Make this global? Put it in Hurricane or Gale?
I find your lack of imagination....disturbing
Seriously, KB in pets or in radial KB powers is bad. KB in linear powers or in powers that you can control the location of, like Hurricane, is wonderful!!
You can control where the mobs are with the skillful use of KB, why in the world would you want to turn that off?
And people wonder why I refuse to PUG any more. -
Aside from the lack of sources in your declaration, assuming that it IS the way it's intended, this is extremely poor design.
As has been repeatedly pointed out, MMs are advertised as being able to control our henchmen. This thread is primarily about the fact that we can not. -
I'm going to add my No vote in here as well.
With the convenience of the /ah command I'm finally starting to use the market on a semi regular basis. I'm far from being wealthy in CoH (most loaded character has under 400k, 2nd most loaded around 300k, no one else worth talking about) and don't need to be nickled and dimed to death.
As for public gathering places, what's wrong with Pocket D? We don't need to gather at the AH in person for the convenience of the spammers. -
Hawks (and other raptors) don't peck, they rake.
Sorry, that irritates me in the Beast Mastery set and you got the spill over here.
Nice looking set other than that. -
They don't need more crap on the PM, they need to FIX a bunch of stuff that's already out there.
*Cough*MM Hench AI*Cough*
...among others -
Quote:MM henchmen AI is a very sore spot in the MM forum, go check it out. Along with all the other unacknowledged software and conceptual bugs associated with MMs. The list is long and pretty thorough (like KB protection not affecting the henchmen, etc).Devices
Force Field - Something to make it exciting
Masterminds ( AI )
Time Bomb
Maybe Trip Mine
Gun Drone
Specific Flight powers
Nukes
I would rather see old this given new purpose then get any new power sets. I think just updating some of these sets or power would make them feel new to many players old and new.
Leave Trip Mine alone, it's perfectly fine. Or be specific about what irks you with the power.
Fixing pet AI should keep the Gun Drone out of melee.
The devs are looking at Nukes and Snipes. -
Wow, so much logic fail in this post, where do I even being dissecting your errors.
Quote:No one is asking for MMs to be OP, we are asking for them to function as advertised. So sad that so many people, or so few (depending on how you look at it), want MMs to become OP.
Something I might add that is very important since they are now paid for (and $15 at that).
Quote:First of all, MMs are original villains. There are no hero bosses...just heroes and superheroes...and since villains always lose in the end, they all need to have some type of weakness, lol.
Quote:Fixxing these so called problems they might as well make all stalkers' attacks AS's...all controllers' holds 10 secs...all scrappers' attacks critical 100%...etc.
Quote:A Mastermind is a boss, not a Master Controller (which would be sooo OP)...and NO boss gets everything they ask for from their employees/minions, lol.
Aside from that, not all of the MM henchmen are "hired". Robots are built, and if I built my robots I'd damn well make them work the way I want them to. Necro and Demons are magically bound to you.
I'm not here to play an incompetent super. If my spells/tech aren't working the way I want them to, I'd redesign them.
Love to have fun, this is the best game on the market at the moment. That doesn't mean it's without flaws.
Now imagine for a moment (since you obviously have such a fertile imagination as to come up with the list of bogus garbage above) if Scrapper/Brute/Tanker attack powers would sometimes fire off a random, weaker attack, and using that attack would cost you 1/7th of your HP.
Can you feel the rage that would be generated in those forums? They'd probably melt down the forum server with all the angst.
Yeah, Stay and GoTo mean "if you feel like it, and don't see a shiney". -
Well they made it extremely clear that they didn't even want to discuss new MM powersets at the Pummit... And while I understand that MM primaries are extremely labor intensive for the art department, their lack of willingness to even discuss (as in blue sky type discussion) potential new MM powersets doesn't give me much confidence in their focus on the AT.
-
Despite all the KB resistance in the world on my MM, my pets fly like chaff driven by the wind at the first hint of KD/KB from any source.
Imagine the howls if a Scrapper or Brute were standing solid on a Ice Slick, but couldn't attack because their attack powers were flopping like fish.... I do believe those subforums would spontaneously combust from the rage. -
Quote:All good stuff.Zombies: First/Second tier could have options to select from the Banished Pantheon zombies and Apocalypse zombies tier one and two (Husks/Chambers and the basic Apocalypse zombies plus the larger fleshy-looking ones with no clothing/hair). The Lich could have an option for Nightmare from Apocalypse or possibly a Death Shaman from the Banished Pantheon. It would give people an option to basically be a BP mastermind without having to adjust powers or anything. Also it would give people who don't want to look like a medieval sorceror an option to look more like a mad scientist who unleashed a zombie plague with the Apocalypse zombies.
But...
You forgot Vahzilok for the zombies. This meets the need for tech zombies.
And only unlock the Apocalypse zombies when you get the badge for them. -
Quote:I've said it before, and I'll say it again.Your asking them to do more work just maintaining this and its not going to happen.
I thought this was one of the selling points of "Freedom", that the money we spend in the Paragon Market would go to increased Dev headcount so we can see more of the things we've been asking for.
Instead it seems all the "extra" money is going to some Suit's 4th Mercedes. -
Quote:I like where you're going with this, but lets mix it up a bit.Quote:I just came up with a crazy idea for a alien/ Mutant Primary that are like bugs
alien/insect type look,
Minion:
Incubators: they spit acid and have claw, They will summon 3 underline when they are defeated,
Liuet:
Warrior alien:standar attack, support, and when they die they summon 2 minion incubators or another type of alien that when it die it reales a toxic AoE
Boss:
Alien Queen: Control/support basic, MM type pet, it summon underlines that attack his targets
Tier 7 power: is a Alien gang war type of power
And tier 7 needs to be a gangwar style spawn cast on an enemy - causing a stun while the little aliens come out of the mob.
