This. I don't think you need ANY additional rewards for playing the game as is.

Quote:Yes I don't want to see a no more levels system this late in this game's life.As long as there is a character to SK to, I am fine with it. This both preserves the requirement of a legitimately high-level character and preserves the meaning of levels. Heck, a multi-SK system is something I've always wanted to see. The bane of my teaming experience has always been the times when me and two of my friends are on, and each of us wants to play a different level character, say a 10, a 20 and a 30. There's no way in HELL that's going to work because one person always gets left out. Now if the 30 could SK both the 10 and the 20, the team would work. Instant success.
Again, this and the original suggestion may be similar in final result, but I do not agree with how the original suggestion achieves it. "No more levels" is not something I can stand behind.
I can see extra slot levels for highbees but mobs would have to be added fro those "extra levels".
If this were a brand new mmo, then a leveless system would work. As it is now, NO. -

Do this for a few days, and you'll move flippers off of the item until the price becomes less stable. If they knew what you were doing, they'd hate you.

Quote:And then we have spawn camping.I'm against TFs offering a better chance of getting Purples on any level. Many players, me included, cannot put in several hours on a routine bases to run TFs. I've got 3 50s and a lvl 48, but never run a Statemans TF and only 2 of 6 Phalanx TFs in 2 years - that illustrates my plight. TFs should be their own reward (Merits and Badges and just getting to do the darn things)
Instead, I wish there was something to make the Zones themselves more alive - maybe this idea would fit better there. If you're fighting in a zone, not an instanced mish, you have a slightly better drop rate.
Personally, I think the current drop rate is fine as is.
These things are SUPPOSED to be rare. -
Agree with above poster. Locking folks out of content in CITY ZONES is a bad idea. I can see something like this for HAZARD ZONES.

Looks like there is enough 60+ for testing, huh, Ultimus?

Quote:Except that any mission can be farmed. Even if the farming missions were gone it really wouldn't kill farming.I'd have to agree with this idea entirely, I do get tired of seeing the AE farms in lower zones to the point that no one wants to just team. An addition would be to seriously punish the people who make these farm missions. Maybe not to the point of banning their account but just taking away their privilege of making and publishing MA arcs.
Only way would be to put a cap on how many times you can run the same mission again. Ofcourse this might end up killing it's use for Sgs who use it for repeated use.
Personally I couldn't care less if folks farm to their hearts content. -
Quote:qft.they can and do affect each other. I just don't see why the hero and villain players have to affect each other. Villains can fight heroes and other villains, heroes can fight villains and other heroes. There is no restriction as to which side these heroes and villains come from. The two sides of the game already affect each other. The hero and villain players just don't affect each other, and i'd rather keep it that way.

Quote:You never looked properly. It's been under For Fun for ages.I don't remember it being in the same group as Roleplaying, that's for sure!
EDIT: And since then a couple of suggestions HAVE been put into game, with 2 BIG ONES coming in issue 16. You OP is simply incorrect. -
Quote:Or your character is bugged and you need to send a petition.I was the one who informed him of this. About two months ago, I did two consecutive raids as a level 45. I got the reward popup, and I was able to select the merits option from it, but both times the number of merits I had did not increase. Based on this experience, I strongly suspect that you won't get any merits unless you also qualify for the Hami-O reward (and I can't think of any reason why the system would award merits at 46 but not 45). I no longer have a 45-46 character to test this with, or I'd go for another raid on Wednesday to confirm this again.

Quote:Seeing as how it was CASTLE who stated the debuffs and buffs are out of whack in this game, you would probably be correct.Uberguy, I don't think there is anything you can say, write, demonstrate, play video of, or whatever that will convince Turbo Ski or the OP otherwise.
And this is why. Some defenders are awesome all around, some shine exceptionally well on teams.
In my opinion, I consider defenders to be overpowered already with what they can do, and threads like this would lead to nerfs to them, making them equal to controller/corruptors. -
Quote:no, not really. It doesn't take a kind of skill to create a good build based on knowledge you've learned from playing the game?
slotting SOs doesn't take anything i would call skill.
If you are talking about about slotting IOs sure, but that is NOT what the person I was responding to was talking about. -

