Option to turn off email completely

I'd like to be able to remove the ingame email system from my characters completely. This would a. Hide me from RTM spammers, and b. free up my ignore list, which I could then fill with people who send me tells asking if I want to join farms.

If email was able to be turned off, wouldn't spammers simply switch to sending offline tells? It's easy enough to find out a person's global handle.

I'm pretty sure the Devs are aware by now that a good number of us want to have this functionality.
