Just found it weird, because what you said had nothing to do with what Jupiter said either.

There's so much power difference between builds, it seems quite silly to me to use some arbitrary rules to define what is and isn't considered an accomplishment.
[/ QUOTE ]
I give up on you, you're just not listening. -
Well I was just referring to saying that having a Shivan for a Scrapper is like having Pets for an MM.
-
QR
Although I see your points, I still disagree comparing Shivans to MM pets because the MM class was designed to have those pets alongside them. Your solo build starts with a baseline of Primary Powers, Secondary Powers, Pool Powers and Ancillary/Patron Powers. From there you can upgrade your capabilities using base powers, shivans/nukes, inspirations, etc.
That's just how I see it and is in no way how others perceive it as well. Just stating my opinion.
*be back in another couple hours when work is finished, lol* -
Haha the green particles. I always thought that was counterproductive with my costumes.
-
Just going to respond to both at the same time.

Last time I've seen this debate, many had different opinions. You can stick your fingers in your ears and pretend yours is the only right one. Meanwhile, I'll stick with the dictionary definition of the words unless "no insps / temps" is specifically mentioned.
[/ QUOTE ]
The only point I mentioned it's NOT soloing is with the use of a Temp Shivan or HVAS, you are physically NOT soloing as there are two entities working on the same target. Maybe you should take your own advice as well.

When the scrapper forum refers to AV soloing we tend to carry the underlying message of No Temps/Insps.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wrong!!! I have never seen an underlying message of No Temps/Insps. It is up to the Peason but I'm sorry saying you didn't solo and AV because of Insps is just worng. Now Temps power will make most AVs a joke for a Scrapper.
Edit: Also the no temps/no insps is something I think Werner did to challenge his build now every one thinks that is the rule. It is not a rule it is a challenge.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you've never seen someone say "No temps/insps, of course" then I just don't know what to tell you. Shred Monkey started with using a bunch of reds and maybe a purple, yes Werner took it to the next level and since then we kept that metric. Of course it's still a great accomplishment if you solo with a few insps, but you're not yet on the next level of AV soloing.
So while I agree with you two I'm also pointing out that there are two levels of AV soloing, with insps and then without. When people were referring to the upper 1% of builds or so (completely arbitrary percentage, of course), they were referring to the no temps/insps builds. -

Having a shivan or HVAS means you're not solo'ing, you're duo'ing. Using Temps or Insps, hell, almost anyone can probably solo an AV. -
I for one am only working on my second AV soloing scrapper.
It's really hard to not gut my main, but with the state of the market, I may have to do it. (I wonder if the Glad's Armor is going to hit 2 billion :-p) -

got it. that being said, this really is the funnest character ive ever played. i dont have a 50 yet and this may be it. why doesnt everybody play scrappers?

easymode becomes boring
I love my DM/WP scrapper. But only because DM gives me some tricks. Otherwise a scrapper is just boring after awhile - you cycle through attacks and kill things. Great fun at first, gets old.

Going on 5 years now...still not bored. -
I'd also suggest a USB Flash Drive.
Stores sell them for dirt cheap nowadays and a 4GB one will fit the bill nicely. -

But you have time for 21,211 posts. Pfft.
Why not let the person the post was meant for or a person that would actually fit that senario bring that up if it applies. We don't need a bunch of strawmen running around like chicken little.

Not every second people spend on the forums is time when they could have been on the game itself - some of us have to leave the house on occasion.
I've also been here 3 years and made maybe three friends, one of whom just dropped his sub. Playing at night (like say 3 AM) and suffering from altoholism spread across three servers I rarely get a chance to see the same faces day after day. I don't mind as I like to solo sometimes.
And your last sentence really doesn't seem to make sense.

This isn't just to you but to the whole string that this started from.
Introducing new players to the global channels on their server is never a bad thing if they are complaining about not being able to find teams.
The people you meet locally on your teams could oftentimes be found globally in those channels, the introduction of global friends many years back was a very important one. There's really no excuse to not find people on your server regardless of time. I play on Triumph and there are definitely the regulars that are on at various times every day as well as many many more.
tl;dr version:
Stop making excuses about not finding people to play with and join your server's global channels. -
The extra % defense from SR really makes a big difference in being able to softcap, monetarily speaking. Somewhere in the magnitude of hundreds of millions to even a billion influence of a difference.

They would not touch a thread like this with a ten foot pole.

I think he was talking about emails :-p -
In one day I ran a citadel, katie, manticore, numina, sara moore and positron to top it off.
This was all after work, of course. -
Not as much drama as before, I haven't seen a single person get silenced in a while.
Besides JakII....haha. -
I have to say, this is easily becoming my favorite scrapper combo.
Talk about having it all? The ability to heal yourself, +HP, two shot minions/lieuts with Soul Drain => Shield Charge, smother bosses with the ST attack chain AND an awesome recovery tool? Oh I'm in love.
Granted, where mine stands he's currently a little more squishy than my Kat/WP, but that'll be changing as I transition him over to his AV soloing/soft-capped build.
I have to say though, after taking Grant Cover, I have no gripe against it and actually enjoy running the power. I've currently got it slotted with a endurance/def debuff HO and a serendipity def/end, and the debuff resistance it offers is well worth the minor endurance cost. Also, I like to see the little blue shield on my other close range teammates as well.
This is definitely the most expensive and tight build I've ever run, but it's just so amazing :-) -
Knockback hurts my DM/SD's feelings, especially when it's right before I hit soul drain.
So much +damage and damage dealt, gone away with the wind (and enemies) -
Back in old pvp if a scrapper killed a brute or a vice versa, that means they were doing it wrong.
Nowadays? I dunno, haven't gone in besides for farming lately. -
Not sure how much mileage you'll be getting out of the two status resist and kb resist IO's in HPT. You might be better off slotting more numi's and the other steadfast prot with either another heal or resist IO instead. Maxing the +hp would probably be what I go for.
(I'm at work so I can't look at your build specifically, but that's what i eyeballed from it) -
The last niche I ran with net me about 500 mil in 4 days....then I let others know when I was done and immediately disappeared.
Time to get back into the money making business, it's time to trick out a new toon :-p -
I used to run out of endurance, then I turned off sprint.
-
QR. 2 points.
1. I think this is one of those rare occasions Umbral and I totally agree on something (with regards to why more scrappers than brutes).
2. Oh any ITF I've been on the team always considers the brute to be the tank, if there isn't a tank of course. I'm completely fine with this when I'm on my scrapper for one reason: No responsibility. I'll just go rip other groups to shreds while the "Tank" is doing his job :-p
