    This.

    Double That.

    I wish Mid the best.

    [ QUOTE ]
Also, what will this setback do for development of an I14 update?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Way to break the mood... just giving you a hard time.

But you know you can go into Mid's and edit in enhancements you want, may be a little tough for PvP enhancements but regular ones really aren't that hard to do.

    Villain Empaths?

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
It does not make sense. Many villains believe they are good guys you know? Like nazis surely thought of themselve as the good guys during the WW2 back then.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Nazis, and the majority of Villains I've seen have the attitude of Might is Right. In other words. I'm powerful enough to take whatever I want.

That very attitude precludes the possibility of empathy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That may have been the thoughts of hitler himself but I doubt all of his followers felt that way.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This. Infact I was just watching the History channel about Operation Valkyrie. The same people who planned operation Valkyrie were Hilter's own generals and colonels. They believed that what Hilter was doing was the right thing, but didn't think what he was doing to Jews was an okay thing. Plus it took Hilter years and years to brainwash people into thinking what they were doing was right.

That aside, we only have enough information to speculate. And at this early of a stage major changes could happen, it is quite possible the devs don't even have it all mapped out yet. So until more information is released all we can do it guess.

It could be an alternate universe you go Rouge in. Or it could be an alternate reality. Maybe just certain zones you are allowed to be Rogue in.

    AE Teleporter?

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
... or alternately, if you're on a team, treat it like a train mission. Go to the nearest AE building, hit the stream, and be there.

    Either one's good with me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
It takes an investment in time and inf to get all the salvage and recipes you need to unlock the accolade.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Exactly, and it isn't global so why should another accolade which is even more useful be?

    [ QUOTE ]
If you have 5000 tickets stocked to claim

    [/ QUOTE ]
By the way you don't need to stock pile them too 5000, each one that is from ratings is counted and you can claim them as you go.

    [ QUOTE ]
You need to visit a location in the MA building, open up a mission with a custom enemy and press "save", and play 50 arcs. Or, play somebody's turbo-completion for badgers only arc (a small map with a required captive that spawns with no guards) 50 times.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not very hard compared to Field Crafter ehh?

    [ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure how much of an exploit that is.

    [/ QUOTE ]
If it was an exploit it would have been changed in one of the patches, right now it is as much of an exploit as it is to farm for heal badges or rep badges. Better hurry up because Posi said some badge changes will be happening.

    [ QUOTE ]
But regardless, that's 100 zone loads.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Took me 45 mins. Mission Engineer was one of the fastest badges I've earned before. You could have had it a few times by now. Just because it takes forever to get something doesn't mean all toons should get it. What if that were to happen to Purples?

    [ QUOTE ]
I'm willing to put up with trivial tasks (explore badge, customizer) if they're also short. But if I'm rolling a new lowbie to make sure my arc is lowbie-friendly I have to zone 100 times before I can edit things in the arc? That's going to take more time than I could save with the notepad.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well here, take that notepad, type out spots you need to fix, at the end of the mission edit those spots. And it wouldn't take you more time, if anything it'd be the same time, you'd still spend time playing the arc and you'd still spend time editing...

Also you must not like accolades much if you're only willing to put up with an exploration or a badge you can get in 10 seconds.
  8. Well we know it is "Early this summer" so I am guessing By July 6th or earlier.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
This accolade lets me open the architect editor to make changes to a mission while I'm testing it. (admittedly they won't actually TAKE until the next time I play the mission, but for fixing typos in dialogue or errors in group assignment it helps to have these things in front of you.)

    [/ QUOTE ]
And Field Crafter allows me to use up my salvage and recipes while in a mission so I don't have to leave to go craft them when I get full.

    [ QUOTE ]

Sometimes I want to roll up a lowbie or use a stalker I rarely play, to see how the custom enemies or mission objectives work for them. I lose the ability to use the live architect editor until I play 50 arcs on these characters, which I will agree can be done trivially for badge purposes. But if badges are trivial, then why bother at all? (similarly Customizer is trivial - open up a local mission with a custom enemy in it, hit save.)

