    a destroyed zone

    [ QUOTE ]
i have 2 50's and i know about the zone changes in RV but i mean like destruction of a zone for an issue and then probably restoration in the next, im just putting my ideas out there and if they can't do that could the construction in faultline at least be finished? lol

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would agree with a smaller application of that idea. Like..

I would like to see Under Construction sites start popping up in Boomtown.

I would like to see a few building actually get damaged or destoyed during Rikti Raids, and see construction crews working on them after.
  2. This topic has been flogged to death in other forum threads.

I'm pretty sure the Devs are aware by now that a good number of us want to have this functionality.
  3. No to pea soup visibility like the Ruladak caves.

Yes to turning the Gamma waaaaaaaay down. Heck I wouldn't mind if the water even had a gentle green glow.

team with controllers that have AoE immobilize. Then KB won't be effective

    [/ QUOTE ]
Gravity is the one exception to that tactic though. Crushing Field does not prevent KB effects.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But Gravity's hold and single target immob grant KB protection.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Except that is irrelevant to the statement I was replying to. The context of _Inc_ 's statement is about an AoE immobilize to counter KB effects in general.

    [Edit]for clarity.

No, Claws is right. You should be able to play until 6PM tomorrow. At least that's been my experience.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I know this to be true because I was trying to submit a forum post at the exact moment my subscription expired. Jun 17, 2009 at 10:39 PM to be exact. I got the "Game Account Expired" email at the exact same time too. Soon after I realized that I forgot to put the new credit card on my account.
  7. Wow, I stand corrected. I tested 2 targeted AoE powers that I thought had a KB spread from ground zero and it didn't. It almost acts more like how a cone attack does.

    Fleeting indeed had it right.

It is moreso about finding mobs that spawned in stupid places

    [/ QUOTE ]

And like I said, as I understand the suggestion, it wouldn't really help with that at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Continuing to say things like this suggest you don't understand it at all.

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
    like say the ceiling.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So you now know the mob spawned in the ceiling. How do you plan to kill them?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Then saying something like this makes me wonder if you spend most of your time in and forums instead of playing the game?

    1. TP Foe
    2. Pets
    3. Location AOE powers
    4. Using a PBAOE taunt and moving out of their attack range often gets them to 'break free' of their confinement.

Even if the foe can't be defeated, at least it can be discovered early rather than running all over the place trying to find that last damn mob. That aside, I was actually talking about when the spawns end up standing on the ceiling girders in some warehouses.

The end of the logfile should say "End of file". Are you sure you posted all of it?

This could indicate a problem. I would download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here, and rescan your system with that. Be sure to completely disable AVG while scanning with Malwarebytes'.

Knockback is [u]ALWAYS[u] radial from caster, no matter what kind of attack it is. ALWAYS. No exceptions.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That may be technically correct, but it is unduly confusing. It's much easier to explain to a non-geeky CoX player that enemies are KB-ed from the point of origin.

With PBAoE the origin is the player. i.e. Foot Stomp
With Targeted AoE the origin is the targeted enemy. i.e. M30 Grenade
With Location AoE the origin is any valid surface set by the player via the targeting 'hypno circles'. i.e. bonfire
  11. Run around on your male characters and do ;getsome to random players.

Aaaaaaand after that I also endorse "Saul Rubenstein's Discount Task Force".
  12. Manticore, is there any history for Wentworth's Fine Consignments? Was it named after a character of the same name, or maybe connected to Hero Corps as they also charge for their hero aiding services?

    [ QUOTE ]
If I'm already on top of the enemies, why do I need to know where they are?

If I'm understanding this a bit more clearly now, I don't even see how this would be particularly useful for finding entire missing groups.

[/ QUOTE ]It's to find leftovers. You've been all over the map 164 times, but there's still a dude standing behind a crate in the corner of that one room off on the side.

Map dots showing up when the fog of war is explored away makes it easier to find the wanderers and sneaky chits.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've never had that problem, honestly. Usually if there's a runner or something they'll default back to their original starting position, at which point a simple backwards run through the map will find them.

When I can't find the last enemy it's usually in places I hadn't actually looked yet or annoying, fragmented spawn points (cave maps, especially).

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is not about runners. It is moreso about finding mobs that spawned in stupid places like say the ceiling. Plenty of players have had this very issue whether you believe it or not.
  14. Yes! Please!

This would be a godsend, considering the number of times I've cursed at the screen while trying to find that last damn mob in a defeat all mission. I think I would almost be more excited if this went live than I was about Epic ATs.
  15. Well, I don't have an iPhone but can't you just uninstall and then reinstall Safari?

I could have sworn that Domination mode used to increase power magnitude by 1?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Inherent_Powers#Domination :
    <ul type="square">
Domination doubles the magnitude of the villain's own Disorient, Hold, Sleep, Immobilize, Fear, and Confuse effects for their normal durations, then keeps them going at normal magnitude for half that amount of time longer. Debuffs and other secondary effects are not improved.[/list]
So, yes, it does increase Magnitude, but not for TP Foe.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Duh, I should have just looked at ParagonWiki. I hardly play my Dominator anymore but I did remember that when Domination was going, if my hold power hit then even bosses were held in one application. Thank you for confirming the former and clearing up the latter for me and anyone else reading this.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
This says it's for technical issues, but I'm not sure if this is the right place. If it isn't, feel free to redirect me. My City of Heroes game is randomly shutting down my PC. I run it on a crappy labtop with 1 gig of RAM and a bad GFX card, but it worked fine when I was playing in safe mode. Recently, however, mid-game, my PC is randomly shutting down, a complete shutdown, nearly instant. This happens on no other games I play.