Quote:True. I would say that many folks who play those arcs don't ever come to the forums to hear an author's reasoning. I think authors should keep that in mind. The whole point of discussion in review threads is to clarify what is missing. But I'm glad you've figured that out! Neither architects nor reviewers are perfect.
With that said it would be nice if the textual/size limit was lifted for arcs. -
Quote:Agreed.YES!
This this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this a thousand times, THIS!
Nobody here has problems with negative criticism. We have a problem with people being (insert expletive of choice).
Here's a sample of how certain posters could have approached things:
Instead, the attitude was much more like "This arc was dumb and you're stupid for liking it." Oh, and we never got to the end (well, until a mod had to actually lock the thread), because they would not stop posting. Pages of personal insults thrown at the author and hyperbole about wanting to nuke the arc from orbit are not constructive, useful, or anything resembling polite.
GIVING FEEDBACK IS A GOOD THING.
Being a jerk is not.
I hope that makes things crystal clear.
Both sides should not throw personal insults. Neither the one giving the reviews nor the ones receiving the feedback. -
Quote:Welcome to the COH rating system. It's also irrelevant from the other side of that, too. At least one poster said that they will never give a 5 star rating because they don't think anything is perfect.
It was irrelevant the second it was put in place, as told to the devs in CLOSED BETA!
There's a reason they got rid of the star system they used to have here on the forums. -

I don't pretend to be an expert on Masterminds, bit I'm a sworn Scrapper at heart, and if even I can admit Masterminds are as close to tank-mages as we're going to get, trust me that this counts for something.
[/ QUOTE ]
Like you, I'm not an expert MM player by any means. I'm also not saying that MMs don't tread close to Tank Mage territory. What I'm saying is that MMs have issues to deal with that makes them different than having Tanks become Tank Mages (by dealing Scrapper damage or having support like Dark Miasma).
A Tanker is in full control of their abilities, not AI.
A Tanker won't freak out when hit by Burn or Caltrops.
A Tanker doesn't need to worry about mezzes (for the most part).
A Tanker can 'focus' on one target without sacrificing defense.
Etc.
That's what I was trying to say. Sorry if I wasn't clear, it was a short night. :\
[/ QUOTE ]
For what you stated and many other reasons, I'd still rather play a tank. My mms (two) are the only ones who have been stuck at the levels they are for ages. (one is 46, the other is 32). I used to have fun with them till I tried out numerous other alts on a whim one day. MANY of those alts (including tanks--who supposedly NEEEED MOAR DAMAGE desperatly--pffft) have hit 50 while my mms have languished. -

Because it's frustrating as heck.
I love redside. I play on Champion. Redside on Champion is dead. It was limping before Issue 14 and the Mission Architect, but Issue 14 and the Mission Architect honestly put the final nail in it.
Just last night, I was on my level 29 Thugs Mastermind. During the period of a hour and a half, there were exactly three people within 5 levels of me either way that weren't already on a team in the search window. I sent a tell to all three of them, asking if they'd be interested in teaming with me. One was busy selling and buying at the black market. The other two were only interested in AE farms.
Seriously, I don't know if it's like this on all servers, but AE killed what little redside activity Champion had.
At this point, I'm looking forward to Champions Online just so I can team with other super-powered players again.
[/ QUOTE ]
LOL, trust me when I say you will be SEVERELY disappointed if you think there's going to be a lot of teaming in Champions Online. It's the most team UNFRIENDLY game I've ever experienced. For various reasons that folks are going to see real soon. -
[ QUOTE ]
Champions online is open Archtype.
As was SWG before they destroyed it by closing the classes
[/ QUOTE ]
And even then both of those systems are/were NOT 100% open. -

Scrappers do not need buffs.
[/ QUOTE ] I disagree, Scrappers are horrible on teams. They don't bring anything to a team at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
UUUMMM..folks? you do realize this was in jest? LMAO,some of you actually think he was saying scrappers bring nothing to a team?
Please go back and reread his post.I believe it was meant to be sarcasm
[/ QUOTE ]
Infact he later posted that he was joking. Tells you how much folks read threads before posting, doesn't it?