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes badges are trivial. I think they shouldn't be global at all, just my opinion, kind of like anniversary badges not being global, that toon earned the badge, why should a new toon or a toon that didn't do anything get it?

But they made some of the limited badges global like the Author or Recognized series, where you getting the badge counts on other players.

    [ QUOTE ]

The "live edit" feature from Mission Engineer doesn't make sense to unlock on a per-character basis, unlike accolades which change individual characters, like Demonic and Eye of the Magus, because first it's tied or can be tied to global accomplishments, and second it affects things that the account does as a unified whole - testing and editing architect missions.

    [/ QUOTE ]
What about Field Crafter? All accolades effect you in some way. If one is to be made global I would demand that all be made global.

    [ QUOTE ]
If it were an individual accolade that required globally-obtainable badges that would also work.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Basically is already.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
    No. Like These:

    [/ QUOTE ]

I get your point on those but, Escapist would be part of "Things of that nature."

It would naturally come as you play through AE content, even your own.

As for Mission Engineer, it is an accolade, accolades should not be global unless all of them are made global.

If Synapse comes through with making customizer badge being made global (like it is much of an effort to get) all you will have to do it walk to an exploration marker, and play 50 arcs which is not that many.
  11. [ QUOTE ]

The only caveat I would have would be play through badges. Like the destroyer badges and rescuer. Things of that nature.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kind of like... Play 50 player created story arc in the Mission Architect building to earn this badge. - Aka Escapist?
  12. [ QUOTE ]
That's great for you, but do you think that everyone is willing to do that

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well if you're a badge hunter you'll do most things for a badge. I really want that
Disruptor badge but it takes forever to get. And wah-wah-wah I'm going to say, "I'm not going to farm for it either because it isn't the right way to get it, just because you can get it fast doesn't mean I want too, and do you think everyone is willing to do that? so... "That's great for you"

I would guess everyone is willing to do that because everytime I bring up Disruptor or Back From the Future that tell me to farm for it, so I guess we are willing to farm for it. City of Farm, bring a tractor and your overalls.

And even if I did get it on my Fire/Emp, it wouldn't be global. Same with most badges... IE: Day Jobs, Archmage, Field Crafter, Stouthearted.

Sure make all badges global and I'll sign this, or at least all accolades.

    [ QUOTE ]
Like the people who've filled up every slot on several servers?

    [/ QUOTE ]
36 toons on Champion (levels 14+), 13 toons on Virtue, 12 toons on every other server.

    [ QUOTE ]
Do you realize how self-centered you're being by shooting down a suggestion because it isn't an issue to you, personally?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Guess I'm being pretty self-centered. DAMN YOU DEVS WE WANT BADGES GLOBAL NOW! (pretty please make Disruptor a little easier too) - Now that is one hell of a suggestion, doubt it will happen though, highly doubt it.
  13. Yeah I believe it was synapse who said he was looking into making Customizer global. And from there, if it happens, 3/5 badges would have the ability to be global, leaving Thrill Seeker (AE exploration) and Escapist (Play 50 Arcs)
  14. Well I stopped into this thread to see what was up. I remember seeing an epic post by Mighty that just needed to be posted here, and it needed its own thread because of the epicness.

Mighty Big Conspiracies - Volume I, Issue 1

    "City of" Conspiracy Theory #1

    - Moderator 08 and the Great War of the Mods -

These words were found to have been written in impervium ink on an unobtanium tablet. We here at Mighty Big Conspiracies decline to partake in speculation as to their meaning but have reprinted them here for your edification.

What follows is an exact reprinting.

    FREEM!

The world is changed: I feel it in the water, I feel it in the earth, I smell it in the air...Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it.

It began with the forging of the Forum Rings.

Three were given to the Devs, immortal, wisest...fairest of all beings. Seven to the Fanbois, great miners of data and craftsmen of builds. And Nine...nine rings were gifted to the clique of PvPers who, above all else, desire power.

