Quote:Holy cow! I thought my cat was big! Unless your keyboard is tiny, that's a good looking giant cuddler you got, Kai!I have since changed desks and location in the house, but the sentiment is still there, the empty space for the trackball is obviously there for the cat to sit in
Why does it look like s/he's glaring at your chair's general direction. You better do what s/he says. -
Laptops are nice and warm.
Rub some bacon on your other cheek. Not for your afk kitty. Just to amuse me. -
This one's a Dirty Doorsitter! Apparently, he thinks the laptop is first and foremost - a lap. He's reading this as I type it. I think he can read, he just huffed.
It's maintenance downtime and there's nothing to do right now. -
Welcome back, FalloutGirl!
The devs have since implemented a feature for channel moderators which automatically removes inactive globals. Unless it's broken, there should be fresh openings on a regular basis. Ok, so I have no idea what their idea of regular is but I'm assuming it's per account and not a collective harvesting every full moon. This gives folks a fair shot once a day.
There's other public channels to join if you just need a fraction of VU's sheoplesources. Yeah, I just made that word up.
*Flowchart*
VirtueUnited - Raids, teams, tf's, advice on builds, dicussion on game announcements
l
V
-> VirtueBadges09 - Badge teams, badge advice, tf's because they give dirty badges
<- Virtue TFs 2010 - Tf teams
-> Virtue LFG Alpha - teams, tf's, raids, badges.. ok so that's what I use it for. I use it as Looking For Group to do anything and everything needed at the moment.
*I'd ask each channel moderator what their rules are. Some allow occasional chitchat, some allow neverending banter but have specific rules on individual spam and/or hot topics. Some don't allow any social chat outside of their channel function to keep the focus on teams. The flowchart above is how my brain understands the order of the Virtue globalverse. -
Welcome to Virtue! Definitely a place for badgers. I have a rabid group working on Cathedral of Pain tomorrow and making plans for a badge-hunting night weekly after we switch sides. Pm me sometime, we can keep you company.
--------------------
Edit
All you badgers coming to Virtue:
- join public channel "Virtuebadgers09". There are 1,900 + members now. It caps at 2,500 so there's still room if you are looking for a good channel. Not dead at all, 217 folks on now.
- keep your Villain Event Zone messages and Hero Event Zone messages channel on each alt, even if it's not your badge alt. Easy to switch alts quickly and grab a team
- list yourself on City Info Tracker and/or Badge-hunter.com. It's the best way to see who is actively badging and create teams for others who are also missing the same badges. -
Has this been a while or fairly recent? Hoping it's not permanent. I don't keep up with things so much until I need them.. love that site for badge tracking.
-
I made an elec/storm controller for fun.
Storm is awkward. I'm using Gale to tick off my level pact partner until she rerolls.
<coughs> He. Our team leader fell in love with Nimmy and thought he was a she.. hahaha. Oh Nim. Way to go. -
LOG IN. I think the hamster just pooped a sparkle pony early...
-
**TODAY!** < lil excited edit.
----
I'm starting with easy peasy mac 'n cheezy casserole minis that can microwave quickly for lunchcakes and dinner.
Then I'm making a badass kinetichick scrapper with Geordi La Forge glasses.
Might even have a few minutes to make my bed.

Thank you Avatea & NC. I don't know what was more fun, defending City Hall (from the dome and inside!) or chasing them down stagger-spawned avenues in Founders. -

Been itching to roll something new, something morally malleable for Going Rogue. I'm taking her out for a spin as a Praetorian elec/rad controller.

