  1. I am really Surprised they do not have unlockable signature heroes/villains, Pay so many tickets to unlock Synapse or Lt. Sefu Tendaj

Of course knowing the full story of Sefu..( not saying any spoilers) it makes me think in the case of signature heroes maybe it's not so much copyright as it is protecting lore?

I won't lie she has been a challenge to play of course she's only like 25 right now ( i got distracted getting my brute her alpha >.>) should i have picked a more punchy/damaging secondary to take full advantage of siren's? yeah most likely but devices is just to cool! She is fun to play even when i'm trying not to get pummeled by a boss! When i face plant i just remind myself" i'm a blaster!"

One thing i have noticed is it seems i miss a lot with sonic attacks maybe it's my imagination because i REALLY am wanting them to hit!

Fulmens, thank you for the market advice i fall into the (Aka "marketing for people who hate to market." ) category. I am very stingy with my hero merits using them to purchase things like reactive armor sets and the like. it never occurred to me to use a replenishment resource like hero merits! again thank you.
  3. I don't really have a cure, but i do put it in remission by only buying character slots when they are on sale!
  4. Oh and i remember the hulk guy on virtue i even warned him in /HC that he was going to get GM slapped.. his reply to me was " Hulk smash GM"

Yeah see i find more offense in that than costumes..The whole period and X thing like .Brand-X (er not saying the X is bad in that name see next example) or xXNetherGoatXx just to get around the naming and it is my understanding that players can't report there names taken in such a way?

Not to derail this thread but seems like a good place to ask this.. So you are saying that even if you have an original name, but dress your character like say Stargirl for example ( i did this once on my staff fighter just for fun!) you could get genericed? not that you can as Nether said, really copy anyone exactly.

My feelings exactly! i smiled i got my freebie and used it to help level my chacter which of course I wasted on fighting Blades of Artemis so really the only complaint I have is: wow do they have to use sooo many caltrops?!

The freebie is for everyone, be they a VIP, premium, or completely free player.
That echoes my thoughts as well. Not everyone has fifteen gazillion xp boosters what is wrong with just saying " oh cool a free xp booster i can't use it but i'm sure other players will be excited about it!"

Yes it's marketing as some one else pointed out it is a business after all. One i hope continues to stay successful because i just adore this game!

Of course now that i have heard SOME got bacon i am extremely distressed and displeased in fact i am going to cancel my sub because i received no free bacon!

No nut kicking??!11one I blame Freedom for this, and PVP and global warming and oil spills and...and most of all i blame Zwill!

Seriously i think this is neat who doesn't like free stuff? well OK clearly a few of you don't!

You know those nice ladies in the grocery store? the ones that offer you a free cracker with cheese or sipping cup of fruit drink.. I am willing to bet you either smile and take the sample or just shake your head politely and decline. I do not think you get in there face and start screaming about how they are ruining the economy or how they are to blame for the unused cooler in the back of the store not working.

But.. FREE... -This- is why i love this game!
  10. Thanks, Necro. I just was not sure if the process got simplified. That's what i will end up doing. Mostly my OCD kicks in because my Main should be the SG leader! I'll just have her promoted again when she gets back from her walkabout.
  11. There are many many questions and this has been answered many many times.. how ever form what i dug up they were all from two years and four issues ago. So since i only started in November here it goes...

Are the Rules still the same for a side switching Super Leader? That is to say you loose your red star another person within your SG gets promoted based on confusing criteria i have yet to even begin to understand? Or has this process been simplified in some way?

I am really weighing the options of how much of a pain it is compared to how much i hate Ice armor. Plus scorpion armor is less graphically intensive for me.
  12. Wow, some really great tips! Bill and Golden took all mine!

Don't spam the same things over and over it just gets you put on ignore.

Be Patient, while i seldom do leagues( my poor old computer just does not handle all those heroes well) the ones i have seen, i often see people getting impatient to join, remember everyone's busy setting up or grabbing snacks or what not.

Conversely don't spend all day grabbing snacks and such people are waiting on you.

Don't pick at people's computers not everyone can afford the latest AESUS..

If your leading a league ( and team) relax it's suppose to be fun for you, and everyone else.

Let the RPers alone some of us and yes i am one enjoy to RP. i Don't give the stink eye to players that farm or min/max and i expect the same in return.

Again conversely leave the others alone too min/maxing and farming is part off -their- game.

