  1. Welcome back Nethergoat!

Glad to hear that the family is doing well.

When you get the chance, take a stroll through Dark Astoria. Its... different now.
  2. I have tested several characters using this costume piece. Adjusting scales does not reduce the clipping. It appears that they simply plugged in a dimension adjustment straight into the spreadsheet without checking for compatability with non-jacket tops.

    Patch notes for build 2010.201104142136.1.

    COMBINED

    NC Launcher
    • Added optional file verification step which can be invoked by passing "-verify" on the command line (in Properties). This process will run once at application launch and will check the size and checksum for each file in the COH folder to verify the files are not corrupt.

    Map Crashes
    • Fixed some stability issues which were causing map server crashes.

    CITY OF HEROES
    • None

    CITY OF VILLAINS
    • None

    PRAETORIA
    • None
    Win?
  4. 100 mil on no real patch notes. Just a vague "Addressing serverside issues" blurb.

As for the lack of announcement until the servers were down, par for the course. The community team here does a very good job of communicating with us. They need to work on the timeliness of their communication badly though.

  5. :: Throws sacks of inf spattered with chicken blood and rum on the fire ::

There. Does that qualify me for Truly Ebil Marketeer?
  6. 25 inf and 3 Ceramic Armor Plates, slightly used.
  7. As soon as some of my niches come through and I dump some more inf on the burn pile I'll do some decorating. One of those rooms is fated to become my shrine to Baron Samedi and Adam Smith.
  8. This looks interesting. Since I can finally play with something approaching regularity now can I hit someone up for an invite?

If nobody has done it yet I'll pay all those back dues I owe the Ebil Marketeer Club by rounding up all the SG beacons.
  9. 1) Thunderous Blast and all variants thereof, including Energy Transfer.

    2) Blazing Bolt. In fact the option to use the manga power buildup like Blazing Bolt currently has or the fist out blast of doom animation for all snipes would be quite acceptable and not require a new animation from scratch.

    3) Thunderous Blast and all variants thereof, including Energy Transfer.

    4) Total Focus and variants thereof. An animation that fits the required time window but did not require leaping off the ground and exposing one's choice of undergarments to your teammates would be nice. I understand that this is considered a strength of the power in some circles but an alternate animation would be welcome.

    5) Thunderous Blast and all variants thereof, including Energy Transfer.

    6) Shadow Maul. I am not sure how you would go about this one considering the requirements for both an eternity of animation time and four ticks of damage but...

    7) See 1, 3 and 5. Seriously, if you only change one animation please let it be this one.
  10. Liquidating what I can't fit into my storage bases. I trust database migrations like I trust lite beer to have flavor. Not. At. All.

Don't blame players; blame the designers at Cryptic and/or Paragon who made and upheld the decision, and have finally reversed it.
    QFAT.

I am an unrepentant hardened roleplayer and I apologize to nobody for it.

I am also on record in these forums as backing a market merger.

Perhaps a narrower brush is needed here?
  12. I received the last of the items that had been purged this morning. If you haven't gotten your items back yet please bear in mind that they are dealing with a lot of these petitions. I had zero acrimony or arguing from the GM team, they asked some questions, found the items, and returned them.

    Just be patient.

Either send a /petition ingame or use the link in Avatea's signature for the servers you play on. Use "Email attachments deleted" as your subject line. Try to give them as much information as you remember, especially what global sent the email, your global and your NCSoft account name. Also it will help them to know what server you have played on the most in the last month or what server you were logged into when you sent the items you lost.

And remember, they have had a significant number of these incidents happen. Your petition might take a few days to be resolved but they are trying to reimburse everyone who lost items.
  14. Thank you Avatea. Problems are going to happen. Sometimes things slip through the cracks. And given human nature, people are going to react negatively to having these things happen. I'll be the first to admit that my own reactions were harsher than they should have been and for that I apologize.

Thank you for the time and effort to make this right.
  15. If you have lost items to the purge, send in a petition. Try to include as much detail as you can, including the global the item was sent from and the server the sender was on if you have this information.

The GM team appears committed to making this right and it appears that the powers that be have at least privately told them to just fix it. My dealings with the GM team so far have been superb.
  16. My complaint is not with the system. A 30 day purge is fine and dandy. A 30 day purge with no documentation or notice is not. If we had been told up front that the attachments went poof after 30 days it would be my fault I spent too much time trying to decide what to do with the recipes.

