  1. I would like to give a big 'thank you' to everyone for your help so far for your help.
  2. I can't help but notice that any time the devs want us to give suggestions for new weapon models, none of the suggestions ever appear.

The submarine in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is called the Nautilus. Also, I figure Mole Machine were ruled out because they're technically terrain Geometry which doesn't easily spawn in/despawn.

Except snipers, medics, and automatons, which are technically their own unit.

The event did make me thing Nemesis needs a bit of an update. I mean even outside invasions they're kind of boring to be honest. Here's what I'd like to see:

    -Medics appear through all levels
-At least one, normal human boss
-Robotic Lieutenant of some type that does not contribute to the endless venge stacks.
-Possibly let some of the humans use the sabers at their hips.
  5. Thanks, CW, anyway though, I'm not too worried about the lack of abundance of ads (besides missing how cool it would be to see this game's name get out there) it just means I'm going to be dedicating a lot of attention on the few that are had during the presentation.

I'm sure the rest of my class will get a kick out of the "I'm a hero and I'm a villain" ad. This also plays into the proposal to my professor about the seeming marketing tactic of advertising to its own audience. There doesn't seem to be much stress on things that would be inviting or exactly alluring to people outside of the brand loyal buyers, but rather it's meant to build hype within them.

Almost like advertising for stronger loyalty.

I can't, my professor wanted me to email her which one I'm doing in advance so my course is locked.

This all is making me wonder just what Black Pebble really does besides making sure information is withheld, items on the market get pushed forward or held back, and suggesting which characters get killed off?

I mean, I guess when Samuraiko's videos are that level of quality I'd be pretty ashamed of even trying to push out my own advertising but as head of marketing I'd at least give it a freakin' shot.

on a lighter note as to how I discovered this game: an old friend and former player let me play the game on his computer. It was an amazing break from Ragnarok online. I was going fast, I could jump, I felt more involved in combat (I also used to think you had to time Divine Avalanche against an incoming attack for it to work), and the world felt big.

I don't suppose you got any screencaps or something like that, do you?
  7. Rest assured, they're both good skins, but I can't help but feel some concern of this rapid phase out of Statesman when I believed it was said some things would be kept in his memory feels a bit ill timed.

Not only that, but you seem to be pushing poor Penny harder than her mother did during labor (Assuming *SPOILER* Vanessa was like any sane woman any wanted the kid out when contractions started) and between her being said to be the world's most powerful psychic (though apparently downgraded in the upcoming SSA to ONE of the world's most power), her recent promotion to the Freedom Phalanx, the completely unique costume which no player has anything like (besides hair and face), and unique powers, and again, the pushing of her onto the players, you may yet end up with another situation like Statesman.

Now the truth is, I DO like Penelope Yin, but if you keep putting her in front of everything else (I mean she has nothing to do with the Nightward, much less Shadow Hunter who pretty much makes only a cameo) then it may draw some feeling of resentment even from me, and then your third SSA at this rate will be "We're killing Penny."

Anyway though, to give an answer, I kind of like 1 since we're basically going to be getting 2 as the login screen.
  8. okay, so I'm doing a bit of a project on advertisements and the franchise I picked was City of Heroes.
Thing is, I don't recall too many ads for this game besides the one I'd occasionally see in the old comics and the "I'm a Hero and I'm a villain" ones. Can anyone help me locate some examples of advertising done for City of? Google for me is mostly turning up the old "in-game adverts"
  9. OP, I would like to propose we breath the CoT lore pets into the two categories: Mages and Demons. And for the demon trees, let's hope we can avoid MORE behemoths, I'm getting seriously sick of those things. Let's use hellfrosts, succubi, or Hordlings instead. Yeah.
  10. >RPers using Broadcast ICly where good RP stories can get drowned out in countless "LFT" shouts.
    >OP complaining about it
    >Golden Girl of all people looking down on Roleplayers when her own character is the quintessential self-insert.

    Oh wait.

    They did.

All normal mission contacts work this way.
As pointed out: it's a bit of how the joke works, another thing is that it is kind of sad since Aaron Thiery is basically telling you to 'move along because you're too high leveled to help' when his arc is basically one long "other heroes suck" speech because they tend to move on when they get too high leveled, even though that's how the game works, that's how it's always worked, and that's the only way it really works.

