My sub left my card on the 21st of August, I'm still waiting for my partial refund.
Not happy that they've still not refunded me, even less happy that they're closing us down. -
Quote:Who knew that would happen.......Sadly the character copy tool is not going to be ready in time for the EU Test. As such, we'll be rescheduling the EU test for a later date. My most sincere apologies to everyone who was looking forward to testing.
Silver lining though - the Community team will be jumping onto live EU servers (Union, Defiant, Vigilance and Zukunft) in Pocket D during the originally planned playtest hours to give away some Steampunk pack codes and other various costume codes (between 8:00 PM BST -11:00 PM BST). Avatea will be making an official post shortly regarding the what servers we'll be on at what time.
Again, my apologies for the rescheduling and we'll see you all in Pocket D this evening!
I'd much rather have been wrong though -
Quote:Have you copied a character to the test server? if so, do tell us how you managed it and if not, how were you going to run the trial?I have been getting that also, only 2 Beta servers, 01 and 13, not allowed on 01, 13 gives the patcher message which, incidentally, is up to date. So confused right now and want to make my steampunk outfit ready for the battling. Advice required please.
I'm hoping you've found a way past the problem of the character copy tool ignoring the EU servers..... [are we still calling them EU servers?] -
Quote:Ok, we're down to six hours to go and still no way any EU account can attend. I know it's early morning for you guys but can we have an update please? As far as I have been informed, character copies will be enabled by Tuesday. If this is not the case, we will reschedule for another date.
I'm actually expecting a revised date for the test at this stage though. -
It's been said that downtime is required, so I'd guess the 10th along with the merge.
-
I'm with Dante on this, you can tell I've been shafted already with my forum name (especially irritating since the other player doesn't seem to use the forums at all).
Merged server list? not high on my list of things they should be doing, and I'm 99% sure my global will be lost to me tomorrow .
Been here as Overload since EU beta, not looking forward to logging on after the list merge. -
I think an official post early on stated that all affected accounts would have a global rename token. No idea if anything has changed that but I really doubt that we'll be left with the games choice of global forced upon us.

Quote:A redname posted this.I originally started playing late 2008 and then let my subscription lapse for a while until by buddy says, "hey, you should get back into CoH"
So, I fund my account and THEN I see all the threads that this needed to have your account live on 2/1/11. I missed by a full 2 weeks. I'm kinda sad because I'd LOVE to have vanguard pieces available to every character - I'm a costume junkie.
If it was possible, I'd pay for a month of game time in the PAST just so I would be eligible for this.
Discussion: Grace Period for Seven Years of Super Rewards
We announced last week that the Seven Years of Super Rewards loyalty program would begin on February 1, and end on April 18. But then we thought, "Hey, what good are rewards if everyone can't get a shot at them?" So because some of you might not have seen Tuesday's announcement or received our City of Heroes newsletter, we've set up a grace period of two weeks--which means the loyalty program will officially start on FEBRUARY 14, 2011. Players who keep an unbroken subscription from February 14 (12:01 a.m. EST / 5:01 a.m. GMT) to April 18 (11:59 p.m. EST / 4:59 a.m. GMT) will now earn the Seven Years of Super Rewards...rewards!
So be sure to have an active subscription from February 14th, and enjoy the rewards come April 28th!
You might just scrape through. -
How about animation options for the Medicine pool so that the heals don't look stupid coming from non sci/tech characters.
-
I'd like the clockwork weaponry, the flamethrowers and the beam (plasma based?) weapons. The graphic effects are stunning.
-
Doesn't the foe also have to be your level or higher? I'm sure I read that in some thread somewhere . . .
-
Just to note that the path to the updater executable will be different for those on 64 bit systems, it will look something like
"C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\cohupdater.eu.exe"
Use it without the .eu for the NA server population though. -
On the subject of undercover work. How do you call the other side and when? I've had nothing in the mission text to click on, not even the "those that.... can call xxx" line. If I just called the contact from the list there are no options other than a normal call.
What exactly am I supposed to be clicking on to call the other side? Just so I know whether it's me being stupid or the game..... -
Until GR, Union hasn't seen anything other than "light load" since CoH launch. GR launch day saw Union go red on the server list and Defiant amber and both have been amber regularly since. There has been a massive influx of players with GR, both returnees and newbies.
If the majority of the vets (including me) are complaining about the overall strength of the opposition in Praetoria, it has to be really bad for new players. I think the few players that think the current settings are fine and we should all just deal with it really should take into account that a lot of us are casual gamers and those new to the game are just going to go play something else after hitting a brick wall in more than one mission.
None of us want to take away the current challenge, just add an option to allow the casual players a chance.
This game already has direct competition and more is around the corner. Should the devs really be making life so hard for (most) new players that they just think "This is crap, I'll go check out the other super mmo's."? And by new players, I mean new with GR.
I'm guessing that Union may well be back to "light load" about one month after GR launch though I hope that wont be the case. -
You could try the vidiotmaps section of the badge hunter website
http://www.badge-hunter.com/index.php?/page/maps.php
The world map it shows may be what you need. -
Quote:I got it last night approaching a sharp spit of sand pointing north toward the southern end of Nova.
This worked for me as well, easy enough to see where on the map. I used no heals or insps [think I had a regen bonus though] and had little health left out of 320 - 330 [or whatever a level 21 dominator has] -
Quote:Can I second this?I didn't mean to imply that I was an "expert" in this game. I'm not. I'm a casual player. But one with 6 years of experience. I don't farm. I don't have ub3rl33t purple toons. I don't solo +5 AVs. At this point I really don't want to feel like every mission is a high-end TF. And that's how it feels. I can't just throw together a PUG and go. I have to very carefully build a balanced team (which isn't too difficult now because there are so many people playing, but what happens when things settle down?), and even then there's no guarantee of success. I'm sorry, but this isn't fun for me. It's work. And I don't play games to work, I play to have fun.
So if one likes the challenge of high end TFs and that mentality of playing, then sure, they're not going to see any problems with Praetoria. But they must realize they are in the minority. Some of us (dare I say most of us) just like being able to run into a room, aggro everything up, and rickroll them. Cause y'know, that's all superheroey and FUN. Sitting at the door while someone plinks away at critters cause we're afraid to run in isn't fun. It's boring. Sitting at the door while someone plinks away at critters and 15 of them bumrush us while another 15 spawn behind us isn't fun either. It's aggravating. If you think that kind of thing is fun, then we're not even in the same book, let alone on the same page.
I've been playing since EU CoH beta and I have to say that right now, there should be a difficulty warning when you select Praetoria for a new character. Maybe advise new players that they would be better starting their first character in Paragon etc....
I've played through weeks of the beta and found that for me the Syndicate sword mobs are really nasty and two +1's will take my toon down with one hit from each. Since most maps seem to be mostly +1's [subjective], hospital trips were way too frequent. -
Yes, it's not working again, and I've found this out *after* I deleted the 50 blaster I wanted to test.
-
Well, Union is up right now . . . .
-
ok, so I had to post in this thread so I can send an email with the correct current forum name in it......
