Changing Upload Screen

Hello, I am not sure if this was covered already, but is there a way to change your up-load graphics with out re-installing the game entirely? Currently I have the Heroes and Villains upload screen, but I want the new going rogue screen.

So is there anything I can do that isn't so drastic an time consuming?

Thanks

Right click your shortcut, go to properties, and add -uiskin 2 to the target address.

So it should look like this?

"C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\cityofheroes-uiskin 2.exe"

More like:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\cityofheroes.exe" -uiskin 2

Though I can't remember right now if the last quote goes after the .exe like I have above, or if it should go after the number 2. If one doesn't work, try the other way.

"You'll never defeat SetTargetHealth 0. "-Castle

"Oh, and well probably nerf Regen againjust for fun."-BaB

Tried that, and this
"C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\cityofheroes.exe-uiskin 2"

It is not working though.

Thanks for the help.

This is mine

"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -uiskin 2

Remember, it has to have a space before the -.

You can't link directly to CityOfHeroes.exe unless you are using the -project tag to bypass the updater.

The correct paths would be:
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -uiskin 2
or
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh -uiskin 2

On a side note, You can also change the icon for your shortcut to the new Praetorian one on the same screen by clicking Change Icon and selecting the cityofheroes.exe file for your choice between: CoH, CoV, Cryptic, NCSoft, and Praetorian.

Thanks for the useful info everyone. A little spin on the OP's original question:
Is there a way to keep the same UI skin (black/grey) while changing only the loading screen (not too fond of the Going Rogue one but the UI is nicer than the blue/red one)? I've tried -uiskin 1 but that's all red (villains) and -uiskin 0 seems to be the same as -uiskin 2.

The UI color is saved to each character individually, not the client. The default color is different for each of the 3 "sides" that you pick. From there, you can change the color to anything you want by going to:
Options (Window) > Graphics and Audio (Tab) > User Interface (Category near the bottom)

To get a gray color, you would set the Red, Green and Blue sliders to the same number. Raising and lowering the numbers would make it lighter or darker. I think the default Praetorian gray is around 45-50.

Just to note that the path to the updater executable will be different for those on 64 bit systems, it will look something like

"C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\cohupdater.eu.exe"

Use it without the .eu for the NA server population though.

Thanks a lot for that Master-Blade

Now they gave me a fix that has been working and I have not gotten problems since the fix. The path is -useTexEnvCombine

Now with that how would I change my up load screen to the Going Rogue upload graphic without disrupting the fix?

You can still use "XX\XX\CohUpdater.exe" -useTexEnvCombine -uiskin 2, unless something has changed about shortcut cmds or I've mixed that idea up with something else.

You can stack flags, just remember to keep them out of the quotes and always have a space before the '-'
