As long as all my builds didn't get wiped, I'd be fine. Right now I'm mostly earning inf for fun and to kit out the toons that I have coming through the pipeline.
I think there would be a lowering of prices for a little while, but things would come back to where they are now and continue right on plugging. -
Not quite a month ago, I was welcomed to The Billionaire Club. It took quite a bit of time and effort to get there and I was quite pleased with my accomplishment. Well, I was just doing some calculations and was surprised to see that I had accumulated 2 billion in influence.
At first I was like, "Get out of here!" But I looked again and it was true. In less than a month I had doubled 1 Billion influence. I'm sure you'd all like to get some of this action. Well, I'm not sharing today. Sorry.
Now I am just left to contemplate the means by which I will acquire the next two billion. -

champion. costume contests, random giveaways etc.

How ebil would it be to offer 50 Million for the winner of a costume contest and then award it to what I thought was the ugliest costume? /e strokes beard...Hmmmmmmm. -
Tonights AV was Chimera. He took half a dozen tries to get my strategy down, but I finally got him.
In short: Chewed a purple to start and then once DA was stacked twice never looked back. I popped SoW any time my health got too low and went crazy on DA-GC until I got back to a safe HP range. Made sure to focus on keeping DA stacked whenever he had his katana out (I hate getting hit with my own attacks!!!), but when he switched to his bow, I went to town. Harder than Infernal IMO, but was still a fun battle.
Next on the list: Black Swan! -
*sighs* If only I could have kept BU up for the duration of the fight, I might have had a chance. But it still would have been an epic battle. Well, she's out of the way now, and we'll see who Maria throws at me next.

Dom is one of those AV's that give lethal a real hard time do you have the Achilles proc in gamblers you may also need some +damage to get buy her
[/ QUOTE ]
I do have an Achilles proc in GC, but it was still a stalemate the whole fight. I started chewing small reds, but still couldn't get her HP down much at all. I could have tried stocking up on large reds, but I lacked the time and just wanted to get her out of the way. The best part was she couldn't put a dent in me either (She never got me lower than half my HP once in the whole fight) so the only challenge would have been to out-damage her.
I finally just asked a friend with a dark/dark Def to come and debuff her regen so I could take her down. She wasn't soloed so no screenshot for that one.
I'll keep posting as I work through the arc tonight and the rest of this week.
Edit: I was looking through my screenshots and found a good one. I really don't like the way those guys are looking at me....and they work for someone named Dominatrix? *shiver* -
I have mine six-slotted with a Mako's Set.
-
Today I soloed my first AV on my Kat/WP. It took me a few runs to get my strategy down. The first time he got me after the portal and some surrounding demons shot my health down pretty far. The second time I was chewing purples, but the RNG gave him three strait hits to take me out. Third attempt...well..again, the RNG just didn't do anything for me. Final attempt I stopped chewing purples and had stocked up on reds since I didn't know if he'd pop some kind of damage resist when I got his HP low enough. No such thing happened, but the fight was taking forever and I figured I could do it without the insps, but I was getting bored so I popped a bunch of reds to finish him off.
I haven't seen many Kat/WP AV killers though Werner is the classic Kat/Regen AV killer. I mainly wanted to give some evidence that Kat/WP can fight up there with the big boys.
Edit: Working on the Maria Jenkins arc. I couldn't get Dominatrix on my own. Not enough damage -
Now take the profit and multiply it by 10 for a full stack and suddenly you're 170 Million richer. Yeah...the fees are *terrible*!!!!

Just wanted to throw out: Wait till after 2XP Weekend! Nothing wreaks havoc like it outside of the release of AE.
-
I posted on the volatility of respec recipes about a month ago. Their price dropped as low as approx 30 mil a pop and have been hovering around 50-60 mil a piece for the last few weeks. I am banking on them spiking a good deal during 2XP weekend.
I've noticed the supply of a niche or two drying up and the prices going the way of gasoline right now; a little higher each day. It'll be interesting to see how they continue to go. -
Grats on hitting 1 Bil. It's fun looking for new niches with that much in your pocket. Have fun and let's see who can hit 2 Bil first!
-
What about AE? You can get tickets and buy lowbie salvage in whatever area you like and make a kill...I mean help shore up the supply. Oro is great for running merits, but if it's strictly salvage you want, AE is where it's at.

In the meantime, lowball bids will continue to fill.

I've been making hay on uncommons, buying at 9k and selling for RIDICULOUS prices, 100k+.
Patience still works, folks.

