I fought Malta a few weeks ago and all I can say is, we need more mobs like this. It felt great actually fighting something that's challenging.

The only thing better about Scrappers is that they have Claws, Katana, and Broadsword.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And that they have a higher damage modifier, don't need to rely on their inherent or buffs to do decent damage, self buffs from their powers are higher compared to Brutes, and you can play at your own pace without worrying about your damage dropping.

It seems you missed a lot of points besides that Scrappers have different powersets compared to Brutes.

And I would have put bots as most survivable.

    Ninjas def highest damage.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

    Overall Brutal Upfront Damage: Ninjas

Ranged Damage: Thugs (w/some melee of course)

    AoE Damage: Bots

    Survivability: Zombies

Anyways, those have been my impressions so far at least, playing each set to very high levels.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have played each set to 50 except for Zombies and Ninjas, but I feel this is how they are.
  4. Why I love my Tanker? Everyone else is a squishy when I play them.

It's not as easy as just dumping SO's into a tank and calling it a day, but it can be done even on a budget.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    O_o;;

What kind of budget? Because I've not seen one that doesn't involve multiple Gift of the Ancients and Luck of the Gambler globals to manage it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My Tank doesn't even use GofA or LotG to get either +recharge or +speed because he doesn't need them.
  7. I know it can't be enhanced. I was just stating that the -dmg is pretty powerful as well.

PBU will work with Benumb. Enough reason to take it right there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I found Benumb powerful enough. Basically comes down to more -regen, huh? Personally, I like the unenhanceable aspects of it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    And -dmg.

    So, Demons?

animals be cool, bears, tigers or even mythical, hydra, griffen or sumthin

    [/ QUOTE ]
Skeletons are the big problem there. The dev team would have to create entirely new body types and dozens, if not hundreds of new animations for every single animal.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not a programmer so this is just a guess. Wouldn't they also need to work in how they would react to holds, stuns, sleep, confuse, knockback, and immobilization effects?
  10. Jetpack, I don't think he is. He's right for the most part because Brutes just suck at surviving without buffs. Tanks are beasts with or without 'em.

Last night, one of the people on my global 'friends' (I don't consider him a friend anymore, just an adult who likes to complain like a five year old whenever the Devs do something. For example, the 'nerf' to Fire Tanks way back in the issues) wanted to get into arguement with me about how I said Exploding Shuriken was a horrible power and scolded him for having it on his Spines/Fire even when I made my Fire/Fire way before he made his Scrapper.

So after he was done putting words in my mouth, I told him maybe he confused the time where he said that Tanks are useless and how Scrappers can easily replace them. All of this was refuted by "Scrappers need IOs" to do it. His response was "So?" Where am I going with this? I'll tell you right now. He thinks Brutes will replace Tanks for some odd reason even when Brutes are squishy as hell. I told him that Brutes are more like Scrappers and he said he already knew that. If he already acknowledged it, then why did he try to compare the two?

What's so funny about all of this is that he still plays his Fire/Fire Tank and has yet to delete it, despite all of the crying.

Taunt is there for a reason too. It's their for the tanker's role.

It seems to me that a tanker not taking Taunt is denying the whole point of the archetype.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My SD Tank doesn't have Taunt nor does my Invul and Ice. When I use them, teams seem to go quite well.

What do you say about my Tauntless Tanks?

    PUI

I don't drink and post because I don't drink at all. Even my friend has tried to convince me when I turned 21 to drink with him.
  14. It may sound selfish, but I would never take a power that would only buff other players. As a Tank, I need that defense in order to protect other teammates, and if I don't, what good am I if I'm dead? I'm not saying that I would die as a Tank, but I think you know what I'm talking about. Hell, even without it, teams I tend to play on with my SD Tank do fine.
  15. brb, hostages escaped again.

    FBI is here.

I didn't take GC on my Tank. Why? It doesn't buff me, so why should I take it?

    Ice vs. Shield?

    [ QUOTE ]
The defense buff given to team mates is like having a built in Maneuvers. It's a perk but definitely skippable (it's not like you're giving your team a *substantial* defense bonus).

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you're talking about Grant Cover, this isn't quite right. Grant Cover gives a very substantial +11.25% def(melee, ranged, aoe) to everyone but the tanker in a 15-ft. radius. Compare that to Force Field Defenders, whose Dispersion Bubble gives +10% def(all) to everyone within 25ft.

Grant Cover also provides 17.3% defense debuff resistance.

EDIT to add that Maneuvers for a tank grants +2.275% def(all) in a massive 60ft. radius.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think you're forgetting that Dispersion Bubble also gives protection to holds, stuns, and immobilization. Along with defense to everything.

    Way to miss the point.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I got the point, you just have no actual response. You have no excuse, if you cant run CoH because of ONE buff, then you need a newer rig than I do. So what else cant your rig do?, because of ONE buff.

    [/ QUOTE ]

*sigh* I'll just leave it as is.

Because not everyone has a super fancy computer. I know that may sound crazy, but it's true.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If your planning on playing MMo's that are constantly UPDATED throughout the years than yes, you should get a better comp. Then again I can run CoH, WoW and Age of Conan with a 5 year old rig. So I'm assuming you just don't know how to play with SB or your system is so slow it overheats constantly and you get what many refer to as "slide show" gaming. Either way if you can run TF's and do EVERYTHING else, then SB should have nothing to do with your hardware. Nice try though

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Way to miss the point.

IMO, the best Blaster on AoE is Fire/Men or Fire/Fire. Best single target would be Ice/Elec or Ice/Ice. And finally the best mix of both single target and AoE would be Fire/Men or Fire/Elec.

    Edit: Forgot Fire/EM and Ice/EM.

Sounds like to me that Navigator is speaking like a true Tank.

Granite: Add Speed/Rech resistance. Sorry stoners, one Kin should not be able to complete negate the down side of this awesome power. Sure a couple of Kins can speed you up, but not a single one.