    Seeing a theme here

One Comment. when I'm on busier ATs i don't tend to talk as much because well i am "pushing teh butans" but i do get a giggle from my team mates and try to contribute between fights.

As i said in the beginning Golden and Bill said the same things i would have so i will sum up with...

Be Respectful. Be Polite, Have some Empathy, if you shoot for one of those three everyone around you will have fun!

    Quote:
That has to be just about the creepiest thing that can occur in the game.
I used to tend bar, yes i am a woman, anyway believe me i much preferred the guys hitting on me, than the guys starting fights and getting mean.

    1) Dreadful Wail - yeah its a fun power but if you are really relying on, Targeting Drone, Combat Jumping, Tough, Weave, Scorpion Shield, and Maneuvers, then the last thing you'll want to do is crash your endurance with DW.
That..was not something i thought about.. yeah standing in the middle of half wounded villains and a angry boss with all my toggles down.. not a good idea!

Might just throw gun drone back in there to have against EBs (AVs and GMs on teams) and/or a set mule for a bit more ranged defense. got a bit of time to think on that still.

One thing i did change was i ditched maneuvers and picked up hover. a loss of .3% defense which i think we can agree is worth it for the increased safety and mobility of hover.

Lastly Some good news thanks to my BF's addiction to super packs i have nearly a full set of Blaster's wrath... which i am thinking will go into Howl.. not really happy with Posi's there anyway.

Thank you all very much for the help. this combo is a real blast to play! Not to mention this help has given me insight for future blaster builds.

It is very likely I was one of the people who mentioned it. I'll try to help you here.
    Why, yes.. yes it was!

Thank you both for the replies and best of all the strategies i am still a little torn on rather to stay on the ground or hover...how ever your tips gave me a little more insight so i sent my BF out of the house so i could create another build which i will post in a moment.

I took taser early put off caltrops till 30, removed gun drone ( have to admit I only took it because well its a floating gun turret, that's kinda cool!) with the slots from there and a few other places I was able to beef up my defense as well as give smoke ( which knight convinced me to take ) and taser a few slots which i frankenslotted.

I took maneuvers knowing blasters do not get as good a numbers from it as fenders but meh oh well, though i'm still half thinking i could drop it and move things around to still take hover.

i -really- wrestled rather to take the medicine pool or not still debating it to be honest, maybe i can deal with lower defense in favor of healing?

Feel free to critique it, while i am not a huge min/maxer i do like to enjoy playing my characters and part of that enjoyment is this!

  15. Most likely not a common choice for blasters but i really enjoy her. I tried other forms of sonic/ and /sonic and really just preferred a blaster.. devices is something i have not tried yet and the two seemed to have a synergy.

So i have spent some time reading over the forums.. surprisingly i found that many people mention sonic/dev.. but other than a few very very old posts ( ones that still have inherent fitness) there is not much to go on.

The Goals: I want to be able to solo content at 0/x2 with bosses, x3 if i am feeling frisky. Definitely want to be able to solo the new DA missions at the same difficulty. This is not to say i do not want to team ever. but i am counting on my ghosting abilities and debuffs in my attacks to help me contribute. I do not have Inf falling out of my pockets so have to rely on merits and rewards for the more expensive IOs

The Questions: Firstly,Taser.. i really like this power but can not think of a way to take it early.. and i am wondering does this stack with screech to stun bosses both screech and taser are mag 3 stuns. If they do stack would dropping caltrops in favor of Taser be advisable?

Secondly Epic powers..i chose mace for the defense shield.. but really? the rest of the powers from that pool are just bleh maybe i am missing something ( ok mace volley adds another cone and spiderlings are cute!) is there a suggested epic that would give me the same surviveablity? no not Ice yuk i have that on my main and wow i hate it so much if i wasn't a SG leader i would side switch in a heart beat!

I am not sure where to place a stealth IO since you only get one should it go in sprint or hover.. and will Ninja run + Sprint+ Stealth IO be as good with CD as using SS?

    ok i am rambling

Mostly i am hoping on some feed back on this build i made it with defense in mind added hover for times i want to hover blast seemed like a way to go.

    Thank you all in advance.

  16. First: I.. would turn the Auction house into a Market house, no more auctions. Players can list there items and the price they are selling it for, and other players can choose which one they want to buy. It may promote some competitive pricing making it easier for new players to purchase IOs.