QFT!
Making money in WW is a piece of cheesecake and the high prices and instability of the market makes it all the more delicious! I started out (hero-side) simply enough with the tutorial insps and ehnancements. I played through a sewer run to get the inf to list my insps. Once they sold I posted some low bids (12K just in case the Goat was bidding on the same item) and then listed them to sell high (100K). People wanted them bad enough that they paid the high price, but could have just as easily bid 13K to beat me out. From that point on it was just a gradual climb to bigger and better things as well as an increased flow of inf.
Sure, there has been a shift in the market since AE, but it hasn't broken the market. Rather, the opportunities for raking in the inf has been made even easier. For the most part I just play the market, but I could just as easily run AE missions for tickets and then buy the salvage from the ticket vendor.
The AE has made making inf easier than ever. If you happen to notice one of those pieces of salvage that is running low on inventory, all you have to do is cash in some tickets and rake in the profits on the low-supply side of the curve. -
Aaaaaaas yoooooooou wiiiiiiiiish!
Sorry. My grammar alarms were blaring and the chance to quote a movie couldn't be passed up. -
All this talk of mega-bucks PvP IOs is really tempting me to see if I can't pop in and start making some more $$. Hmmmm....
-
Despite my previous 'blunder' with the respec recipes, I finally achieved my first ebil marketeer in the billionaire ranks.
I wish to extend a warm, generous thank you to those who made this occasion possible in both purchasing and making available the goods that contributed to my success. I also want to thank all the contributors to this message board who make this game worth playing.
And finally, I wish to cheer on who are working on their own aspirations, whatever they might be. -

0 for sale, sold overnight?
I'd consider that sale a strong indicator.
Anything with 0 for sale is undervalued, whatever the 'going rate' is....an insight that's earned me vast piles of inf.
[/ QUOTE ]
No doubt you also factored in the gaps between the last 5 sold and the number of outstanding bids. Zero for sale with many bids would indicate that the last 5 may be undersold. On other hand, 0 for sale with 0 outstanding bids means that there is no demand for the item and so the value is probably fine where it is.
And there's your fundamental marketing principle for the day. -
I have what I consider to be a decent Kat/WP build and there are a couple of things that stick out to me with your build as it presently stands.
The first is the cost. Three purple sets and at least three LoTGs is certainly going to cost a fair bit of inf. You've been around for a few years so I'm betting you already know this, but just thought I'd point it out for any lurkers who might be new to scrappers and/or the cost of IOs.
The next issue I see is with your first power choice. For optimal DPS, you'll more than likely want to switch out SotW for GC and put an Achilles: Chance for Res Debuff proc in it. This will give you a nice boost to your damage output and make it so your other powers also hit harder. Using GC every other attack makes sure the proc is active for pretty much the duration of any long-term fight you engage in.
I question your decision to go after the APP powers and neglect the Fighting pool. You'll have some nice offense, sure, but whether you'll be around long enough to use the powers may be questionable if your desire is to go after higher end content. If more challenging content is your desire, you'll want the Tough and Weave.
Depending on how many toggles you have running, especially if you take the fighting pool, you're going to need stamina. If you build right, you should be able to run a chain of DA-GC-GD-GC-SD-GC without any problems.
Anyway, Kat/WP is a fun set to play, these are just the glaring things that you might want to iron out to make the build viable for long-term use. -
I actually use a spreadsheet to keep track of items I am following or when I want to see how profitable an item might be. Sometimes doing the numbers in my head doesn't work so I plug it in and then go on my merry way.
If anybody is interested and knows of a good file hosting site that I can upload it to and post a link, just point me in the right direction and I'd be happy to set it up. -

Well, after about 35 hours i got my purple horse. It came in the form of an Apocolypse: Dam/Rech. Nice one. 35 bidding and 0 for sale atm. Last 5 are between 140-155mill crafted. Options as followsl;
A) Craft and sell.
B) Hold CC for it.
C) Sell to vendor.
D) Sell for 5 million to set a trend. (though unlikely) It'd more than likely just be flipped.
Decisions, decisions....
[/ QUOTE ]
Any option other than C will result in a huge net gain in money for a marketeer.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, but option C will also make sure that *nobody* else is able to make use of it and thus wastes a perfectly good drop. Thus the poor soul who really wants it and has slightly outbid the marketeer will have to continue to wait for somebody else who isn't taking recipes to the vendors just to spite the marketeers.