I'm into this - make it so Devs! No more magic; we need more sci-fi!
Rather than T7 being a Gang War clone, make it a PBAoE that drops the Incubators. The Incubators are a debuff (Think Acid Mortar or MM Poison Trap for the attack mechanic) that draws aggro, and when they (the Incubators) are defeated they spawn a weakened version of the T1 alien minion.
Also, have the Minion and Lt. spawn an Incubator when they are defeated.
Love the "facehugger hold", but it should probably go on the Lt.s.
As you say, more SciFi, less magic! -
Has anyone PM'd the Powers lead (Arbiter Hawk?) on this thread?
Oh, and a couple of things on the list have been fixed. I'll try to quote them from the OP tonight so you can update.
But the AI is the big booger as far as I'm concerned. Well that and the pet non-responsiveness bug. -
-
Quote:Either you scrapper/brute doesn't mind that MM Henchmen are broken or you're just flat out trolling. Maybe both. :PI dont think it's a bug, I think thats just normal.
And Im fine with that.
It may be normal, but that doesn't mean that it's not broken.
I am a MASTERMIND. Old school. As in when the Romans invented the word "decimate". The origin of the word, in case you didn't know, was that if a Legion retreated or was defeated the Legion would line up and count off by 10s. And every 10th person got to fall on their sword (voluntarily or otherwise).
IOW when I give orders I damn well expect them to be obeyed.
Imagine the howling if 2/3 of some brute's HP ran off without him? Or if all of some scrapper's best attacks decided not to work. -
Insects.
T1
Giant Spiders, 3rd spider gets a venomous bite. All get Web attack (Immob)
T2
Giant Beetles. Get one Bombardier Beetle (PBAoE fireball) and one Stink Bug (PBAoE toxic) among other attacks.
T3
Would you like to see a 7' tall Preying Mantis? Neither would I. In addition to a 6' range Impale it would get Fearsome Stare.
I can (and have in the past) detail it out more, but that's the bare bones of it. -
So I've dusted off my Bot/Trap MM and IO'd him out. Overall I'm pretty pleased, but have run into some serious design flaws in the AT and I'd like to bring those to light. Hopefully, now that Stalkers are fixed, we can get some love over here.
And if it seems that I am taking a hard line on some of this stuff, remember this. People pay a stiff premium to play this AT if they didn't already have it unlocked before Freedom. People love pet classes, and if they pay that premium they are going to feel cheated with all these issues.
I have a KB protection proc slotted (Karma or Steadfast, I forget) so I don't have any issues with KB/KD, but my henchmen act like popcorn if you drop an Ice Slick under them. What would a Scrapper say if he remained standing but couldn't attack because of KB/KD?
I constantly outrun my HP (I move much faster than my henchmen). No biggie when soloing, but on a team that moves as fast as I do (that's most all of them that I get on) it's a pain.
Procs and set boni do not affect the henchmen. What would a Brute say if he made a half a billion Inf build for damage, only to find that it didn't affect all his attack powers, just the weakest ones?
Henchmen should never leave Supremacy radius when on Defensive. If you can't write AI any better than you already have, this is the fix.
Henchmen who heal or ST buff should target their Master first (if they want to live! Muahahahaha!) Pro Bots, I'm looking at you and thinking about the cost of spare parts for the others.
Then there's the non-responsive Henchmen bug. I am unable to dismiss them, even by the command line. Again, what would a Brute say if all their strong attacks (and 2/3 their HP) just randomly stopped working? Yeah, and zoning MIGHT fix it.... Or not.
Ranged Henchmen should NEVER move INTO melee range, period. Melee attacks should be used defensively only, and all melee attacks on ranged Henchmen should have a healthy KB component to get the mob away from them.
And on a related note, please fix Group Fly. I respec'd out of it because I was tired of stopping every 50 yds to let the Henchmen catch up. My recommendation for Group Fly (if possible) is that you kill the AoE. Anyone who targets the caster should fly as long as they remain within 200 yds (or make it 100 if 200 is too much) of the caster. In addition to that, they should fly 20 mph FASTER than the caster so that they can stay within that distance easily. Then you can remove the Group Fly conversation from Null the Gull because it won't be an issue any more. -
-
Actually, my MM respec'd out of Group Fly. I got tired of stopping every 20' to let my bots catch up.
Simply change Group Fly so that it's not an AoE, but that anyone who has the Group Flier on Follow can Fly at 20 MPH faster than the caster. -
And what exactly is the difference between that and a proc that is part of a set? You slot an LotG 7.5% recharge bonus, and nothing else from the set in several powers when building perma Domination.
You slot a Miracle or a Numina's +Recovery proc (or both) in Health and go on your way without the rest of either set.
So what are you asking for that we don't already have the ability to do?
And why not just make additional sets with procs in them to meet your need? -
Quote:Rather than more junk drops, or making the costume parts rare, I'd rather see more options added to the Rocket Boot recipe, Jump Boot recipe, etc. After they are crafted I'd like a secondary dropdown in the costume creator that lets me pick which variation I want on them. The way the system is set up now, the heck with MORE craftable costume bits (or temp powers, for that matter). Junk drops that are just an irritation to those receiving them and also for those who just want the costume piece.
They're an annoyance- just put the stuff in the costume editor and eliminate drops entirely.
If, however, the drop rate was slashed & the recipes were once more rare and desirable, that would be great and I'd back additions to the system.
But that's probably not gonna happen. -
Quote:^^^ this.A power pool would be fantastic, but a quick easy option with a price tag behind it is much more likely to get implemented me thinks.
Unfortunately, toggling on a purchased travel toggles off everything else.
Please change this from "off" to "suppressed". Then I don't care how many purchasable travels the devs make. -
