I would take CJ 10 out of 10 times on a /regen versus PP. For /regen, I want more recharge and defense as the top priorities. More regen and end recovery are way down on the list.
-
Outside of /wp's lack of redraw, I like /sr and /elec for the recharge boost they offer. AV combo is really the one to focus on.
-
/regen will be the most counterproductive secondary when it comes to your DPS. People ding level 50 on /regen all the time. [/thread]

Quote:The only thing that would warrant a new engine is CoH 2.Aren't NCsoft getting a new engine anyway? I'm sure I read somewhere they were. Something to do with needing a better one for some of the things they want to implement in this awesome game. To be honest I thought a new engine was coming along with Ultra Mode.
-
Safe to assume Vines gets more slotting during the final levels? Because as is it's a wasted pick.
-
Claws has fast enough weapon redraw animations that it's hardly worth talking about. If I die, it's due more to my stupidity versus the weapon redraw.

Quote:You can swap in recall at 49 in my build.Schismatrix, is there anyway we could incorperate recall friend into your build without hurting it too much? and also, taking a look at that build, I like the idea everyone is putting forth about blackstar, combo-ed with dark consumption, but this build looks tight, im trying to find ways to incorperate recall friend and blackstar...lol

Quote:(head desk)I do want this to be a primary healing class, damage if and only if there happens to be a force field toon or multiple defenders.
Seriously, it's ok to attack. You don't need to spam the aura and heal people when they are over 80% health. Hell, I think I start to take notice if it's at 50% and that's depending on the AT. -
Defenders
Cold, Dark, or Rad with /sonic, or /ice. Storm is a good choice as well, but Dark and Rad certainly to me are the easier picks. Cold is going to develop slow in terms of soloing.
Scrappers
Claws, DB, or Kat with /sr, or /elec. Maybe my three favorite primaries and /sr is great since none of the primaries can use /shield. /wp isn't a bad 3rd. From a popularity stand point, many more people will recommend /wp over /elec. Meh. DA from Kat helps cover /elec and LF from /elec adds to Claws and DB's AoE. Their "Build Up" type powers help pump out more damage from LF compared to sets that have the standard type of Build Up powers.
Controller
Ill/rad. Mine currently solos on +4 at level 37. End recovery will be important at that difficulty setting, and certainly if you don't have vet attacks to further help with damage output.
Fire/rad. 2nd best all-purpose controller for a reason.
Tanks
Dark/stone. OG + Fault is awesome. End heavy, but Fault helps cut down on the need to use DG and that's the biggest end drain for Dark.
Ice with /stone, or /fire. /stone brings Fault and Ice can help with /stone's end cost. /fire makes you a huge aggro magnet.
Blasters
Ice/mm. More AoE than the Ice/ice and still has a credible amount of control. My level 32 Ice/ice solos rather well, so I'm pumped about getting my Ice/mm up there as well.
RE: ST vs. AoE
There's something about taking out things at +4 diff setting and there's something about doing things at x8. I can't say what you will like better. If you can pull off the AoE, the larger mob size will be a bigger benefit for exp. -

Quote:It runs two of them. If you are making a solo build, and the poster doesn't seem to be, then Stamina is a much bigger need.EDIT: I see Amy beat me to it. She's got a decent build but there are a few things I would disagree with (and no doubt she will say the same about my build). The primary one is the lack of stamina. Stamina isn't essential but trying to run all three leadership toggles without it will really, really suck.
EDIT: Dark Consumption is in the build as well. -
Since we can switch sides in GR, can we go back to the old origin graphics that were used in the character listing screens? Pretty please?
-
Not perfect, but closer to what people would consider a basic Emp/dark.
EDIT. Reread what the OP said and took out my previous edit.

Technically speaking the damage cap for a scrapper is 500% which you aren't getting by yourself. I fully assume you really didn't mean the actual damage cap though.
-
/storm > /pain for soloing.
-
Which pretty much mean the following advice comes across as rather hollow considering how bad it is. You pretty much need to slot up AA to get much AoE damage going via the confuse and damage procs and running it before Stamina is rather tricky. The pet doesn't come until 32. Sleet doesn't come until 35. There's reasons why Ice is one of, if not the worst controller to solo.
-
I would go with Quills before Stamina and then add in LF later unless you really want to manage toggles and likely put off Stamina until later because /elec, IMO, takes a high number of powers(4) before Stamina without adding in LF.
-
Quote:You don't lose "all of the set bonuses." You can take two slots from Detention Field and add them in. Your numbers are also based on level 50 slotting, which a lot of people don't do even though I admit a number of them do. If you got the influ to burn to slot them, then I guess knock yourself out.Having taken your advice and 3 slotted my bubbles for defense, I have gained only a paltry .3% defense in Dispersion Bubble, .4% defense in Deflection and Insulation Shield, and have lost all of the set bonuses. It does not seem worth the loss. Why do you suggest this?
It was my error in not seeing LotG not adding in some defense as well. The planner really should show that in the text versions. -

Quote:Pros for /elecI've been looking at making a spines scrapper for awhile, now my other question is: /regen or /elec?
I like the sound of /elec, but what are the pros and cons of going with this set/ going with /regen.
- Damage aura.
- End management tools.
- High resist.
Cons for /elec
- not one of the "uber" end game sets.
- Decent, but not amazing "oh crap" button in Energize.
Pros for /regen
- End management tool, and early.
- Has a number of powers to deal with "oh crap" situations.
- Ideal for PvP.
Cons for /regen
- Gets into the most "oh crap" situations.
- Can be a clicky set. -
I'm waiting for brutes to come blue side and roll SS/shield. I haven't done either and I've got 3 50s and working on a Fire/kin willing to help fund it.
-
Your bubbles are under slotted. They should be 3 slotted for def and not 1.5. PFF only needs 1 def slotting. I really can't imagine why you need to 3 slot Detention Field for recharge unless you are doing PvP and it needs acc regardless.

Quote:Giving players options on what pools to not drop would be too confusing for the masses. Getting rid of common IO recipes should be doable.I'd rather have a function that auto-deletes certain types of recipes or salvage once it drops for you; this would save me the hassle of having to delete loot that isn't worth the effort of carrying to the vendor. I'd turn off everything except purples and rare Pool As.