    @Scythus
Yes, but it was a post in another thread. ... That and it was before I actually ended up outleveling aaron thiery and had intent to run the arc myself.
  12. He derides other heroes for not paying careful enough attention to Atlas, and sees their lack of vigilance as enough to be punished by bringing Arachnos into Atlas Park and getting at least dozens of people killed and relying purely on chance for newbie heroes who may not even be strong enough to fight Arachnos, to stop an execution of a dozen more.

Then, if you hit level eight: he immediately tells you he has no work for you. Nevermind the Arachnos spawn still crawling the streets. Nevermind that Arachnos is the only enemy he sends you against and it's a 1-50 group. He just brushes off higher level heroes who might want to keep helping Atlas, in otherwords forcing you to do nothing.

    What a jerk.
  13. As a random thought: it would be A LOT more work, but it might be interesting if the Hero's Epic got a third rendition where instead the hero Praetorians were trying to capture was YOU.

After you've humiliated them and smacked them around so many times, they want to both make an example of you as well as see what makes you so special?

The arc would end up much shorter and mostly be one LOOOOOONG mission, or possibly the mission exits would throw you out into Praetoria with a special bar on you that kept you from getting back into primal earth until you completed the arcs.

  15. I'll agree to this. While we're at it, Battle Maiden needs Titan Weapons, Synapse needs to reroll into Electric melee and SR and BAB needs to become Street Justice/Willpower.

Closest is that I think I recall it used to just be Statesman's face.

I dunno, I'd be kind of envious, also cute that she calls his ***** his "titan weapon".

Well, from Sam's standpoint, they might, they don't have a lot of room for intrigue, everything about them is pretty much spelled out early on:
They're the guides and ferrymen for souls to the afterlife, they used to be a lot nicer and more personable since the journey was important. Night Ward descends, they're cut off from the larger society of Drudges and are getting enormous surges of dead people and convert to a cold, bureaucratic system, that emphasizes efficiency over real quality.

Black knights are, while cool looking, kind of flat and also filled with idiots. Pendragon especially who takes "dumb blond" to ridiculous heights.

Lastly, what might be semi-interesting for Sam to know is a major Issue 23 spoiler, so I'll give folks a chance to look away now.

    ...

    WARNING: HUGE SPOILER AHEAD

    ...

    AVERT YOUR GAZE!

    ...

Are you sure you wanna see it?

    ...

    Last chance to turn back...

    ...

    Okay...

    ...

    Here goes...

The Talons of Vengeance refer to a Babylonian mother of monsters as their mother, I infer from this that the Talons of Vengeance, as a whole are a fraud. They don't actually care about morals, oaths, or anything like that. They revel in slaughter and murder and driving people to their madness. So... Actually, they're even shallower than Sam might have thought.

I've seen worse costumes (the statesman's face plate always looked ridiculous to me from anything but a dead straight angle from where it looks like a whole helmet), but Penny's is definitely up there. It just feels too random to me.
Well, my theory about Penny's costume is that it's because she's a huge fan of Tetsuya Nomura.
  21. Some part of me does worry the devs are going to start overexposing penny.
I mean do the Devs remember why players hated States and hate Recluse?
Because they're ubiquitous, trumped up as more powerful than any player, and yet they do about as much as playtapus that is not Perry.
So, while it's nice to Penny moving up (and seriously, she, nor any of the phalanx, are involved in ANY of the new Praetorian stuff, what's she doing fighting Shadow Hunter?) up in the world, you may want to start dialing it back before people get tired of her being "The worlds most powerful psychic" and you need to put up a Signature story arc to kill her off.
  22. So while I was in beta playing around with the mecha stuff, I got this weird jolt of inspiration to make a new costume for Positron, and I really liked how it came out. I know the devs mentioned they don't plan to revamp signature NPCs after Praetoria, but this just seemed kind of cool:

    Front shot:

    Back shot:

And as it turned out when I stood next to the actual Posi, I really got the colors off, still, it seemed pretty cool.

    and this is purely gratuitous:

Weird idea came to mind about Positron making special hilts to channel his powers to create Anti-Matter Blades. Knowing the character, this was probably the accidental end result of just trying to make a cutting torch.
  23. Well, seems City of's off to a good start.

Creepy part about it: my main Katana/SR scrapper would strongly consider that. He's my ONLY character (yes, even my villains would prefer to just have their own private city or something small than taking the whole world) who would seriously consider he might do a better job running the world (and potentially the cosmos since he's been asking 'why aren't the good guys doing anything to stop the bad ones?') than anyone presently doing it.
