Quote:Pretty much all of the "answer" (versus the "request clarification") posts in this thread are saying just that. Free users do not have access to inventions, period. Ever. Premiums only have access to inventions with either a) a $2 license that lasts one month, or b) a bunch of vet tokens.Isn't there also a restriction to inventions for free and premiums?

If a Preemie account has 27 reward tokens (fill up Tier 7), they can access Inventions unlimited. If neither of these are true, a Preemie cannot access anything to do with Inventions. (Same as a Freemie.) -
Insults aside? I didn't insult you at all. Don't take away anything from my posts that isn't there. I said you may not be able to parse CoD (this is not an insult, and is a common occurrence that I've seen here and on the Titan forums) or that you may not be able to read (which is an obvious joke because you're posting on a text-based forum).

Quote:According to the costume panel, the clipping they're talking about is how a back-item jetpack would clip with a temporary-power jetpack (e.g. GvE Jump Pack, Raptor Pack, Steamjet, etc.) They have no way to make the temporary-power jetpack not show up and animate alongside/inside/overtop of the back-item. And thus it looks really bad.If I had to guess, the clipping that they're concerned with isn't the jetpack itself, but due to the way flying animations are posed, that the jet would burn the lower halves of our characters.
Look at the handful of jetpacks/zero-g pack that we can get currently to see how they've positioned the possible fire hazards.
Although to be honest, the back items we have now look really bad with temporary-power jetpacks. They're just not competing for the same animation "style" (e.g. two flight packs, vs a backpack and a flight pack). -
If you're including a gototray command, put it at the very end. Gototray commands strip out anything after them.

Take a screenshot of a demo. Voila, you now have a splasher image to use.
edit: I see the problem: I said "Screenshot or demo edit" instead of what I meant, which was "Screenshot *OF* demo edit". -

Quote:I linked there in the second post in this thread -- and the OP either cannot parse CoD (somewhat common, the first time I saw CoD it made my eyes cross), or simply cannot read (less likely, considering he's posting on a text-based forum [ignoring blindness accessibility for a crass joke]).City of Data agrees with you (and so do I
).
My first link goes to Scrapper Burn - nowhere in it does it say fear or avoid.
My second link goes to Pets_Burn, which is the pseudo pet that Scrapper Burn summons, in addition to Tanker, Brute, and Blaster Burn...in addition to a couple other sources. So there is literally no way for the pseudo pet that Scrapper Burn summons to be different from the pseudo pets that Tanker or Brute Burn summon. They are the same thing. -
Salvage and recipes don't drop unless you have access to the invention system (either by license or by tokens or by VIP), so freebies won't be glutting the market with their unusable bits and bobs.

Scrapper Burn doesn't have the avoid/fear in it.
Fiery Aura's Burn for Scrappers:

summons the same pet that Tanker_Defense and Brute_Defense.Fiery_Aura and Blaster_Support.Fire_Manipulation summons:

The devs told a funny story at the PAX panel about the Awesome buttons, that during some kind of secret preview with no cameras/filming, people wearing Awesome buttons (which have a tiny little red blinking light, quite like the recording light of a camcorder) would trigger the camera police to swoop in with the "naughty!" finger-shake, only to leave frustrated and confused.

Beta server account data is from June, if you weren't subbed in June (I think on/around June 24 was the comment at PAX) then you don't automatically have access. You have to request access from /petition (and PM to Zwillinger).

At the costume panel, I was the first in line during the costume suggestion part and I asked for Kheldian sashes. Second Measure wrote it down. I saw him do it! *squinty stare in California's direction* I saw him do it!

