Well, pretty much. The best synergy for pets is to build on what's there to begin with. Time just "always works" because with power boost you can make it practically softcap you so it doesn't matter what's there.
Though I'm far from an expert, I couldn't tell you what each pet set gets innately. -
You mean everyone doesn't go by post-count? :O
-
From what I've been hearing, you can stick it in either. Panacaea will work in both the way you want it to. Though apparently since life giving spores is a toggle it can proc on you without having to be in the pet's affected field.

Yeah there's a number of tips that feature him.
A 20-29 hero tip sees him trying to throw a party, you trash it and take him back to the zig (assisting an as yet Heroic Dr. Quantum).
I -believe- the 20-29 Rogue Morality missions sees him trying to cut a deal to earn some cash so he can start turning to good, with the Rogue player character outdoing him.
I forget what the 30-39 brings. At least nothing jumps to mind with Hero and Villain tips.
40-50 sees him working alongside Longbow (helping you defend a Longbow base against a Malta attack) and helping you defeat a Nemesis Automaton of the Player alongside Miss Thystle.
You see it with a number of characters in Tips actually. Like Doc Quantum in the 20-29 range is still a hero, by 30-39 he's turned vigilante. Silent Blade begins as a villain and turns rogue. Desdemona starts as a villain, goes rogue and goes all the way to be a hero. Miss Thystle does similarly.
Really I like the tip missions for how they flesh out the world and a number of C-list characters. I hope we get some more eventually -
Yah Barrier Destiny is wonderful solo, it's a short time T9 armor basically, so I like to punch it and jump into the frey and tear things up.
-
As I recall, stuff like Assault is -supposed- to work for pets but currently does not. So Support is the only one you can turn on and have affect them atm. I could be wrong though
-
Yeah there wasn't any new trial this issue because the Praetorian storyline is pretty much wrapping up this coming issue. There'll probably be a new iTrial in i25

Honestly Alpha is the one most tied to direct performance boost depending on which one you choose. if you feel you suck a lot of blue then yeah, cardiac isn't a bad idea.
Judgment is pretty much your preference. Void is the only PBAoE, Ice is a cone, lightning is a Targeted Aoe that can chain jump, fire is a straight up Targeted AoE, and Vorpal is a self targeted cone. The damage is all huge and they each have their own specific benefits you can aim for (like void has -dmg or knockback, fire can have a DoT component etc) but they're not so different there's any -one- solid choice. Basically, pick from concept. They're all good, strong nukes.
Interface is similar. It's a nice lil boost but nothing that's key, you're not going to really notice a HUGE boost in performance picking one over the other. Reactive isn't bad because more -Res is always nice, though since it is the most common it means in big groups it stacks up fast and since any given interface can only stack on any enemy 5 times, well, if you have 20 people with it you're letting a LOT of it go to waste. Solo, not an issue.
Spectral is ok though. I've got it on my ill/rad and it's not bad though I don't really notice the immob being -that- effective. So if you were thinking of going for it to set up containment... eh, I haven't had a ton of success.
Destiny and Lore are, likewise, all pretty good. Actually if you want to take a different Alpha you can instead take the Ageless Destiny for boosting your endurance and recovery. Personally I went with barrier for the nice super defense/resistance. But they're all good basically.
Lore is the same. Unless you have something super specific you're interested in, like lots of -Regen or the like, pick what fits your concept the closest, they all hit like trucks and after i24 hits they'll all be relatively balanced with each other (like right now Cimerorans are the -best- for single target damage, by a wide margin, and seers are pretty low on the damage poll. everyone else is about in the middle properly).
Hybrid, if and when you get around to it, just go by whatever you think is going to benefit you the most. It's not super in any particular regard so you can't really 'go wrong'. Nothing else go for Assault for more damage. -
As a note, Cimerora opens up for heroes at 35 but there's just the lore mini-arc to do until 40 when you can do the 2 story arcs. (However, it's -well worth- doing the Aquila arc just because for as short as it is it still rewards an arc completion bonus)
You can also go to Atlas Park and talk to the City Representative to receive your Aura unlock mission and talk to the tailor in Independence Port for your next costume slot unlock.
Outside of that though there's not really much to do in the 30 range. 30-35 is kind of awful because there's so little to do that lasts a while. As others here said, Night Ward adds some stuff but it's honestly pretty short and probably won't take you to 35 on its own if you're running basic settings. Most of the interesting stuff doesn't open up until 35 and even that stuff won't push you to 40 by itself. -
Just idly curious. We always talk so much about the TFs we hate and want revamped (or the lack of TFs, depending on the side).
So, what's your favorite? Why? What does it do -right-? Heck if you want pick a blueside and a redside one for those inclined to play both sides.
For me? Mine are probably Imperious, Mortimer Kal, and Penny Yin.
Imperious - Is just great for leveling, for one, because of its huge range and -mass- of enemies in so many missions. Yet even with so much to kill it doesn't really feel tedious or like it drags out. Cimerora is, in general, one of the more interesting settings in the game and I -adore- the mission to take Imperious' generals and you make it atop the Vista and see the 5th column base. It's just a big 'wow' moment and really changes up the feel of the story up to that point. And the finale just -screams- epic. Extra nice that it's co-op so I can run it on any character I please
Mortimer Kal- Easily my favorite redside Taskforce, hands down. It takes about an hour, give or take 20 minutes, it's got a fantastic story that just feels perfectly villainous and pits you up against a variety of enemies. My only complaint, and it's small, is with small teams it can become a -very- binary 'win/lose' TF. Running it with the min., you'll find out pretty quick if you can do it or not. But if you've got enough you tend to steam roll it. And the rewards are just the best, I'm a lil sad Blueside has no equivalent. How can you beat a decent lil stat boost that turns into an early Notice? Nicer still when it's the WST and you can score 2 Notices together if you've never run it before (though shame on you if you've got a 50 and you've never run it before).
Penny Yin - SOOOOO much better than Sister Psyche. It's fast, it flows well, the cut scenes are well done and explain everything you need to know so not just the leader has all the tidbits, the missions are quick and actiony, it's just fun. I am never reluctant to do this TF. I honestly could stand it to be like 1 mission longer but compared to the multi-hour slug fest it was under Pscyhe I can tolerate 'too short'. For a longer TF though, you can't beat Posi 1 & 2, which this just edged out I think for my blueside favs.
Ok, so, how bout you guys? -
That's pretty much the crux of it. In a market with so many hybrid and F2P options people aren't moving from one game to another they tend to keep a subscription and just play others as free/premium/etc. There's pretty much never going to be a 'mass migration' like the days of old when everything was subscription based.
-
Yeah pretty much, but like I said, no one makes a product hoping to be second best. Any new MMO is going to aim for being 'the best', which means knocking the 900 lbs gorilla off his perch. You're right though, if it ever happens it's because WoW just crumples up on its own and not because any particular game strikes lightning like it did.
-
Everyone wants to think they're making the next WoW killer. No one really hopes to go in and be 'Second best' or less.