For within these rings was bound the strength and will to govern each clique.

But they were all of them deceived.

    ...for another ring was made.

By the hand of Emmert, in the fires of Cryptic Studios, the Dark Lord Jack forged in secret a Master Ring to control all others... and into this Ring he poured the ability to lock posts, the might of the banstick, and his will to dominate all aspects of the game.

One Ring to rule them all...

One by one the Free forums of “City of” fell to the power of the ring. But there were some...who resisted.

A last alliance of PvPers and Fanbois marched against the armies of Emmert. On the slopes of Cryptic Studios they fought for the freedom of the forums. Victory was near! But the power of the Ring could not be undone.

It was in this moment..when all hope had faded, that CuppaJo, sweet angel of mercy, light, and NCSoft, took up her thickest mug. Jack, the enemy of the Free Peoples of the Forums, was defeated.

The Ring passed to CuppaJo...who had this one chance to destroy evil forever. But the hearts of NCSoft are easily decieved. And the Ring of Power has a will of its own. It betrayed CuppaJo by serving her tea, forcing her to change places of employment.

And some things that should not have been forgotten...were lost.

    History became legend...legend became myth.

And for two and a half thousand years the Ring passed out of all knowledge. Until, when chance came, it ensnared a new bearer!

The Ring came to the creature Lighthouse, who took it deep into the forums of “City of”. And there, it consumed him. The Ring brought to Lighthouse unnatural long life. For a couple of years it poisoned his mind. And in the gloom of Lighthouse's cave... It waited.

Darkness crept back into the forums of the world. Rumor grew of a Shadow in the Champion forums...whispers of a nameless fear. And the Ring of Power perceived...its time had now come. It abandoned Lighthouse.

But something happened then the Ring did not intend... It was picked up by the most unlikely number imaginable... A number 08....Number 08 of the Moderators.

For the time will soon come when Moderator 08 will shape the fortunes of all.

As has been stated, the above is a transcription. Draw your own conclusions. We will leave you with one question, though:

    What happened to Moderators 00-07?

(Please give your thanks to Mighty.)

  16. [ QUOTE ]
Maybe smack talk will go down too?

    /signed, great idea.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

    Hey Sonic!
  17. I can play 50 arcs in 45 mins. I have 5000 ticket badges globally. Like the invention system badges and accolades are optional, if you don't feel like putting in the effort or it is a waste of time you don't have to collect them.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
lets not get off topic. lets just start with the idea of city scenery and space

    [/ QUOTE ]

Off topic? The topic is "Supergroup Scenery".

As for the suggestion, I would like this just if it were a wall hung detail with a looping display/animation of something going on outside of the base. I wouldn't care if it happened by camera or by looking like actual views.

I would imagine sets from each zone awarded for getting all exploration badges in the zone. Then extra jungle, underwater, space, north/south pole, sets which could be added in later.

    /signed
  19. [ QUOTE ]
Should just give you a temp power based on your origin. The tech people get a short duration raptor pack, etc. Science / Natural get an energy drink or something that makes them run faster for awhile. Magic get a short range teleport power. Mutation, I'm not quite sure there lol.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's not a bad idea, I think Magic should get a magical fly, which is granted by a potion.

Mutants they could get a Super Jump type power and their genetically altered bodies allow them to jump great heights naturally.

Natural would be the energy drink, yeah.

Science I think some sort of a chemical drink would fit better.

But still travel is way easy.
  20. This isn't a bad idea, but I don't think this alone would be appropriate. And that is if they don't stop at 60 months like everyone suspects.

    [ QUOTE ]
Bah, as one of the many, many, many people who will never catch up to the latest vet reward, I'd hate to see such a QoL improvement be tied into something I can't do for another 33 months. I'd love to have the full list of origin-specific titles available to all my characters, but I'd hate to see it restricted.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well for something like this it shouldn't just be handed out, maybe once you hit 50 you talk to a special trainer (Maybe War Witch in Pocket D) and she gives an arc or TF to do?
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Does anyone actually have any idea how badges will work? I seriously DONT want to lose my 500+ heroside badges, but I would love to be able to get the hero and villian badges....