I don't like tankers. I don't have the patience to live through low damage and mediocre defense in order to get to the uber meatshields that late-game tankers become. I have gotten a tanker to level 30 by sheer brute force, and it's taken me almost three years to get her there. I have despaired of ever actually taking her to 50 unless I farm (and generally I don't like to farm).
I also am not much of a fan of Stalkers, though it's more of a concept thing than how the archetype performs. I don't like having to stop between spawns, and wait for hide to come back to get the best out of my gameplay. -

Purchase the Good versus Evil version on any other website, or in a brick-and-mortar store.
It's currently not available on the Paragon Market in beta, but not everything is showing there yet so can't say definitively. -
My fiance sort of had this happen to him, he has at least T2 in everything (T2 Interface, T3 Destiny/Lore/Judgement, T4 Alpha) and just after the start of his BAF trial (about halfway through the Warworks), all of his incarnate powers disappeared. (He may or may not have been the person Ms. Mesmer is talking about! lol) He died a horrible, neglected death as we pawed through all his settings and windows to see if something would bring them back but couldn't figure anything out. He finished the BAF and quit for the night after sending a petition in. The next morning, I logged him in before going to work and his powers were back.
(The petition response later in the morning was a generic copy/paste "we couldn't find anything wrong, we're glad you got your problem fixed without us! if you still need help, please respond!") -
Quote:That's not counting marathon play dates (especially common in DXP!) which reduces the "x a day every day" number, nor does it factor in AFK farming for badges (damage and healing were/are the most common AFK farming). Plus there are surveys and polls all over the net that say there is a rather large slice of the gaming community that *DOES* *INDEED* play for many hours, every day (or at least most days).Yeah, I don't think those numbers can be considered accurate in general. There's been about 7 and a third years since launch, about 64000 hours. If you've played, for example, 13000+ hours as Turg reports, then you'dve been playing roughly a fifth of the TOTAL time passed since launch. That's almost 5 hours a day, every day, for the past 7+ years. That just isn't feasable. Which sucks, because it's an interesting question.
I would not be surprised at all to see some people coming in over that, especially folks with multiple badging toons, extra especially if they got the AFK farming badges before they were made easier. -
Yeah, make sure you're trying to get into "Beta Server" (the currently active beta server), not "Beta Server VIP Test" (not available for actual testing).
Previously (before they implemented the freebie accounts and took away Street Justice) we were testing on "Beta Server 01" which is now also inaccessible. -
Quote:Just curious, what post are you reading? Because it certainly isn't mine. It doesn't imply a darn thing about what people will be when Freedom launches. It says "everyone subscribing right now is a VIP without being called a VIP" (paraphrase), with nary a hint at "after "right now"".How you said it (highlighted portion), is correct. How Claws stated it, is not. Then again, to get REALLY nit-picky, even what you say is an incorrect way of saying it (implies that anyone currently playing/subscribing will stay a VIP).

Quote:The devs' stance is "no replacing old powers" (this is called the "cottage rule") unless it's replaced with something substantially the same but better (see: Conserve Power -> Energize). They have never, ever said "no updating old powers, only create new". The devs regularly go back and tweak old sets/powers; in addition to the above listed changes, PBs and WSs are getting updates in I21.the Devs stance was no updating old powers, focusing on new. Now, I don't think it had to do with animations, it was balance and tweaking the power itself.
Several powers and sometimes whole sets - sometimes whole ATs! - have gotten changed over the last couple years. (Ignoring the standard balancing tweaks that always come with newly released sets, even!)
Specifically in regards to the FF comments at the panel (I was there), they said they would look at how FF performs (considering it has several powers that do almost exactly the same thing) in the later levels. But they also said they wouldn't guarantee anything would come of it. -
Quote:Sure does.it also look that I can build brainstorms with it, but the wiki doesn't say what good they do you...

The highlighted portion is not incorrect. Everyone playing the game right now who is not on a trial account is a subscriber, and that's what a VIP is. A subscriber. So Claws is saying that everyone subscribing right now is already a VIP, we're just not called VIPs yet.

/silly/ But with the introduction of Day Job Badges, he's not blacking out, he's just going "On Patrol"! Or he's doing his duty as a "Vanguard Recruit"! /silly/
