    hint only pick something from the empathy set when forced to . u only need absorb pain,fort and ab .

    max out the mind attacks and fill in with power pool attacks. phase is a must.


    be prepared to die often
  2. best toon is whatever im playing at the time im owning frankensteinsmonster with. pretty much all of my toons and half of my sons. (some of his have six slotted team teleport and stuff like that.)
  3. i heard they nerfed elusivity but increased diminishing returns on tohit so it maxes out at 85% instead of 106%.

    and gave forts and widows both access to pff added to the pool with sharks.

    but i could be lying, or am I?
  4. not to mention when you have an organized spike team that stays in pfff untill their target is in range and then they all spike their target the instant any of them take any damage poof up comes the bubble while they firgure out who was targeting them and the process starts all over.

  6. although i share the sentiment about share pain it is the very most usefull heal in the game as far as pvp is concerned.(wait i don't do villains this is the absorb pain clone correct?) the heal other clone is ok but if i were to only take one it would be absorb pain. heal suppression means you can give 1000+ hit points on the first and 500+ immediately after if needed.

    My fighting emp took only fort, healing aura, absorb pain, and adrenaline boost from the empathy side. I find it very pleasing to see a team mate down to a sliver of health brought back to full health all at once. Especially if he is wrecking the other team while it happens.
  7. doesn't tough now protect against all damage types across the board in pvp now? including psi damage? I might be wrong but thats what i was thinking happened when i still cared.
  8. while some of those ideas about tweaking tohit at expense of damage might work to allow us to hit them more.

    I would be ok if they just adjusted the defense toons where if they are nearly impossible to hit then their other attributes take the hit.

    if a widow hits elude then his tohit and damage should be decreased accordingly. if there is basically no chance of him being killed(which is what i think elude is meant to be) why on earth should he still be able to totally wreck an 8 man team of heroes while in elude? This problem compounds when they only enter battle with elude up.

    Why should a fort have mostly unresisted damage, capped defense with elusivity and full use of heavy hitting ranged attacks and tohit capped as well? same with ice tanks and all the new flavors of the month all with a side of elusivity.

    If they are going to remain at current levels of survivability then a trade off needs to happen somewhere.

    I have to say that high level pvp rv and arena at level 50 is where it is mostly broken, I find that in sirens call things are much much more even. I still miss at least half my attacks on defense based toons but 1 toon does not wreck entire 8 man teams at that level. maybe some one good with numbers could examine that and see if it would be a good example for diminishing returns being tweaked.
  9. I have posted on this very issue several times in many threads. basically if you are not running elusivity you are handicapping yourself. Sure I have had some success with a non defense based toon. As long as i was dictating where and when the battle occurs. 90% of the encounters i get in when elusivity is involved It is me who has to phase shift and run. If I am the one getting targeted I usually die. I do not mind dying in pvp. My main pre issue 13 blaster was a sonic/em and I am used to being killed often.

    What we need is to decide if elusivity and diminishing returns are ok as currently implemented. Lets assume the devs state it is working as intended, then what needs to be looked at is some sort of tradeoff for all that survivability. If we are forced to endure a long drawn out battle to kill them then their damage or accuracy would need to be adjusted accordingly. I am thinking no one would be complaining about a fort or widow, ice tank and super reflexes scrapper/brutes. if they weren't wrecking every toon in the game at will. Their accuracy and tohit are as good and their damage attack chain is superior to most in the game. This in itself should have castle's insides all turned inside out. They are the "Tank Mage" of the game right now.

    Hopefully arcana will be able to finish her study of this in regards to pvp as noted in my sig(from a private message she sent me when i asked her opinion on this subject a while back)

  10. one thing i would like to suggest is to improve the storage capacity of the storage base one could create alts on that server as place holders thereby increasing your starting prestige, each toon u have join the sg boost that prestige.

    my apologies i forgot to include quick reply. Didn't mean for you to think i was trolling you. Only pointing out that arcana invented/coined the term elusivity and what her opinion of it as implemented with pvp diminishing returns.

