16 deadline)- there's going to be a TON of heroes/villians "just standing around" while their players respec complicated builds....

That means the game really has become "City of Statues" that the Devs once feared so much!!!
  22. If I'm understanding the Alpha correctly.. for a Nerve Radial it's 20% Defense Buff to individual powers, 1/3 of which is beyond ED. That should help my Invunerability/SS tank a bit.. since CJ and Weave should get the full benefit and even Invincibility should get a boost per enemy in range. Even if not- a simple Cardiac boost will go a long way to easing my End worries...
  23. I know I'm a day late and a dollar short but I'd just like to throw this out there...

A Dual Pistols/Storm Corr or Defender. Why DP? The different ammo (representing diff payloads) and the aoe capability of the set. Combine that with the KB "shock and awe" ability of Storm.... Even for ancillary go Power Mastery for the 'toughness' of the crews.
  24. Benchpresser

    Level Shift + KB

If it is like the old unlimited KB... anyone for a round of Shard Reflection Golf in the Cascade?
  25. When the Alpha Slot was on GR Beta, it took me a good 3 days of "grinding" to gather up the 18 or so Shards I needed to make a Cardiac Radial (one of the Uncommon Boosts). And by grinding I mean a weekend of just soloing RWZ missions on my tank. (Running RWZ seemed best since I could get my Shard drops AND gather up the Vanguard Merits I needed to make the Griai'l Matter components)

The shards (at least in GR) dropped like normal salvage drops, a bit faster then Rares. The system is CERTAINLY casual-friendly.
