Ninja/Nature for pet survival?

Hey all

I was wondering what your ideas might be on if nature affinity would help ninjas be more survivable? I really the concept of ninjas, but even though I've tried both ninjas/FF and ninja/time I've eventually dropped the character due to the ninjas being wiped away in large teams and higher difficulties.

But nature affinity seems a bit interesting, we have the new absoption effect and other fun tools.

Do you guys think a ninja/nature would be worth trying?

Nature will not help Ninjas survive better than Time Manipulation or FF.

With your Ninja/Time did you also pick up Mace Mastery and the 5% def proc? The 15% AoE def proc helps immensely as well. My main is a Ninja/Time/Mace and he's nigh invulnerable. He can last longer than most tanks while also outdamaging them and keeping his pets alive through taunts and heals, as well as Power Boosted Farsight.

Nature is a good set, but other than a good amount of -tohit holds no real synergy with Ninjas. It gives a bit of everything and works best with things that start out rather tough, like Demons and Beasts. Due to the -tohit it also holds some synergy with Necro. But the heals are not enough to keep Ninjas alive, and the absorb is on a four minute timer.

This of course makes me wonder if the same holds true for Mercs/Nature, and I'm sadly thinking it might ... that Nature Affinity just doesn't help "poorly protected Pets enough" to overcome their built in survival limitations.

Well, pretty much. The best synergy for pets is to build on what's there to begin with. Time just "always works" because with power boost you can make it practically softcap you so it doesn't matter what's there.

Though I'm far from an expert, I couldn't tell you what each pet set gets innately.

You can never anticipate when a heal will be needed. Your basically patching up the virtual holes in the dam with heals. So your basically playing catch up and you will never be able to heal fast enough or have a heal up when you need it.

End result is the only way to have this any way successful will be to constantly over heal your pets because they vary so much in level.

I also think you need to post a Mids build for these Ninja Time because one forum goer here was using robot time and TPing into melee range against enemies with ranged pets and was successful. I can't image how melee centric pets could not achieve the same results.

But either way regardless a Mids build will always help give people a better idea of what your considering.