Quote:Yet you waste it ranting on a discussion board? Valuable indeed.I understand the system, I just don't agree with how it is set up. I subscribed because I liked the game and I wanted to reward the developers. If I unsubscribe because I no longer enjoy the game, why would I continue playing?
I'm sure the concept of playing for free works for some psychologies, but not for me. I have money, I don't mind spending it. My time is much more valuable and I'm much stingier with that. -

I don't feel like a VIP just like fish don't feel wet.

See i've had the opposite experience with beast/time. I've got mine to 35 and I really enjoy it. I dropped in the mastermind and the 2 pet procs for the +10 AoE def, +5 Def and +10 Resist. Combined with Farsight I keep my pets defense up pretty high, even hitting the soft cap when I fire off Fortify Pack (usually for bosses). Especially nice when the lionesses fire off their def roar for +6 defense a piece (which stacks now). Plus the HoT in time they can be hard to kill.
See, to me, one of the nice things about the Beast pets is they're versatile, they've got some decent innate resists and defense so they work with a LOT of different support sets, no matter which set you pick you can stack up either Def or Res on them. -
I'm enjoying my gravity/nature controller thus far but I'm still pretty low level (11 atm) and I've largely taken Gravity powers to get my controls and attacks in. But so far I've noticed the Nature powers have done pretty well for keeping my health at max except when I just overaggro and even then I've been able to pull myself out.

how precisely are we 'force fed' anything? Yes the stuff is added to the game without our consent (not that they'd need it?) but no one is bending your arm to play that content. And it's all free with the subscription, hell, some of it is free -without- it. So this complaint honestly befuddles me.

Quote:The new ATO sets will be released whenever Super Pack 2 (Rogues and Vigilantes) hits the market. They'll be exclusive to the packs for a little while then they'll be available via the merit vendors (reward & astral) as Round 1 ATOs were.I'm watching now, but... I don't have another half hour. Do they ever say when either the new enhancement sets will be in-game, or the Super Pack 2? Is it just i24, or beforehand?
The 4 new enhancements that are just normal enhancements will be available when I24 hits through every conceivable way you can normally receive a recipe (drop, reward merit, alignment merit, etc) -
Actually if I've been reading the notes right, they're -still- locked out of the -specific- powers from the pools but can take other powers in them.