However, we were NOT told we had 30 days until a few hours ago.

Therein lies my complaint. Undocumented "features" like this are not equitable or fair.
  17. I think I have a legitimate beef here. Below is a cut and paste directly from the NCsoft support website. NOWHERE does it mention a 30 day deletion window.

In-game Email and attachments Question How does in-game Email work in City of Heroes and City of Villains? Can characters transfer items and currency using in-game Email? Can they be sent between characters on the same account? Answer Attachments can now be added to in-game Email messages. This was added in the Issue 17 free update on April 28, 2010.
Email is an in-game messaging system, set apart from channel and global chat. Emails can be sent to any character or global handle, and be received even if a player is offline at the time. Unlike most chat messages, Email messages will not be lost unless they are deleted by the recipient, or the sender is placed on Ignore.
Email must be active for any messages to be sent, with or without attachments. There are two options related to enabling in-game Email, which can be found by clicking Menu, then Options, and scrolling down from the General tab. It should look like this:
If "In-Game Email" is set to Disabled, Email will not appear as an option above the chat window. "Friends and Supergroup Only" will restrict the players allowed to send Email messages to you, if it is Enabled. Setting this option to Disabled will allow anyone to send Email to your characters.
Clicking Email will bring up an interface that looks like this:
This example shows an "Inbox" interface with no Email messages. Messages can be organized by clicking the "From," "Subject" and "Date" headers. Any message, once selected, will highlight the other buttons: "Reply" and "Reply all" will create new messages in reply to the message. "Forward" will send the message to a new recipient. "Delete" will remove the message entirely. "Spam" will do the same, and will additionally send a message to the game server to flag the sender as a spammer.
Note: Once deleted, a message cannot be retrieved by Game Support. However, the attachment might be retrievable. It is not possible to delete more than one message at a time.
Clicking "New" will present an interface much like the following image:
This message has an "Enrage" Inspiration attached. To attach an item, drag it to the top right field in the interface. To attach Influence (or Infamy for Villains,) click the field and type in the amount you want to send.
    Some important points to note:
    • Emails can be sent between characters on the same server, but they can also be sent to global handles.
    • If you want to send an Email message with an attachment, you must send the message to a global handle.
    • Messages to global handles must include "@" at the start of the "To:" field.
    • If you want to send items, Influence or Infamy between your own account's characters via Email attachment, you must send the messages to your own global handle. You can find out your own global handle with the command: /gethandle
    • Any message sent to your global handle (including messages you send yourself) can be claimed by any character on your account, with the following exceptions:
      • Heroes can only accept attachments from other Heroes, and Villains can only accept attachments from Villains.
      • Email attachments can only be claimed once, by one character, from a message.
    • An Email "Inbox" can only contain 20 messages at a time. If you have 20 messages sitting in your Inbox, you cannot send new messages.
  18. It would have been really nice of you to tell us this BEFORE items started being deleted.

Who do I talk to about being reimbursed for the lost recipes?
  19. Take the animations for Thunderous Blast and Energy Transfer out back and shoot them. Repeatedly.

Then replace them with another animation that fits the required time window.

I have no desire to rehash the debate as to why Energy Transfer has this animation now, but please please please can we get a long plodding animation for it that looks visually interesting and powerful instead of the kludge we currently have?

Secondly, the animations for Tough and Integration need to be shot if you have any ammunition left. Macho-Tarzan-Tough-Guy power activate simply does not work if you are five foot four and female.
  20. Ditto. I have the same bug on my Thugs Mastermind.

I would KILL for the opportunity to pay hero prices for items. Right now the problem is some of the things I want are not available in a time frame that suits me. Even if I am paying more, (not always true.) at least I would have the opportunity to obtain the items I covet in a reasonable timeframe. And if I want to buy it NAO and overbid horribly, so what? I raise INF just as easily red or blue side.

    Congratulations Cat.
  25. I predict less disruption than a new issue release here. Personally, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. The Smiling Jack effect and the whole concept of engineered for console play are both big turnoffs. I do not and will not own a console system. Not to mention that Jack's name on the cover leaves me cold.

Regardless of what happens, those that remain will find a way to adapt and prosper under any market changes, just like we always do.