    The biggest reason why high level salvage is worth less is due to farming producing a lot of common salvage. I find it curious why with tools like Ouro portals and the ability to turn off xp we haven't seen low and mid range salvage farms.

    there are very few mid low level range farms because they will not have a chance to drop a purple recipee. that and the tools necessary to farming arent available at lower levels without alot more work and is definately not as fast. Most i see if dark astoria runs
  14. why not get 10 people doing this and use a fire/kin with fulcrum to kill them all quickly? limiting your self to 2 people makes for a long time to get it done. if your sg is big enough have 20 people online and treat it like a farm map.

    To those upset by the inability to get that badge,(and judging by the number of posts about it seems to be quite alot)

    Imagine if the devs did that to say 60% of your badges. And told you it was not gonna change because you didnt test it enough to get the proper datamining.

    Now that you got that image in your head,,,,,,,,,,,,this is the exact same feeling that all the pvp people felt when I13 was dropped in our laps. Enjoy
  16. the problem is that people are now not just farming the katies and edens, they are farming their own story arcs and oro missions as well.
    Not to mention that people feel the need to play obviously broken task forces like posi just for the merits.
    thus creating more farming. The other draw back is that under the merit system the total number of recipees hitting the market has dropped. Before a steady supply was being made through those speed task forces. The merit system has done absolutely nothing to deter farming. They only changed the door locations of the farms.

    Ok enough of my venting. Here is my solution. Get rid of merits for task forces or make them optional as a choice. Keep merits as a reward for story arcs and even radios for every mission completed(radios = less reward of course).

    Make sure every member of a team get the same reward as the mission owner.

    Make merits account wide or enable them to be transferable.
  17. my problem with this whole thing is that the only way you can acheive pool c and pool d recipees REQUIRE the use of merits.(yes i know you can buy them at wents)

    What i mean is no matter what some one HAS to use merits to create the supply. Thats alot of merits needed to get those recipees. Right now on alot of the new recipees for i13 the pool c and pool d recipees are going for lotg and miracle/numina prices or more. And even if you have the cash there are 0 available. This forces you to solo your own arcs or speed run tf to get those. Castles definition of farming was repeating content solely for the rewards. Obtaining pool c and d recipees now require farming.
  18. My favorite feature added i was the badge changes that now allow me to get all the pvp zone badges in one night.

    i just goto sirens call and stand at the circles in taskforce mode and take a knee with rest and not having to worry about getting killed in the process!

    Very nice. there are no enemies in Rv when i want to go afk farm in there as well. i just park the heavy in the cross roads andgo afk while hovering above a little bit can farm all night tis way.

    1. damage changes. shout should hit harder for what it takes a hit on in animation and activation time. defender should be able to do more damage(not as much as the damage archtypes)


    2.the resists almost make squishies more playable(though an equal boost in hit points across the board would have worked better)

    3. snipes are worth taking now.

    but thats all please see my other post in the other thread and bring your reading glasses and a case of beer.

    Bug Description: Chat not entering what was typed and repeats last message sent.


    When i type or answer a tell 50% of the time what i typed does not actually get sent and is replaced with my previous message. this is in all chat modes and is very aggravating. causing me to retype messages over and over.

    there is also a weird sound that happens when this occurs when i hit the enter key to send the message.

    why is it the fact that some one would want to pool their resources (as we have been able to in the past) supposedly not the way it is supposed to be?

    players have a trade window for a reason. if we werent supposed to be trading items then why do we have a trade window?

    if you want to not trade items between your characters then by all means don't.

    If you want to spend all your time on one character then do so.

    the devs frown on farming. not allowing us to pool our merits causes us to make our best taskforce toon and [censored] it to death to get the recipees. why not allow us to play what we want and still get our goods?

I totally agree with the post about artic air. i only have 2 of the available 3 procs so far and already i love jumping in the middle of the herd and hitting glacier with a/a running and watch the numbers fly. turns artic air into a true aoe damage power. the more minions in the herd the better damage per tick you will see it is amazing. and frost bite keeps them there .

All i can say is that any toon capable of getting artic air needs to slot all 3 proc's in it asap. i find it very helpfull in lorge mobs and one of the 3 are ticking away at them every 10 secs or so across multiple enemies. the numbers just fly across the screen when they all 3 happen to hit. and against even level minions it is very good damage without any extra endurance cost.