Second : i would lock this thread and bury deep deep in the archives where it would never be seen again! wow some of your ideas are just mean!
  17. Carpeting Textures and/or tiles you know like the big ceramic floor tile

wall paneling textures like you see in office buildings

oh my god the dress is ADORABLE! It is perfect!

But i also do hope us gals get the suit as well.. because well your legs get a bt cold when fighting off invading alien in the vacuum of space!

Summer can't get here soon enough! great job!
  19. I had a claws/ELA brute i loved playing her.. she got replaced by my staff/EA for no other reason that i just enjoyed staff more than claws.. i got her ( the claws brute) to around lvl 45 i can say in the early levels running on resists is fine but once you hit 35 or so, things begin to hurt bad!

form what i could tell yes soft capping to S/l/E is fine..i did how ever add maneuvers and weave.. yes even MORE toggles! even so.. and i will admit that i had to turn the difficulty down to x1 with bosses if i did carnival and arachnos psy damage just tore me up. Of course this is before i learned Ranged defense helps ( like in the case of my staff EA it wasn't to difficult to get a 30% ranged defense.

If i was to give any advice and i am far from the expert.. it would be to try to get ranged defense up top cover the holes in your defense
  20. My Advice and only my opinion.. as a player who only began in November.

DO NOT run Death From below. you miss out on some great beginning arcs and new lore ( all the ones i think Golden girl mentioned). Save that for your second/third alt.

Ignore all the complaining and AT power set comparing in Help channel and Make your own character a lot of NEW power sets worth exploring.

Do not worry about your initial costume make something cute and fun you can always go back to the tailor and tweak it!
  21. Ok here is a quick and VERY dirty BM/time i am so not happy with the slotting or the level which i slotted them or even the levels i took some of the powers but here it is, and after reading Crysys's post i could drop provoke in favor of powerboost

I have to admit time does look fun!

  22. wow thanks..Dark is looking like the serious winner from what you have said.. for now though i only have one build and that's /dark...to be hoenst im not evne sure where to begin with /time right now im looking over some other builds both controller and mastermind trying to see how there slotted .

In this build i tried to go with survivability taking -to hit where i could

I will whip up a /time build i am debating that i may even not take a travel power and just rely on my rocket board till i can get a jet pack maybe even go ahead and bite the bullet and buy ninja run

If "Bestiality Rules" on virtue hasn't yet i doubt heavy petting will >.>

Mine is called Marissa Fox ( to hard to come up with code names some times :P) a former animal rights activist that stumbled into a experiment while freeing animals from laboratory ( now to just figure out dark or time or traps ugh!)
  24. So i keep wrestling in my head which to play dark seems to have better numbers time doesn't have anchors I plan to run up and use provoke while debuffing holding agro for my pets to chew on.. but i just can't deiced which i want to use! Unfortunately i only have one slot to play with. Both secondaries are SOOO close in performance it is a hard call.

Is it my imagination or is dark's heal much slower than times?

Is there anything truly skip-able in time? unlike my other MMs im really drawn to the BM attack powers ( except swarm that can be skipped IMO). I created a BM/Dark build it is some where in the build workshop. At the moment I am trying to work out a /time build not doing to good at it i have to confess.

Some advice would be most appreciated from some of the more expert MM players. My very first MM and very first character was a Bots/pain and she is still my main and i love playing her but i rather not go through the trials i did with her, Not even sure the number of respects i did learning not a combination for a brand new player!

Some info: I solo a lot but when i team i like to be able to contribute something AVs and GMs are not really important.. i have a bots/traps and Ill/rad for when i get that urge.

Gah now i am thinking about traps too.. so many decisions makes me sad!
  25. Right so despite everything i may or may not have heard im excited about my Beast master i chose Dark because i have not played the set yet. Seeing as how the pets are suppose to be squishy I am trying for a more tankermind approach..i think.Dark is new to me so i'm rather clueless about it.. but i researched some demon/dark builds for ideas..

Fortify pack is.. well a brand new mechanic so frankly i'm not sure what to do with it at all. None the less i present you with my build for you to take apart... though i did mange to get above soft cap on S/L. Also i'm not entirely sure what to do with the pets i figure 6 slotting pets is a must, but thier enhancements may or may not change.

Tear it up tell me what you think!