Sorry if this is the wrong place, but it only happens with City of Heroes. Any advice?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heat issues (and certain other hardware issues) will do a hard shutdown like that. Your best (and cheapest) next step is to get some canned air and see if your vents are blocked.

    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/...showtopic=6962

CoX is a very intensive game, so it's possible that won't fix your issue. If so then the only other options are probably either a new laptop, or a laptop cooler.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Can we bring back the game to it's original purpose?
How much fun is being stunned to death?
How much fun is being slept then stunned to death?
How much fun is it to watch someone that you protected from status effects die because you are stunned or sleeping and have already used your 48 Break Frees?
How much fun is it to fail to do your job because you are stunned?

    See a common theme here?
    FUN!
It is not fun to be able to do nothing, especially when it is your responsibility to protect and buff others.
It is sad that Defenders and Corruptors for the most part are useless in a battle with status effects. We put status effects on others then spend the rest of the encounter stunned or asleep, unless we get unlucky and then we spend it defeated.

The issue is not numbers, calculations or some other off the wall variable, it is FUN! It is not fun to be useless in a fight. Most groups will not let you just exit a mission to get replenish on Break Frees every other encounter.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How fun is it then if everything is mind-numbingly safe?? The changes you're proposing aren't going to happen. Said changes would completely unbalance the strengths/weakness of the various AT's. Instead of directing your energy (and frustration) lobbying for a new power pool, learn how to be more effective with your problem AT's here.

    Galaxy Question

    [ QUOTE ]
I would be far more likely to start in GC if WW opened a branch there than I am now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This. The first time I started a character in Galaxy City and realized there was no WW there, I deleted and recreated the character, then started over in Atlas Park. I can't even find a story reason for there not to be a WW in Galaxy City. So... why isn't there?
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Domination doesn't affect power magnitudes. It affects the length of their effect (as well as increase the damage of your attacks). Disorient, Hold, Sleep, Immobilize, Fear, and Confuse effects will be lengthened by activating Domination.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I could have sworn that Domination mode used to increase power magnitude by 1?
  22. [ QUOTE ]
If I ever get confused in a mission and I'm on a team I take it upon myself to attack the weakest teammate closest to me. I don't have much time. If I'm lucky, I'm on my stalker and I'll turn off my armor's confusion protection and will attempt an Assasin's Blade into their face.

I warn the team ahead of time. Usually at the beginning of a mission with Succubus mobs you will hear this...

"If I get confused, I'm coming for you. Don't be surprised if you get AS'ed."

    They laugh each time...

    I laugh with them...

    Until they hit the floor...

"WHAT THE [censored]! WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!"

"I [censored] warned you. Did you think I was kidding?"

    [/ QUOTE ]

That soooooo appeals to my evil side.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
    hi guys,

so i am trying the trial of city of heroes for the last few days now and i like to give my opinion for so far from my experience. Since i'm not convinced yet if i should buy this game or not.

    [/ QUOTE ]
The beginning of the game is really just the tip of the iceberg for what is to come. Now with the addition of AE, one can fairly easily be distracted away from finding story lines. However, if what you have listed is enough to not try the full game for at least one month, then maybe this game isn't for you after all.

    [ QUOTE ]
    - not really a storyline when you enter the game, you begin and just doing some quests to level
    - it's sometimes pretty confusing where i should go for contact persons

    [/ QUOTE ]
The 'simple' start is meant to expose the player to the different enemy groups. The Outcasts and the Skulls are the 'newb fodder' because they are much easier to defeat. Also, not counting bosses, they don't have mez attacks (holds, stuns, sleeps, etc). As the player level increases, exposure to more dangerous enemies (like those with mezzes below boss rank) start to appear.

The storylines are also 'light' so as not to overload someone that is new. The missions do try to steer the player to The Hollows or Kings Row pretty early. The Hollows has LOTS of story and introduces the Trolls (and eventually Frostfire). Frostfire gives the first cut scene sequence in the game to my knowledge. The first Trial in the game is also unlocked here.

    [ QUOTE ]
    - since i don't have flying yet the traveling is a pain and boring

    [/ QUOTE ]
In Kings Row one can do Police Radio missions and thus work up to defending against a bank robbery, which is called a Safeguard Mission (the villain version is called a Mayhem Mission). These earn the first travel powers of Raptor Pack (mission obtained at lvl 5-9) and the Zero G Pack (mission obtained at lvl 10-14).

    [ QUOTE ]
    - from my experience not really much ai with the enemy's and see always the same on the streets. gangs standing by each other or criminals are robbing a women from there purse or break in to something. not much variation to that.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Oh just wait. The AI doesn't change drastically, but the additional powers and tactics of the higher lvl baddies make things much more interesting.

My advice to new players is to try to skip ALL AE CONTENT until after their first character. That way you have a better idea of how 'normal' game play works and won't be so confused by the differences between 'normal' and AE.
