  1. oh, and to answer the OP, I agree with a few others that it should be One of the Penelope Yins.

Actually, this could make for a cool trial concept: Praetor Tilman's about to devour Penny's mind, the result will give her the psychic power she needs to fully enslave Praetoria.
To stop her, your trial team must fight their way through Mother of Mercy Hospital to deliver the mask to Penny and give her the strength needed to defeat Tilman.

The fun part is that one member of the trial will randomly be selected at the beginning to wield the power of the mask, you will get a similar icon above your head as the Desdemona leading icon, if you are defeated or disconnected/quit the trial the mask will automatically move onto another player.

But it's not enough to just have the mask, to help people through the trial and through Mother Mayhem's inner sanctum, you must USE IT.
While you wear it (effectively becoming 'it') you will gain several powerful new powers to help your teammates and crush the IDF and the Seers.
But power comes at a price and with responsibility. While wearing the mask your max HP, regen, and recovery take a dive, and every IDF soldier will do their damnest to kill you (massive taunt aura), and most importantly of all, you must occasionally 'burn yourself out' to unlock some doors that are psychically locked, automatically defeating you and causing the mask to jump to another.

The extent of the data Aeon looks at is everyone's highscores. He spends a lot of time running through AE stuff trying to keep his score in the number 1, 2, and 3 spots.
  3. I think we can all agree that there are many characters in this game we want to punch in the face but never get a chance to.

An interesting run was my katana/will brute on Exalted, when I had her run the arc, I had her kill Aaron, not out of revenge, but because she has a fairly strong, traditional Japanese outlook. (Zaibatsu heiress) In this case: gaining a measure of atonement through death.
She originally considered just arresting him and basically looking down on him as someone too worthless to stain her family blade on, but when she learned he HAD actually kept Matthew Hashaby and the prisoners alive, she felt he did have a chance at redemption, just not in this life.
And so, in a single swift cut, she took his head.

  5. Actually, I was able to appreciate it because until the trial, I felt Desdemona was rather underused, especially compared to Maelstrom who appears in multiple story arcs and multiple tip missions.
Oh, and one of those story arcs doesn't even need the GR expansion anymore.

Desdemona appears in some tips and now a trial.

Problem is, I just don't really know all that much about the well beyond it giving great powers to those who have it. Is it just open to interpretation, or is there some kind of rules here?
Well, Marcus Cole and Stephen Richter used the Well to help cure Marcus of his Mustard Gas poisoning.
Plus, who's to say that in the CoH-verse, the Fountain of Youth wasn't another aspect of the Well?

So I think you're well within the lore for something like that.

Though I do wonder, if the Well suddenly withdrew all of it's support from Statesman, would he suddenlt be dying from Mustard Gas poisoning again?

Is Positron content to merely monitor its usage, or will he start actively investigating its purposes, especially with Crey Corp.'s involvement?

Besides, having the Architect Studio Manager bug new characters to visit then never have any other missions for them seems like a waste of an NPC.
Actually, this is touched briefly on in the Dean MacArthur arcs when you're retrieving the Crey scientists.
Basically Crey, who helped out with AE, are trying to get Aeon to let them access the data of the meta users of AE for the safe of their Reverent Hero Project.
    Surprisingly, Aeon's refused.
I'd more likely wager Aeon isn't doing it out of moral integrity but rather fearing Crey using data of him in the AE systems to possibly create a someone even smarter than him.
  8. So I was working on a dark/mental blaster build and looked over burnout as a possible power choice, the prime reason for this would be to instantly recharge Drain Psyche.
Now here's the big question, because of burnout's nature, would this allow me to stack Drain Psyche castings? (which in turn would theoretically result being able to hit drain psyche, black star, blue inspie, burn out, drain psyche again, then follow up with a second black star?)

And while we're on the subject, what powers can we stack with Burn out? I know some are programmed to NOT be stackable, others are, and others we don't know purely because we've never been able to recharge them fast enough to test.

    Heroic Patrons!

These organizations work on both sides of the fence, so it would feel a bit odd for them to be the "heroic patrons".

    My suggestions would be:
-Change Midnighter wand mastery into Legacy Chain "Arcane Mastery" some power changes might be needed.

-Change Vanguard into Longbow and the name can become "Special Agent Training", powers will likely need to be adjusted.
You might also consider instead basing the set off of the PPD.

What's interesting about that last example is that it was less of a matter of being close to the Super Heroic genre and seemed more like being on the flipside of a Task Force finale. YOU are the super powered AV who's about to get faced down with a team a heroes, it was a delightful scenario and I hope to see more like i in the future for villainside.

Now for the OP, I must admit that I feel a bit the same, what we really need is to make much better use of a tier of enemies we already have but seldom use: The Underling.
Even at an Underling's strongest (+5) it still has only a third of the HP of a minion and can be one-shotted by most ATs with ease.
With underlings as the most basic of mooks, minions move up to being the much more intimidating but not much more competent mooks, but about there it becomes hazy where one would put thing.
Lieutenants could be Elite mooks? But where does that leave bosses? As quirky mini-bosses or mid-bosses? But isn't that what Elite-bosses are for?
Though in theory, Elite-bosses and AVs are supposed to be fairly close together tied as people who are either lieutenants of the leader of an organization, or the leader themselves.