Quote:Short answer: "L0L, noes" and welcome back.I left the game before or right after issue 6. I came back a couple months ago.
...
Does anyone else feel like they've flooded the game with badges, just to give level 50 players something to do?
Long answer: We're coming up on issue 18 - that's a huge gap in time. There's many things I enjoy including badging. Had we not had that many badges, I might have been posting "Does anyone else feel like they neglect the badge community..."
Honestly sounds to me like you're through with the badging aspect of the game and that's ok. Depending on what attracted you to badging to begin with (explorer versus achiever, etc), perhaps you can salvage that joy and spend time on a specific type of badge. Or.. if your interest was "having it all" then pace yourself as some have done these last few years. Ultra mode (and specifically the water graphics update) is a good excuse to fly around, soak in 'teh pretty' and all of the exploration badges: all in one day, or one zone a day, or one zone a week. After that, run teams in Ouros. Don't think about the badges, enjoy the company and level experience. Along the way, you'll rack up badges before you know it.
It's what you do with your experience. -
Elizabeth has beautiful kitchens as well. If you haven't joined yet, there's a great global channel: BaseBuildersInc. Cross server.
<steals DH's base> Muahahahaha. <leaves a lil tissue to dry your tears tomorrow> -
Quote:I got to see Demon Hunter's bases today.. holy ****! They're stunning. I wish there was a way for you all to jump into that screenshot and meander through the rest of the base.. bases. You're welcome, and thank you for the compliment. I've done kitchens like that for a few of my bases now.
Ok.. I'm done with my outburst now. <end scene> -
Quote:Clicking an internal door would be a new instance, no? Two, ten, ten and twenty unique members would not matter... I think. They could set permissions individually to allow or restrict other SGmates entry into their private quarters. Its a neat idea... but then the shear size of some SG's makes this become a very large load time, no?
Quote:Then go to the longer lists of personal bases while already IN your base, instead of getting into your base... follow?
...
I realize this my be a pipe dream but gosh, I'd love to see something like this because I think it lends to community building as much as base building. Still exchanging base tours and the majority have been single player bases - folks who want edit rights and can't find it easily in larger groups. -
Quote:<stares at post> <thinks about post> <prints post> <sticks post to fridge> <gets a lil teary> You know what's nice about birthdays? It's always a chance for one more year with all of you.Oh fine. I fold.
After being told off by a certain person here who's name rhymes with Tegan I shall leave...
This cake.
*Leaves a badly drawn picture of a cake and some crumbs*
Thank you. -
Happy Birthday to the best little catgirl in Virtue!
-
Hot dog . I got a birthday baby! <3
-
Thank you, peeps.
....
Man, I feel shy all of a sudden. I got mah own thread. \o/ < That's an 'arms up in celebration' emote, by the way.. not two limbless stickfigures fighting over an eggo waffle. -
Quote:Everyone always comes back. So, are you sticking around and making a new PVP group? I never know where to send folks when they ask about PVP -SG's-. Right now, I just direct them to the VPvP global channel. It's public. I can't send new folks to /Arena chat... all they get as an answer is "I wrecKKed y'MOMz, son!!!! =M_M="Don't really know anything about Sharp. The only one I have kept in touch with is Soviet Missile.
I *already* have negative rep. Haha. What the crap is rep anyway?
Wait. Was that you the other day?!
Anyway. I think Elated is back. Shadowcat is back. Syn is back. It's a whole new / same 'ole world since diminished returns.
Oh and: Welcome back, Porch. -
Quote:Even easier. I have 300 + sets on Virtue at my disposal. Tempting to turn them all in right now just to set the world on fire. I'd commandeer every major server channel. Four computers in this office.. account after account churning out new alts. But.. Going Rogue is coming. Sure my SG wouldn't appreciate my need to watch the world burn this fine summer night when they have a slew of new alts planned for the release of Going Rogue.Minor problem: KHTF/Cap SF triggers the Zombie Apocalypse, not the Supernatural Banner Event.
The banner's trigger is, as far as I can tell, only triggered by costume salvage redemption or the full Halloween Event.
I guess this will have to wait until August. -
If it's definitely triggered by KHTF, why not create a player-organized event for fun on your server? Pick a side, set a date and time (heroes, this Flarnday at Tith o'clock PM Ethereal ST). Sign up teams of 8 on forums.
If it's definitely triggered by KHTF, have those teams coordinate by a global channel - either make a temporary global channel or (better yet) have the team leaders all join an existing public global badge channel to not only talk with each other but also generate more on the spot interest. Each team can begin Katie 30-45 minutes (depending on whether they agree to run the speed version) before the announced event time and -not complete- until all teams are at the last mission with a flyer ready to free her. Say team 1 completes and it spawns the event redside (you wanted blue), then have team 2 complete.. then 3. Your folks will already be on teams of 8 and can easily ouros portal/tram or base to the first hero spawned zone.
Redside. Minor adjustments. Same as above but have folks park their villains at Cap au Ferry to the higher level zones. Teams are still preassembled in that everyone has to switch and global their team leaders for quick invites. You'd all log in at the same spot to launch from. Every zone is quickly accessible from Cap: remain in Cap, prepare to use the ferry to jaunt to Shark/Nerva/St M/GV, hump it to the PO ferry or use the black copter to Mercy.
I used to think year-round invasions were a terrible idea. And yes, I've done it running a team of 8. To be fair, each time was on my rad corr. I still thought it was a terrible idea because (selfishly - ) it has interrupted more speed Numinas than I can count. But, I think about it this way... if it was only spawned in October, then we we'd wait all year and still not guarantee a win (I've been in on full zones that failed). This gives us the freedom and resources to make things happen. -
Ah poop nuggets, my stormy is a Mastermind. Let me know if you ever run in RWZ. Else, I'll find my way to you all after GR.
Wondering if a bubbler who leaves her force bubble toggled on the entire time would be too chaotic. I gots a bubbler.
