How to change leaders of a SG?

One of my characters became leader of the guild after a period of inactivity. Now the original leader is back and I wondering what the easiest way to make him leader was. We are both "overlords" (we are villains). Best we can come up with is my toon quitting the SG and being reinvited. That seems clunky.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but this seemed like the closest area.

I believe you can just keep promoting him, and it should prompt you at the final promotion if you want to make him super group leader.

Correct.
Assuming the OP is the highest rank (super leader, marked by a red star). When the other person is one rank lower and you try to promote them, it will ask if you are sure. If you confirm it, the other person will be promoted to super leader and you will be automatically DEMOTED one step.
"There can be only one."

P.S. Saying your'e both 'Overlords' doesn't actually tell us anything. The rank names are editable. You can have all 6 ranks set as 'Overlord'. If you're both the exact same rank, based on the SYMBOL, not the rank name, then NEITHER of you is the real leader. There can only be one super leader under the new system.

Yes, you should be able to promote the character no problem. And you will get auto demoted to the SG Title just below.

/threadjack (of sorts)

I have a question regarding deleting the Super Leader toon. I decided to set-up a SG with several of my alts and didn't have the foresight not to have a new, lowbie toon created as the Super Leader. I've decided I'd like to remake the character.

My question is: how would the transfer of the Super Leader role work if I delete the toon? Do the same rules apply as if I hadn't logged him in and the promotion went to the next available toon? I have a specific toon to which I'd like to have auto-promoted to Super Leader.

I checked out ParagonWiki but couldn't find the info. Thanks in advance.

I'm also stuck on an SG leader change issue.

I've played around 3 months a year since release - the game just can't hold my attention. At CoV release, I started a VG that grew fairly large fairly quickly. Items of Power, Base Raids and PVP were ultimately a huge disappointment and I left.

Upon my return a year or so later, I was immediately reinstated as the VG leader by the system. This is how I think it should work all the time, but apparently that's not the case. I'm still the oldest member of my VG, and I'm still on top of the prestige counter. However, someone I've never met who hasn't been on in a couple weeks has the big red star.

I'm glad I haven't been kicked and robbed of my VG thanks to forced autodemotion, but it looks like this person isn't actually playing the character, so I can't ask for the star back. Is there a way to force the system to promote me so I can start recruiting again? If not, is this something a GM can do? I put in a help request, but never got a response.

Hope this can help. The big red star was awarded to the most recent leader/captain who was online the time they issued it. In other words, I founded my SG, but my co-leader plays late nights, so he was awarded the red star.

The red star can be given to you, but you have to have the person with the red star promote you to that status. In tern, he will loose the red star and you gain it. So, you may want to communicate with him to log into that toon with the red star and /promote <name> you.

The auto-promote should still kick in after 45 days, or whatever you have it set to, shouldn't it?

It should, but who ever is first to log in after the 45 days (or what you have it set to) will have the red star.

..which'll be one of the 3 active people in the guild, which'll be fine.

I'd just like to start recruiting before that date comes without worrying about the star landing on a hapless newbie who logs in early. I'm also locked out of rejoining my coalition until after the star passes to me.

So my only option is to wait? How frustrating. I deliberately set the top 2 ranks to be able to adjust the autodemotion before I went off to buy a house, and thanks to the 'red star' patch I've been demoted to rank 3.
