Thats not really it, i have just had it for sooooo long. I want to try something new, but i enjoy doing the lib farm because i can usually get at least 1 purple a day. Which is only a few runs solo. Its just getting to the point of mind numbing, thats why i want to try something new. So since alphas came out didnt know if someone has come up with something new yet that could do it. Maybe SS/Elec or invuln brutes. Tanks dont do enough damage for me and scrappers seem like they arent strong enough.

i would still say cardiac only because its a given for resist sets imohp. Good end red and res enhancement makes it a A+ in my book.!

So a couple days ago I posted in the brute forums that I wanted to make a new brute... An all around brute. Only to think about the fact /fa brutes run ae pretty quickly. I'm getting bored with running a ss/fa and want to do something new. I have always had good luck with getting purples on the liberate the television map and would like something that could run it pretty easily. Or if anyone knows a different farm and a good at set duo I'm always willing to do some other map. Money is not an issue and I would like to make this into my primary character. A lot of farming and a good amount of ae time. All input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'll have to roll a /dark and /EA one day and see what that's about, I keep hearing 'win' from those two, but as far as 'taking a beating', well... if it is any help, I'm running a Brawl only/WP brute around taking out 3 +2 bosses at a time... And lots of +3 bosses solo, and +4 and +5 even LTs, in my 30s. (Yeah, I know, I'm weird.)
With just brawl. With claws or SS, you'll be nigh upon an invincible whirling/stomping dervish in a lot of cases.
I like WP because it's a really well rounded defense set, with Psionics included... Psi critters HURT. Not many secondaries cover them all. That said, indeed, alphas can be an issue with WP. Strategy can be your best friend on this, in slotting things correctly to withstand the alphas. Then it's just stand there and smile as they try to take you down. Heh.
It's also got a lot of -tohit which helps a lot. If you are defensed, resisted, and to top it off they can't even hit you... well... yeah, it's a case for 'tank'.
In case that matters to ya. I'm sure I'll get shot down for this, but that's ok. -
After really thinking about it i decided to keep the /fa for farming but i still wouldnt mind running something for trials and end game content tfs and things. Is invul still the best choice or is there a more sustainable build that has a good amount of damage and is still sturdy?

I was thinking about a good investment, my issue is i have the time and money but i dont want to waste my time with a character thats going to faceplant against 1/2 the things in the game. I was more less aiming towards a defensive set as a secondary only because i have a /wp a /fa and they are meh to me. I like the looks of EA just dont know how sturdy it can will be on trials and fire farms.

So im looking to cure my most recent case of Altitus. I currently have 50 ss/fa 50 ss/wp 50 fm/fa brutes and they are fun... Kinda.... Im not a huge fan of SS or Fire anything anymore. SO i decided to come to the boards and ask the people that know best, what is a powerfull brute that will be able to take a beating. Its going to be spending some decent amount of time in Trials and fire farms. Im trying to make a one size fits all type of character. So whats your thoughts? Oh and would the 0% fire resistance gimp a /EA brute in a fire farm?

Trying to make my 50 son/rad into a AV machine, just joined a new sg and moving her over to heroes because they run nightly TFs. Was wondering what powers i could skip so she could still stay self sufficient but be able to help the team out in a big way. Anyone have any advice for me?

Actually, my ss/fa is and has been done for over a year now, im just coming back after not playing for 5 mos. Sorry to push the wrong button on you guys just trying to start a friendly convo since everyone on this board is stressing about farming and how the ss/fa is the best just wanted to see what people could/did come up with.

Alright now that this is decently off topic, MMs are really Melee in my eyes. So geuss a new question would be what would be a good brute w/o picking SS/ FM/ or /FA that could roll from 1-50 in ALL content without spending lots of time running from the hosp?

Hello, im built many farmers in my day, ss/wp ss/stone elec/sd ss/elec and now ss/fire fire/fire, all brutes and all 50s. Now im trying to find something that will be able to take the cake vs AVs, i mostly play on redside and i would love to play from 1-50 w/o farming at all then be able to destroy AVs. So heres the question, what melee redside character would be able to lvl 1-50 solo and then take AVs down w/o insps and temps? Primary and Secondaries as well as classes.

(im only biased to redside because thats where all of my characters are, i would be willing to switch to blue side if there was something worth going there for.) -

I have a 50 ss/wp that i have had for some time now still with just reg sos in her... looking to make myself a pretty decent character and not really caring what the cost is. I know i have to invest in a character and im chosing this. Anyone that has a 50 ss/wp iod please give me a heads up on if this is going to work and if not what i need to change so it will.
