  1. I would agree with that if we got an indestructible floor item to replace all the destructible desks that are currently used as floors.
  2. Sure, in reality you could tilt stairs (lay the flight flat) so that they are on a level plane, but the landings would have to be warped. It is still an optical illusion at the end of the day.

And physics aside, I believe we can't tilt anything at the required angle in game.
  3. Accent lamps. Place lamps in a stack, maneuver stairs section, remove lamps.
  4. That endless stair is not happening in a proper 3d space. It is a 2d optical illusion.
  5. I believe you can just keep promoting him, and it should prompt you at the final promotion if you want to make him super group leader.
  6. I would appreciate being able to select different power set combos with your second build choice if you had to level from one once you spec'ed out of your original power set choices.

with this concept, spec'ing back in to your original power set choices would restore you to whatever level your original set is at.

My character is a technology character. It makes sense conceptually to be able to put down the power fists and pick up and learn how to use a rifle from level 1.
  7. People typically use counters for a uniform appearance, but calling them desks is a hold over from the "magic desk" days.
  8. You will need to pull the last row of desks away from the wall to be able to move the rooms around. Once they are repositioned you can put the desks back.
  9. This is true. Only the first two rooms allow 1 energy source; a 2X2 at 100k pres and a 2X4 at 190k pres. All the rest allow 2, starting with the 3X3 energy station at 162.5k pres.

  11. Not to be a downer, but what are the chances that they will have the map-server issues fixed by then?
  12. Super computer consumes 500 energy.

  15. After a distressing incident in which all the tenured professors fled criminal prosecution to the Rogue Isles, Alsoa had the remains of the department dropped in her lap by the University Board of directors, as she was the only one left that had a working knowledge of the ongoing experiments. Managing the testing conducted by her fellow grad students and dealing with a now-radioactive college freshman sister would be enough to try a saint, but then add on the pursuit of her Master's degree and she is lucky she is still sane. Having just been granted her Master's, she is more confidant in her dealings with the University staff, but she is always on the lookout for new researchers to assist in the ongoing experimentation.

  16. Not much special about my base, but I still get compliments.

    Main entrance.

    Reception...

    ...and the lounge above it.

The view from the lounge windows.

More views of the base will come in a later post, as the forums only allow you to link four photos. Click thumbnails to see larger pictures as well as the rest of the base.

You will need a secure plot and 2 energy rooms, if you plan on running two of those generators.
  18. For that matter, my stance on it is pretty flexable. 100 pages is a nice round number, but there is nothing saying that number couldn't be 150 or 200. The key point of the matter is to keep the issues current. In persuit of that goal, there is nothing saying that the cutoff couldn't be 30, 60, or 90 days rather than a specific post count.
  19. Learn to math.

I am talking about 1500 replies, which upon clicking the first thread I saw that was even close (over 1400 replies) shows that the thread was first created in March. For the purposes of keeping threads current with the issues they discuss, four to five months is plenty long for a single thread on a topic to run.

Compare that to Jay's costume request thread. That one clocks in at a hefty 11,000 replies, and it was started in June of 2006. There is no way you can tell me that the bulk of that thread is anything but dead weight. No one, including the devs, will read it all. New poeple won't go near it, except perhaps to toss another post on the pile, duplicating something that was asked for every 3 months for the past 3 years.

If you got your requested show all on that thread you would crash your PC.

The moderators don't have to be the ones to make the new thread. All they do is lock the thread at 100 pages and post that someone should make a new OP. Those who are interested in the topic can handle the hard parts.

Ah but DJ Zero wouldn't let them so the most they'd come to is some harsh words.

Still, Pocket D Zone event right there.

    "Babbage spotted in Boomtown"
"Ghost Ship sighted in Independance Port"
"Ghost Widow and War Witch are yelling at each other in Pocket D... again"

Yanno, I think if GW and WW decided to have at it, I don't think Zero would get much say in the matter. He has enough trouble with Snaptooth let alone signature characters!

    That's just a ploy - he's really a transdimensional god-like being
Yeah, I would imagine that if Zero can create the space the D is located in his bite is a LOT bigger than his bark. Imagine him losing you forever in an inter-dimensional space.

Most of their issues recently have been upstream ISP issues, actually.
  23. Can the threads that have been around for 100 pages get locked, with a new thread made collecting the important bits of its predecessor into the original post? This keeps threads current with the actual state of the issues they talk about, puts less stress on the forums servers, and it isn't so intimidating to people that haven't been following along the whole time.

It works too. This is a policy that is followed on the penny-arcade forums (surely the devs have heard of them), and there are no issues with the practice.
  24. Map served for 10 minutes straight on Virtue earlier without disconnecting to login screen. That was fun.
