  1. I'm liking Ice Blast with Time. Very good damage output along with stacking slows and holds. Cold and Storm might do more damage with their -res rains, but the extra recharge and self defense of Time is quite nice.

  3. Just had a 217 DPS run with my SS/Elec/Mu brute. Tier 4 Reactive, Rebirth(not used), and Spiritual, and Tier 3 Ion during rage crashes.

Well, /poison could be the one who provides special chems to the order, for their "special rituals" or for awakening mutations.
  5. How about a Thugs/Poison MM?

Being a high priest of sorts, you've managed to convert several lowly thugs into being your followers/test subjects with the promises of power and salvation. You use your knowledge of science to create and utilize various toxins, to weaken your foes and empower your followers.

Kind of like a religious drug lord.
  6. Even if it took getting to the recharge cap to do so, you could probably do it while still reaching the softcap.

Membraned/Cyto'd/Enzymed PBU/PB + T4 Radial Clarion + enhanced Far Sight = over 33% defense to everything. Of course that also means you're not taking dark mastery for perma soul drain...

That would be a nice use of the LFG function.

It's not a bad idea in itself, but I personally don't like taking away chat interaction as a minimal requirement for teaming.
  10. I could say the same about /MM, and guess what's the most popular blaster secondary at the moment?

Close range blasters simply do more damage than long range blasters, and the squishiness can be made manageable with teammates, inspirations, IO's, and more.

    What if....

Very hard to implement, hard to balance, and it has the potential of hurting the game more than benefiting it.

The prices should inflate ridiculously out of the reach of middle to upper class players. Only the top 1% should be getting purples. The price will set itself according to scarcity and the richest. There is no need to fix inflation. You just have to be realistic about what you can afford and stop thinking you're entitled to everything just because you're a paying customer. You really don't complain bitterly about what you don't have in real life. There shouldn't be a duality in your attitudes. Recognize yourself as not among the elite. You can get there if you want to sacrifice your game time to marketeering. But then again, a lot of self-made billionaires in real life got there by working hard and sacrificing their free time. Prices are where the elite are willing to pay. Don't complain that you can't compete with them and entitlements should be thrown your way. Buckle down and compete with them to be one of the elites. That's how they got there. That's what you need to do. If you don't want to do it, then stop complaining. You really weren't meant to have purple sets and those nifty pvp sets.
So not only did you necro, you missed the point of the thread. Good job.

Anyway this thread is no longer relevant with the sheer amount of inf sinks.
  13. The -res is still very significant, and Howl+Psychic Scream is very nice AoE. You also get the potential of an endless cone chain with Electric Mastery or Soul Mastery.

So not only can you contribute solid AoE to your team, you contribute good single target damage, a regen debuff in Drain Psyche, recharge debuffs, and resistance debuffs. Sonic/MM is about as close as you can get to a defender, and it's awesome in my experience.

I'm probably even competent enough to where I can support my teammates using the primary that the game deemed to be good enough to support a team. Because of this, I don't need to use the Med pool at all.

Now, you may suck bad enough at playing an Emp that this doesn't match up with your thinking and in that case don't play an Emp at all. Or maybe even a defender although FF is like Defender for Dummies.

I will second the controller recommendation based on your like of support and not caring about damage mindset.
Also, if you really feel like you want another rez power(for things like Apex maybe), you can get the day job accolade and the invention temp power, both can have up to 10 charges.

The area attacks in /Rad don't work very well together. One's a PBAoE, one's a cone, and one's a targeted AoE. That makes it hard to work a decent AoE attack chain up, because you have to jump around a lot to hit the same spawn with the three AoEs. /Fire (which defenders will get in the next issue), has a targeted AoE, a cone and a click AoE which work much better together. But fire doesn't get a force-multiplier effect like /Sonic does, just some minor DoT. A /Sonic defender will help the team do more overall damage than a /Fire defender will.

If you solo, the cone sleep in /Sonic is very useful, allowing you to run with higher spawn sizes.
    /Fire also doesn't get a -res proc.

I don't think slightly higher is good enough, as activation time is also pretty important when procs are considered(especially purples and pvp -res). Then again, the slots spent on getting the extra recharge could probably be spent on getting more damage instead.

I have to say...I am a tiny bit surprised that they didn't modify Clobber. :P I hope they don't because if they ever port it to Stalker, I want the same Clobber!
They gave DB and Claws a 15% crit to their tier 8, but their tier 8 also happens to be their most damaging attack. Shatter is a tier 8, and Clobber does the most damage, so it'd be nice to know.
  18. Rad is better for AoE, Sonic is better for ST.

Mind you Rad isn't terrible at ST once you proc it out(see sig).
  19. Anyone know if it's Clobber or Shatter getting the tier 9 crit mod(15%) treatment?

Every top-end build slots purple sets in their best attacks, it's nothing special. If you think just a few purple sets are enough to get you to the recharge cap, you're sorely mistaken.

Second part is your don't need to take spiritual yes it makes things easier but its not mandatory.
The only scrapper build I've seen that comes close to the recharge cap has Spiritual.

You can get soulbound allegience as well with ancilary sets last summon powers and there is only 3 purple sets gives global damage bonus anyway.
Soulbound Allegiance doesn't give a global recharge bonus, and scrappers can't access a Confuse power. That just leaves you with Apocalypse as I said.

For last part its your choice not to rely insps for 20 seconds but its not just a softcap. Elude also gives best recovery in the game which is an important point for a kat/SR if you are not using insps for 20 seconds thaan you will be using them to get your endurance refill anyway and you will be still relying on insps but this time not just 20 seconds in evey 6 minutes but every time your end bar gets low (which is like once in every 45 to 90 second without elude)
You can get Conserve Power+Physical Perfection to keep your endurance stable. You can't get anything to completely nullify the endurance/recovery crash apart from Ageless(which will be needed every 3 minutes, not 6), but you said you wanted Barrier to cover for the 20 seconds of no Elude. Also, if you avoid this Elude business you can just get Rebirth for better survivability.

Only one purple set available to scrappers grants you a damage bonus(Apocalypse). You'll also probably need to take Spiritual, which means no Musculature.

    Quote:
Now looking at numbers. Elude can get down to 200 second recharge which is 20 second more than its duration. With new burnout you can get your second elude just before previous one was expires and crashes and you don't need to wait until elude ends to use burnout either so it may look like this. Oh following example assumes you also manage to get burnout's recharge down to 6 minutes.

    Elude->burnout->around 170 sec->elude->180 sec->crashdown->20second->elude->burnout->again.

at each 6 minute (or 5 minute and 50 seconds) you will have only a 20 second down and since you can use blue inspirations while crashed down (it just don't renew natually otherwise you can use any methods) I don't see it as a non-plausible option. Especially it may save you to make a total defense soft-cap with other powers in SR and just get to %32.5 (limit to one small purple) 20 seconds is enough time to survive with just inspirations. With just putting one IO defense ench to each SR power+maneuvre gives %31.1 defense before any set bonuses added. With weave it rises to %32 but at this point I think maneuvre is enough since there will be set bonuses too.

Or at level 50 you can just use barrier destiny before crashdown happens you don't even need to toggle back since barriers recharge and duration are at 120 seconds at best choice.
You still have the 20 seconds of no recovery to deal with. I'd rather not rely on insps and sacrifice my damage, just for a softcap I can already easily reach with IO's.
  23. In terms of making the pets recharge faster, no. But in terms of making the pets attacks recharge faster it's very likely.

Musculature for example enhances the pets damage, so there's no reason Spiritual shouldn't enhance their recharge, seeing as lore pets are affected by recharge buffs(unlike all other pets).
