News about pets-chasing-spawns bug?

I got hit by that one in a bad way on pretty much all my characters with pets, when issue 22 went live. Is it still being a problem, or did they find some kind of fix?

I dont think it's a bug, I think thats just normal.

And Im fine with that.

I believe he is talking about the bug that makes them run after ambushes, even if they are on the other side of the map, and even if they are set to passive. This certainly is a bug.

Pretty sure they'll do it on rezzers too, I remember them all standing next to me at a group on a freakshow ma p one minute then all running will nilly back through the map and ignoring all passive and go to commands I used. Finally upon chasing them down I found one dead lt.

I had it happen even in midfight on a new lowbie beast/sonic. The pets just suddenly charged mightfight into a near group as if they had attacked me, which wasn't the case though. Its kind of rare though.

It's bug with MM and some other pets as well. Clear to see when you do the BAF and they take off randomly. Setting them to passive resets them but then they can bug out again from there randomly.

Been there since I22 and the BG patch they made for the troller pet behavior transferred the bug to those pets too.

Who knows if they will ever fix it cause they sure are not going to acknowledge it after the patch.


The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

I've been playing masterminds since the launch of com. If I just ran regular.instances and solo missions id be okay, but its terribly frustrating to run trials and task forces on top of the already existing pet behaviors. So much so that I have shelved my main mm characters. Even more frustrating is the lack of rrresponse by the devs to pet feedback since iss ue 19.

Sometimes, even setting them on passive isn't enough, I have noticed. Hell, I even /released and re-summoned and still had issues in some instances. Granted during trials, that might be due to lag, but I have seen this occur in certain ambushes on solo missions as well. Either case, I hate trials anyway and this just gives me more of a reason not to do them.

If they would just acknowledge it, even if they can't do a fix right now, would at least give me a little hope.

I found that clicking on a new target can call them back but even then after they take out the target they try to run off again . You just have to keep selecting new targets until the ambush or rezzer goes neutral.

I've been keeping my /release_pets macro as a button on my 3rd bar, top right where I never need to think very hard about where to find it.

The running away happened to me on BAF and LAM itrial last night.

On the BAF when Nightstar and Siege spawned they took off after them. Defense Passive command worked when Nightstar first appeared; however, I had to spam the command to get them to stay. Even then they ran around in spastic circles trying to decide if they wanted to listen.

Next, when Siege spawned they decided that following me was not in their plans and took off. Even spamming commands I couldn't get them to come back. Had to release and re-summon. So annoying.

Did a LAM after and they did the same thing with Marauder. If I had been outside when the cut-scene happened they probably would have knocked the Enriche out of his hand.

Just did a BAF and LAM and encountered the same problem. As soon as NS spawned all the pets took off after her. Spamming passive go-to did nothing. Same thing happened in LAM with Marauder and the problem persisted even after re-summoning.

People need to start using the ingame bug report when this happens.

Someone asked about it on one of the last few Ustreams (4/18 or 4/11?) and the dev in the interview said it was the first he had heard about it and people should report it ingame if it happens to them with details on where/what triggers it.

It happens all the time since I22 the code is bugged for the four legged rig and MM pets....they know it and they are not going to do a damm thing about it for the forseeable future. Brilliant...just bloody brilliant.

Either you scrapper/brute doesn't mind that MM Henchmen are broken or you're just flat out trolling. Maybe both. :P

It may be normal, but that doesn't mean that it's not broken.

I am a MASTERMIND. Old school. As in when the Romans invented the word "decimate". The origin of the word, in case you didn't know, was that if a Legion retreated or was defeated the Legion would line up and count off by 10s. And every 10th person got to fall on their sword (voluntarily or otherwise).

IOW when I give orders I damn well expect them to be obeyed.

Imagine the howling if 2/3 of some brute's HP ran off without him? Or if all of some scrapper's best attacks decided not to work.
