On what basis?

Pillow-talk. Nudge, nudge. Wink, wink. -
Your bob on Praf. Is there another AT that can do as much damage as a Ill/Kin Controller at level 4 with a combination of Siphon Power, Containment & Spectral Wounds?
I like the idea of enabling the Domination bar to recharge whilst you are "Dominating" as least you would be getting the buff on a more frequent basis. -
I would get Darkest Night as soon as possible it is the best power in the DM set. I also agree with Max in that I prefer BoF to RoF and would choose that in preference.
-
You can understand why Dom damage is pegged where it is. I'm sure that someone compared them to Controllers and drew the conclusion that a weakened primary but more offensive secondary would be a good balance.
However, Controllers then got Containment and became uber killing machines which meant they could out - control and out - damage a Dom something I am sure that was never intended to be the case.
I agree with Filths point that a general upping of damage would be a good move as would increasing the duration and the buffs of "Domination". It would also be nice to see the "Domination" bar go up while you are actually "Dominant" reducing the down time between buffs. -
The answer to the mysterious MM buff can be found here
-
Id deffo swap Dull Pain and TI. TI will be much more useful early on.

I just rolled a Plants/Fire dom and spend a lot of time soloing. How do you think I'll get on?
-
Hello Max,
I'd love to get involved. Just started playing CoV again after a break and have a number of lwoer level toons Im levelling up.
Do you have a policy on max number of characters per player in the SG? -
Agree entirely about Touch of Fear, what a great power. I'm only on TO's at the mo but the effect duration seems good and Fear is still an unusual attack type to see in game.
Normally I can ToF the primary threat, defeat the mobs and then focus on the boss.
As for Max's points on the -Recharge from Granite my thinking was that first off I would have Hasten to lessen the effects but I could have a nice attack chain of - Brawl, SP, Smite, SM, etc.
I was planning to use the long animation time of SM to let my other powers recharge, turning a negative into a positive. If I still have gaps in my chain I could always throw in ToF.
The other upside of this is that SM seems a very endurance effective attack because you appear to recover end during the animation. -
Cheers Filth.
Im really looking at synergies between the sets. I would really like to know how your getting on with EA as well.
I suppose the real crux is whether the Acc debuff from DM is sufficent to really increase your survivability in Stone until Granite.
The reason for TP Foe was thinking to Rooted and Granite and the slooowwww penalities of them both. I think that TP Foe does cycle a bit slowly for my liking to use all the time so I envisage using it to catch runners from mobs. -
Not a build plan, more a concept.
Started a DM-Stoner last night and would appreciate observations and advice on these powersets and the synergy between the two.
Reasons for this choice was:
1. Acc debuff from Dark will compliment the Def of Rock Armour and eventually Granite.
2. Wanted to get Touch of Fear. Plan to use a strategy based on running Rooted in combat so fancied an attack chain of TP Foe, Touch of Fear, SP, Smite, SM rinse and repeat.
3. DM includes a self buff to Acc and Dam (can't remember the name) which may go some way to offset the -damage of Granite(?)
4. The DoT component of DM attacks SM and the last one might not be such a minus if my other attacks will suffer a -recharge in Granite.
Sound thinking or waste of time? Comments please. -
Im sure that Cryptic will try and introduce it with the minimum amount of work involved so I'm sure you'll see lots of rehashed existing powers with altered values.
Don't expect anything too original. -
I'm experimenting with a EM/Invul build and plan a EM/EA brute to. My reasoning for EM/Invul is that in PvP it will still be the most common damage type although the major problem will be that Invulnerability will be pretty useless.
As for EA I like the idea of running through Artic Air or Hurricane and pounding on those smug defenders and controllers.
One question on Dark; the defence is well rounded but is it not too weak on the S&L front? How would you fare against a broadsword scrapper for example? Does the PSI resist outwiegh the lack of S&L? -
I loved my Fire/Fire mainly because I could solo at a reasonable speed and my AoE's and Burn made me feel I was contributing when in a group.
Not as tough as Stone or Invul. sure but great fun. Fighting CoT was always a seat of the pants experience. Unfortunately a lot has changed since then. -
Why be so reluctant to get Stamina? I can think of four good reasons to go that route;
1. It opens up the fitness pool which is great throughout.
2. You'll be getting Health as a pre-cursor which in itself is a very useful power for a brute.
3. I think you'll still have End issues with Dark/Fire without it.
4. Consume and Siphon Life will need a boat load of slots in to be as reliable as you will need them to be. -
Got to agree here. Barrage is great for Fury generation (Im Invul.) and recharges much quicker than Brawl.
I have also found Whirling Hands a bit underwhelming but it looks good and is the only AoE I can get. -
Good spot.
I think its a good idea. Taunt that early in most peoples build is a waste and a third attack would be of great benefit.
On the "issue" of the word "Scranker" its obviously typical forum handbags but I would suggest deleting the word and replacing it with "Brutish".
i.e. "These changes make the tank more brutish "
Which I think is the way the AT is going since ED.
Glad to also see that they're improving game stability again. All the previous improvements have been of great benefit. -
I've just rolled a Ice/Nrg Tank as well. Has Frosty got any tips for me?
-
I picked up Haymaker at lvl 2 and have slotted Brawl and Jab with recharges so I can build Fury pretty effectively.
I look at Haymaker as my Lt killer and KO'Blow as my Boss killer.
There was a post on the US forums that suggested that KO'Blow was the most effective attack in terms of damage to Endurance cost and that it's damage exceeded Brawl, Jab, Punch and Haymaker combined!
Slot up KO'Blow 2x Acc 2x Recharge and 2x End Redux and see how you get on! -
QR only has one DO in at the mo. Was planning to put a slot in QR and in Integration (for additonal Health enhancer) at 17, get either Quills or Dull Pain at 18 and then put third slots into QR and Integration at 19 then Stamina at 20.
I'm not finding much room for manouver in my Spines/Regen build all the powers seem soooo good. I doubt I'll be getting a travel power until 26-28. -
I generally always take the fitness pool if I'm playing a Tank or Scrapper. Health will certainly make a contribution to increasing your regen rates (which is the name of the game surely?) and Stamina I'm sure will be of great help.
I recently got Integration at 16 (with only a single DO Health enhancer at the mo) and it is a big end-drain. As a Spines scrapper I also want to run Quills which is again another big end user. I will definately be three slotting Quick Recovery and Stamina and will probably be putting end redux'ers in Integration. -
Jack, I'm building a Spines/Regen too. Did you find that you picked up travel powers relatively late in your build? I have found the flexability in the build quiet limited. For example; I'm nearly 16 so I want Integration, 18 will be Quills, 20 will be Stamina and 22 might be going back for Dull Pain or another attack if one is unlocked then. If so I might be a pedestrian until lvl 26 or 28!

This isn't directed at you Zeus, I'm just following the thread.
I was everyone would stop whinging on about Stalkers. They are not over-powered, they are over-specialised. They do one one thing well. Deliver an Assasins Strike. Without that the AT is nothing.
Stalkers and MM's are the only original things to come out of CoV and should be applauded for adding to the games content.
If you want all of the AT's to be the same you really should be playing "The Sims".
PS. And no I am not a Stalker or MM apologist - I don't play either because although they're new I find MM's boring and Stalkers, as I said over-specialised. -
I've got a Dark/SS brute. The only problem I found was that Rage becomes available at the same time as Dark Regeneration. How I wished I picked DR!
However you are a brute and if you are in search of max-smashage then Rage is great.
