For porter construction, how much of the salvage is required to make one? Is it all of it? If so, um, yeah, I'm glad my porters are done.

- Defender Power Mastery: Power Build Up. We know how much Castle hates Power Boost. What's the over/under on this becoming plain ol' Build Up?
[/ QUOTE ]
And watch defenders in mass respec out of the Power epic. The power already got recently nerfed. They don't need to remove the power out altogether. -
This comes across as fixing stuff to fix stuff regardless if it needed to be fixed in the first place. I'll defend vigilance far more than other people will, but the fact that little stuff like weapons mastery getting FA is happening while there is a wealth of support to look into getting vigilance improved upon just screams of the devs trying to justify the larger work force they now have. Pretty much every AT has been improved upon once if not more than that and yet vigilance remains.

[u]Patron Pools and APP[u]
1. They all got looked at by Posi, Castle, and minion. Datamined which ones were taken and which were ignored. Buffs, nerfs, and power replacements!
2. If powers are replaced, when you log in, you'll have the new power. No grandfathering.
3. About 20% of the A/EPPs were replaced.
4. As one example of the Epic/Patron changes, Castle mentions that Weapon Mastery for Scrappers will now include Focused Accuracy. If his memory is correct.
[/ QUOTE ]
After the reworking of Claws, I really don't have high hopes for this. Putting FA into Weapons Mastery is just....(heavy sigh) -

You may be strong and pretty, put Mencia is funny. Repetative, perhaps, but funny nonetheless.

Repetitive in the fact that it's well known he steals jokes. He's a huge hack of a comedian. -

So issie 13 should be 2-4 months away...*holding breath.
[/ QUOTE ]
4 months won't work if they are trying to do 3 issues per year. Now that they are stocking dev talent, they have no reason to not make that quota. It pretty much has to be Sep. and Dec. for the next issues.
[ QUOTE ]
The villians have so many fewer zones, so many fewer Task forces and less of everything except class.
What have the villains got for new zones or zone revamps that are NOT shared zones?
[/ QUOTE ]
The problem is something Posi mentioned. Heroside has too many zones that sit being unused. Why would the devs add more zones to match CoH when they can't keep the current zones in CoH fairly actively played? You could easily trim two zones(Boom, Crey's) from CoH right now with little recourse. Even some of the better built zones aren't exactly highly active for teams(Croatoa outside of Katie and Stringa). Somehow I don't think diversifying the smaller CoV player base over even more zones is a Good Thing(tm). -
[ QUOTE ][*]Balance: Trick Arrows lost most of its original -Recharge debuffs during I5 beta, citing that there were too many in the set. Now we have Cold Domination which can stack much higher -Recharge than Trick Arrows ever could when it was in beta. Perhaps it's worth testing how Trick Arrows performs with Glue Arrow, Ice Arrow, Entangling Arrow, and Poison Gas Arrow having their original -Recharge values back?Worth mentioning?
[/ QUOTE ]
IMO, not really. TA comes with a number of debuffs so there isn't really a primary debuff. Ice based powers primary debuff is -speed/-recharge. Give TA a -tohit debuff worth a damn instead. -

1 free character slot will be granted retroactively on a yearly basis through the current Veteran Reward system. Every 12 months that a subscription is maintained will unlock an additional free character slot that the user can apply to the server of their choice. Thus, existing players will be eligible for up to 4 additional character slots at the launch of Issue 12. This will continue into the future for Veteran Rewards given out every 12 months, so you get another slot for 5 years, another one for 6 years, etc.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait, this is like the first time ever I recall saying the devs should do something and they actually did it. I never made a big fuss about it and it was more like a chimed in comment about how it just made sense for them to give out one per year played.
So Posi, about bases and personal storage.... -
For those of use that want to make guides, this is a insanely good benefit for them since they can grab the real numbers from any power set right at the screen creation.
I would like end cost per cycle and IO set categories added as well though. -

It's more of a lame marketing ploy than it is me getting mad. I'm already thinking about what I want for dinner. It doesn't change the fact that this is a BS announcement, hence all the comments about it being a Rickroll. There was nothing in that announcement that "needed" to be made into two parts. NCSoft just decided they wanted another article on Game Zone's site to spread the word of CoX. -

