I still think it's a cop out to say that any fictional tech should be considered magic. If the writers wanted it to be magic, they would call it magic. Lightsabers, warp drive, and Iron Mans armor would be magic only if they called it magic. Clearly the writers of these stories intended them to be a form of advanced tech. Galactus is said to have god-like power, but has never been written as a god of anything. Most superhero comics have a clear differentiation between magic, science, and technology. The three may converge powerwise, but it is still the same effect caused in three different ways.

I think it seems magic is such a dominating force in our universe, because it seems to require the most effort to utilize. Every other origin, Science, Tech, Mutation, and even Natural have some form of catalyst to being super, but magic needs you to want to be powerful with just your own will power. I think because of this will power, it taps directly into the conduits between humanity and it's Well. It's the hardest Origin to master, but you get closer to the source when you do.

We still don't have stretching, shrinking, or growing. Theses are some basics of comicdom.

Quote:We really don't have any "liquid" effects that are not part of the environment.I would love to see dark auras... you know... like the black ichor oozing from a dark crupper's feet or seeping from joints and tumbling to the floor
there's a problem with the dark stuff in terms or costume parts and effects; if there's any transparency then dark makes it close to invisible. Black makes most effects near transparent.
What we need is a transparency slider for effects that are important - so that we can set their level as desired. -
A new AT? People are being cheap if they think anything under 1200 is fair.

Ya know what I think? I think Prommy is keeping a secret. I think the incident that lead to Prometheus being chained to a mountain has something to Prometheus starting mankind once again on a path toward the Well. I think Zeus and the rest of the pantheons of the era got tired of the cycle of war and destruction among those of power. I think they got together and decided to hide away all access to the Well by mortal man. Prometheus didn't want the party to end, but now that it looks like the Battalion is coming to stop everything, he has no choice but to back humanity or fall with them.

I don't mind there being more power to achieve. The Devs simply need to remember scale. Hit-points do not an Incarnate make, although having my Defender take out two elite bosses is somewhat gratifying.

Could make the tier 9 a bear with a reskin, but would be nicer if he couls stand up.

There is no "fix-all" solution until the narratives of team vs. solo play are addressed. Just adjusting the level-slider to make bosses harder, or dropping more of them into missions is basically what we have. We play, "Wade through the minions and dog-pile on the end-boss, rinse-and-repeat". The problem now is that Incarnates are making that scenario less challenging, so now unless you are planning on dropping giant monsters into missions, Boss-EB-AV fights need to be smarter.

"If I were to get any costume set it would be a Japanese anime-style mecha suit, that sort of angled, venty, armor that was big in the 1980’s and 90’s."
Oh Posi you tease! -
Four words: Cloths Explode Costume Change!

Look just because you can create a "Mutated alien in a high-tech, magic -powered battle armor", doesn't mean that origins don't matter, it's jut that the game lets you create across those boundaries.

I think my biggest gripe with the dialog is that is isn't personalized enough to each character. It would be nice if they acknowledged not just my name, but my powers, my size, and my gender.

Quote:If Stark's mind gave him his super abilities, I would agree, but the tech is the necessary step to make him "super". Without the tech, he's just really smart.Still, you have to go the other way, too. Is anyone 'tech' at all? I've never read or seen a story with someone who was 100% tech. Tony Stark for example INVENTED his suit and won his battles just as much with quick thinking and understanding of what was going on. Note that the other guy with military backing in the better armed and armored suit is his side kick.

Quote:So did Billy's guns give him his skill? Did the bow give Robin Hood his accuracy? Then they are both natural. So in your world, only people who punch things in the face are natural?
Robin Hood used a bow, he's tech? Musashi used a sword, he's tech? Batman uses gadgets, he's tech?
That's a sad world to live in where people whose immense skill with an item (or multiple items) renders them "not natural". -
I think the idea was that if you go far enough back toward to origins, that there is no distinguishable difference between science and magic.

Quote:No, I think you read it right. Right Devs? That's 100% on the head!If I'm reading you correctly, other than the epic fight, you're wanting to have a story where the Phalanx falls apart in the aftermath, then Posi reforms it, bringing in lots of new people in a 'new' Phalanx?
Sounds kind of like going from Freedom Phalanx to Freedom Phalanx: Unlimited... where our characters can actually be in the Freedom Phalanx and maybe have the heroes get Patron Pools from the 'elder members' (the original Freedom Phalax) with special story arcs involving them and bringing us deeper into the lore?
If that's what you're saying, I'm all in!! Though I may have misread -
Welcome to the JUNGLE!

Let's be honest, between trying to be a walking Swiss Army Knife. Batman is very lucky. Tactics and skill will only take you so far, but Batman is at thepoint where he is a little too nonchalant about going against being that could kill him with a glance. No I personally like the Punisher's attitude toward super beings, in that they change the entire narrative of the battlefield. The Punisher verses the Sentry involved the Punisher running for his life. This should be every encounter Batman has with any villain that can stand up to Superman.

Who is an Incarnate as well.