I think I just kind of made most of my own post pointless, so I guess to summarize: yes, more Underlings please!
  11. As others have said, all of these ATs have been given a recent buff, either to inherent or to their direct powers.
On the otherhand, if I were to make my own suggestions, I think it would go something like this:

Defenders: Boost their solo damage buff to forty and/or give them an inherent bonus to the range on their powers, allowing them to keep at a safe distance for longer. (combine that with the slows or KBs most defender primaries get and it might help them basically snipe off mobs)

Tanker: I'd propose a passive aura similar to Rise to the Challenge, Against All Odds, Invincibility, etc. Only this one does not aggro, and what it does do it provide a minor buff to a Tanker's ability to resist debuffs (regen, res, tohit, etc. Though if this feels broken, one person once proposed it just be cut down to things like Tohit, Damage, and Recharge), say maybe 5% per-enemy around them with a cap of 10 targets.
This wouldn't give the tanker direct survivability or increased damage, but it would let them slug it out against large groups for much longer.

HEATS: Two words: Favored Form. This inherent would actually be one you could respec out of or have a different one for each build. The basic idea being that as a Kheldian, out of all your shapes, certain ones fit you much better.
I have no idea how each inherent would buff each form, whether to fill in weaknesses or bring the strengths to much stronger light, either way, I feel it would add a bit of diversity to the Kheldians who seem rather plainly uniform for a race of aliens with members over 2000 years old and having been at war.

No, "English is not my first language" isn't an excuse, because you're lying. ESL people are capable of typing out full words, and many of them have better spelling and grammar than you.
    This, this so much.
This is partly because me sister used to stress to me that how you speak is a reflection of who you are, and writing sloppily when in a situation that would allow for proper writing is a sign that one is a slob in real life, which may not be true, but it really is sort of like listening to some drug addled, wannabe, hip-hop 'gangsta' rapper who thinks loading a sentence up with as many swears and negatives as possible make them cool.

To be honest, I've never had a lot of problems with Fusionette myself, but that's because the times I've done the faultline arcs it's been...

Tanker: She was a welcomed asset of additional damage during times when my attack chain is less than stellar, but I can survive and aggro manage quite effectively.

Blaster: I tended to kill things well before her AI could detect something was even on the map.

Scrapper: /I/ was the one blindly charging into mobs with Fusionette barely able to keep up.

Defender: Buff Fusionette up, watch her waste the mob, rinse, repeat.

On the note of Mekkanos' post, the lore parts specifically, the Kheldian war lore, reminds me vaguely of Transformers.
Mostly in the fact that: Two factions of a race of transforming aliens and have been warring for centuries now bring their battle to earth but may have been involved with earth for much longer than we think.

But from what I gathered they do use human hosts.
  16. Hey, here's a suggestion: what if the Vanguard Mace was the wand/staff the Vanguard spell casters used?
You'd get a cool glowie effect, and that thing does look like it would hurt like hell to be smacked with.

Hydra (at least according to their boss info) have DNA similar to many viruses and plants common on earth.

    and Rikti are mutated humans.

Heck, I always thought it was very strange that Kheld and nictus even bonded with the same creatures.
It certainly would be interesting if someday, Kheldian ATs got a minor revisit and a few additional forms were added, like one for pure melee DPS, or one that heavily specialized in controls.

Not if "clipping" is going to be the excuse and not unless we're promised that the rest will come in as later additions.
so you and Feycat are kind of in agreement here?
Also, bumping because I'd really like it if the Devs could give further feedback.
Looking back on Positron's post, it seems even HE didn't know the real reason why many of the pieces were held back.
  21. I believe this is because those are costume codes that are given out, and the Devs wanted to keep those special/exclusive to RL event meetings, Holloween, and the odd contests.
  22. okay, having actually had a chance to play with the costume a little more and combining it with the martial arts pack has made me see it as less of a half-empty set.
I still beg to the devs to ignore the clipping issues with the other costume pieces and just give them us, otherwise it really makes the Circle of Thorns revamp feel like a waste.
  23. I'd definitely by the secret identity type of hero.
I'd probably mostly end up serving on-call for the police department(s, how many things I can do depends on my powers) to loan a hand when they need someone of my talents. But I'd probably end up very weary of anyone of higher government authority than cops.

    I would also probably be a ninja-themed hero... >.>
  24. Wow... that is kind of misleading.
It's cool and all but seriously, if I were a new player that trailer would probably lead me to believe...
    - First Ward is PVP
    - I can dress up like a Manslayer Ghoul, Positron, and Synapse
    - The Arachnos flier can be fought outside of Grandville

And that's off the top of my head.

    otherwise, it's pretty kickass.