QFT.
A serious, "Son of a..." moment. Yet another way to piss off the player base for giving us non-info info. Miami Dolphins 07-08 season had more win in it then this. -
[ QUOTE ]
A 'tidbit' about a zone that most ppl avoid now and only spans 5-10 levels on only one faction was hardly anything to get our hopes up about.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless something got changed, Hollows covers up to level 20. I know my Rad/rad was getting the end mish for the zone at level 20. Frostfire caps at 15 I believe(diff setting not included), but you still have half the contacts to go in that zone after him. -
[ QUOTE ]
You guys really need to put yourselves in the Dev's/Rep's shoes here.
How does what you're asking for make any sense at all except that it fulfills our desire for instant gratification?
No one with any sense ever doles out information meant to excite people with the best, most interesting news first. You give out the little things and work your way up to the best, most interesting stuff last, closest to the main event.
I want to know about the cool, nitty-gritty gameplay stuff too, but if I was in charge of giving out this info I would do exactly what they did here.
[/ QUOTE ]
Then here's what you do. You skip the big overview of what's happening and just do the break down pieces. If the Hollows rework was the first bit of info, we would have a solid week of people just talking about it. Next week we cover the new zones and beat that to death for a week. The final two homeruns would have us all in a mad frenzy and then beta testing hits. Right now, we know what's coming and that's what's making it worse.
"What did you get me?"
"I got you a car?"
"A car? Holy crap! What kind of car?"
"I can't tell you."
"Is it new, or used?"
"I'm not saying."
"Dude, you already told me you got me a car. What's the point in holding back the other info?" -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
I really hope this is not all the info we are getting today.
[/ QUOTE ]
As I stated in an earlier thread, we are still weeks out from closed beta and more weeks out from open beta and then launch. So, expect to get something on a weekly basis from now till then. If we just dumped it all out now, well we'd be sitting around going "that's nice, but when can I play it?" So, thanks for your patience and understanding that it won't all come at once.
[/ QUOTE ]
And I mean this as no offense to WW, but if you did rank what bits of info we wanted to hear about, the Hollows rework would be near last if not last. Giving us info at the rate of one per week I'm perfectly fine with. Just give us the stuff we want to know about the most first.
Again, this is no slant towards WW. My first weekend playing this game was solidified via teaming in the Hollows. Being SKed up and visiting certain spots on the map just made everything seem so much more intense. I wasn't in Atlas anymore and I knew it. Here things like CoT, Igneous, and other far more deadly things lived. I will forever remember that experience along with things like soloing Frostfire on my Rad/rad, soloing the "Hunt 10 Igneous" mish on my Sonic/en blaster, having people trash talk Igneous during their fabled mish on my Storm/dark after the team decided to try it without a "healer" and I was the only support toon, leveling 5 times on an Atta mish, that freaking CoT hell mish to unlock the Hollows Trail, and the trial itself, getting instantly owned while going through the Glutch and eventually being able to walk though it with a level 5 character with nothing more than Sprint as my travel power. I really do like that zone and I'm partly saddened it was made easier, but I'll gladly go the zone once I can access i12 and see the changes. I just wanted some of the other i12 info first.
<--- who might make a token level 5 Glutch run just for old times sake before it's changed into being easier. -
Here's a cut and paste of a post I did on the scrapper forum. Further questions might be best asked there due to the build being ideal for what I use it for and certainly others would make minor changes. The build is one with no IO set pieces outside of the one for run and that's only because I got it cheap. You could level this build with SOs, and/or common IOs and be perfectly fine 1-50.
I hit level 39, so I have 3 tohit buffs in Tactics. MoG would get slotted with recharge. Tough 1 end reduc, 3 dam resist. Weave is 1 end reduc, 3 defense. Boxing would be a token acc as I would never really use it.
[ QUOTE ]
Here's my Claws/regen at 38.
Strike: 1 acc, 3 damage
Slash: 2 acc, 3 damage, 1 recharge
Follow Up: 2 acc, 2 recharge, 1 damage
Focus: 2 acc, 3 damage, 1 recharge
Evis: 2 acc, 3 damage, 1 recharge
Shockwave: 2 acc, 2 damage
FH: 2 heal
Recon: 3 recharge, 3 heal
QR: 3 end mod
DP: 3 recharge, 3 heal
Integration: 3 heal
Resilience: 1 dam resist
IH: 1 recharge
Hasten: 1 recharge
SS: 1 level 40 Quickfoot(Run) because I got it on the cheap.
Hurdle: 1 jump
Health: 2 heal
Stamina: 3 end mod
Assault: 1 end
Tactics: 1 end
Evis is up for debate in taking it. I use it mostly for just AoE purposes. Hasten isn't "needed," but I have it for concept purposes and it nice to drop on a boss. I pretty much only solo so that's why certain powers are currently under slotted compared to conventional wisdom, ie IH with 1 slot. You could easily take two slots from Stamina and put them into IH if you wanted. The GvE jump pack is about the only sane way to do SS for travel. I could see putting off Leadership until later and then filling in MoG/Tough/Weave earlier.