    [/ QUOTE ]

No one does, the devs might not even have it fully planned out yet.

CO lets you have your travel at 5. And they're all really -weird-. Teleporting basically phase-shifts you and then gives you super-speed for it's duration... Really weird.

How about setting up the initial powers of the travel pool as a first level option? You can choose -not- to have a power from your secondary at level 1 to instead have a travel power?

Sure, Tankers and Defenders would be a -lot- harder to solo without a starting attack outside of brawl... But I think it'd be neat?

    -Rachel-

[/ QUOTE ]I don't care about what that -other- game has. I think that -other magical game- has bird you can fly on or something, does that mean we should get some birds and stuff? How about we all the game City of Other Game? Plus that -other game- is crap.

[/ QUOTE ]Just wanna point out that Rachel was talking about Champions Online, which lets you choose almost-uncontrollable travel powers at level 5, and not World of Warcraft, which lets you choose sprint-speed travel powers at level 30 (that you usually have to spend gold on, both training and the mount itself), with possible upgrades at higher levels.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I know. I'm in the *cough* beta *cough* it is crap. I don't think other games should come up on the CoH boards though...

But I was meaning I don't care what CO has. And just because WoW has birds and stuff you can fly on does that mean we should copy them?
  23. [ QUOTE ]
    <QR>

Everyone gets a travel power at level 1 - it's called "Sprint". It's a good way to learn aggro range and see the city.

Plus what the others (especially Lothic & M_B) said.

    /unsigned

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

Level 14 is not hard to get to at all, you can go over to your local AE building and hop on a team and get there in 30 mins from level 1. Or hop on a sewers team have tons of fun down there and stay for the whole tour.

Aside from that *having* to take a travel to get around efficiently helps to balance, if you don't take a travel well you may find it tough to get around, but you get a couple more powers. If you do take a travel you'll find travel much easier, but you have to spare at least 2 powers.

Also in every issue since i9 they have been making travel easier and easier, I can't stress it enough.

<ul type="square"> [*][u]Issue 9:[u] Wentworths Teleporter[*][u]Issue 10:[u] With the revamp of Rikti Crash Site we had 3 enterances put in, in Atlas Park, Founder's Falls and Peregrine Island. You can now travel between these zones in 2 loading screens. [*][u]Issue 11:[u] With the introduction of Ouroboros you can now place an O-Portal and travel to a number of places in 2 loading screens. You can also reach any of the green line zones by going from Ouroboros --&gt; Talos Island --&gt; Green line.

You can also start an Ouroboros arc, then teleport to the contact then quit the arc as a means of travel.[*][u]Issue 12:[u] With the introduction of the Midnighter's Club you can use it as a travel hub between the universities.[*][u]Issue 13:[u] With the introduction of day jobs it is now easier than ever to get a Raptor pack, no effort required, just make sure to log out in the day job that awards it.[*][u]Issue 14:[u] What a dream? With the introduction of Architect Entertainment in issue 14, you don't even have to step foot out of the AE building you can level 1-50 without leaving Atlas.[/list]
There are so many ways to travel you don't even need a travel power to get around any more.

    A Green Room

    [ QUOTE ]

#3. This idea is fairly simple to execute. It is a combine of the SG base ability to have lots more than 8 people on an instance, the costume editor with unlocked full costumes that are in the game for NPC characters for that particular section, and MA. It requires relatively little coding in comparison to most of the things suggested and includes the most over all benefits.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Come on... you implying that you have worked with City of Heroes and its coding and that you know how to code as well?

If not then you have no idea of the simplicity.

Also, I never said machinima isn't a good thing out of the game, never said machinima is useless, I was implying that this feature in-game would be useless.
  25. No one but the devs know so it is useless to ask. Everyone seems to have the answer or are telling it how they would want it to be, but people don't understand the info hasn't been released yet.