Make sure you enter the price you want to sell at in the correct box near the bottom, not the buying box in the upper right hand side. (Again, I do that all the time.)

Oh man, this is so me. What's really bad is if there is a quantity slider.
"Wait, did I just..." -
I'll just add my vote to Boomtown. Many people didn't like the Hollows, but at least it was a zone with story arcs and trial. Boomtown is literally next to nothing.
-
Random thought. Considering how many people have to be on Freedom in the first place to cap it, and how easy it seems to get in with a little work, I'm wondering how many people are actually being prevented from playing. I saw Freedom locked once after I logged out and logged back in just to see if it was locked. I've gotten in a decent amount of play time on a number of my guys this weekend. And yet, people are calling it 0x exp weekend. Crying doom left and right. Complaining about the cap. Throwing all the more hate at PLers/farmers. The amount of sheer hate that is being tossed around in this forum doesn't really ballpark what's been happening in game for me.

Maybe some of you freedom people should move to Virtue and make it their problem

I already have a server full there too, and I got two levels on my Kat/sr. -
I still think a number of good solutions have been offered up. I think a 72 hour token of 2x exp gameplay that can be used on your account, or for your characters still is the ideal way to do this. Skip out on the weekend madnesss? No biggie, do it when you want to. I would love to solo some of my guys on my time getting 2x exp and not having to deal with the flood of tells asking if I want to team all the time. I prefer to not use /hide unless I'm in those godforsaken "mentor" levels.

I've seen a Rad/Sonic defender solo Adamastor.
Just saying.
[/ QUOTE ]
With two Shivans. Jock did it on Test when the latest reworking of regen happened. He also did it under 3 minutes, IIRC.
I really haven't heard of hero ATs outside of certain controllers actually soloing an AV unless a Shivan was involved. Even then, I would be hard pressed to think they didn't use inspirations. Do heroes still solo TFs? Yes they do. They just bring backup. -
Highest level Dark/dark was 12. Highest level Rad/sonic is 41 and it's been one hell of a ride. A D3 in just about any other fight would win, but even if you argue D3s are better for teaming, Rad/sonic is better for soloing and PvP.
D3: 3
Rad/sonic: 1 -

Does anyone have an I6 update for this, I'd like to know if there's a good, working build out there for "sappers" post ED?
[/ QUOTE ]
Since I posted in this earlier, I'll post my build at 50 that I just did a respec to clean up things. The build is basically the classic meleefender that the OP did, but I took the nuke and skipped ID. You can skip the nuke and take ID, but you get some extra slots to toss around and this is pretty well slotted up to start.
For those keeping score, this is a i9 minus IO sets build. You can argue a couple of the slotting based on preference, but it's still pretty spot on. There are variations to this build(leadership/staminaless), but again, this is based off of the OP's meleefender.)
Pick one of the two travel powers and leave the other for later. I prefer SJ so I took it first. This means Hasten was put off until later, but as noted it's a respec at 50. My first real respec with the build put Hasten at 8. Stealth was also much eariler, but got pushed back to 49 in the i9 respec. You could use IOs to slot for stealth in SS and skip Stealth, and thus picking up ID in it's place. I still have to kick out a IO based build for this character yet.

How do you know if you're reaching your target demographic?

Gee, if there was only a hit TV show about super heroes that they could pretty much be a goldmine as a target audience for. I see your point, but this is one year that this aspect kind of fails. Before this year, it's dead on. -

Thank you for the feedback, I guess the link to the header hasn't been updated yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not seeing it. As a person who was a mod on a web dev. forum, I really dislike using links via the headers since they are often very easy to miss. A lot of times in web design and other things you have to account for the simpletons even if it's far more often than you want too.
(wonders what a CoH ad used as a Spiderman 3 trailer would have cost. CoH on IMax. Mmmm.)
