Not bad. Believable concept for something to bring criminals together while being simple enough that anyone can come right in at any time without being overwhelmed. I dig it.
Unfortunately, bikers/outlaws just aren't the type of villain I can commit a character to. I'm more of a costumed villainy fan. But I give your VG a thumbs up. -
We don't have the ability to make dialogue like that, sadly.
-
lol nice. As long as it has more action and less terrible puns I'll be fine with it.

If you're planning on playing Premium then you get to play the game for Free. There's nothing anyone can do to rip you off aside from somehow implanting viruses on your computer.

Quote:Technically, 17.99 because you still have to buy a month's worth of time before you can play, apparently. That free month doesn't count until you've started subscribing. So RMT spammers get full excess to all channels for the low low price of $1.99.
Which, to be honest, is lame. I had a few friends interested in picking it up, one even purchased the game, because it advertised it's free month of gameplay. They were disappoint to discover that you still have to purchase a subscription at full cost, first. -

Folks have their nostalgia glasses on a little too tight.
No sense in discussing this any further. -
You do realize that the NPCs are there for flavor, to make it more epic and allow the Freedom Phalanx/Longbow/Arachnos a chance to do something in the field, and that you actually do have to fight your own Shivans during a part, right?

Quote:Indeed. If the purpose of a tutorial is to help new players understand the game mechanics, this fails completely.Quote:One thing to remember is that I don't think you can really call this a tutorial anymore. It's more like a hook. It's purpose is to make players want to stick around, to show off just how awesome and crazy this game can get. To provide players a taste of the kind of experience they'll be getting if they choose to continue playing.
In terms of actually learning the game, the Devs went a much smarter route and, instead of cramming an entire game's worth of knowledge in between the two shortest levels, they instead spread it out over the course of story arcs that immerse your character in the lore, provide a fun and interesting story and gameplay, and ensure you're not overloaded with knowledge. -

Quote:That is a terrible example. It's more like if you have friends that say Grape Soda tastes gross, you should still try it first before passing judgement because you might actually like it.well if 100 people around you grab the kool aid and drink and they all die are you going to try the kool aid?
And if it's been years, then you might want to give 'em another shot. They've had slight tweaks since then. But the purpose of Kheldians was to be able to fill the holes on a team and flesh it out. If they need damage, switch to Nova. A tank? Go to Dwarf. Etc. etc. They assist the team in other ways aside from just giving off a few leadership buffs, and the bigger the team the stronger the Kheld is. -
New tutorial's gonna do a far better job of hooking people on CoH than the old ones will. Although I will kinda miss Breakout. But not Outbreak. That one was just horribly boring and I never liked it.

If you've never really played one, how can you not like them and want them to get revamped?
-
Check the I21 beta forums. Kheldians get updated. You'll have to see for yourself if you'll like 'em or not.
-
If they fix this bug, they really should allow folks the ability to change their cape's color as well. Just tossin' that out there.
-
Sometimes they honestly don't show up. I've done the mission a few times on different computers, and only once did they appear. The times I didn't see them, I went out of my way to search for them. Looked all over the map. They just weren't there.

I agree that the graphics of powers tend to cover damn near everything, making it impossible to see the area around where your attacking at times. Doesn't mean art updates are unnecessary, though.

Judging from the Incarnate Content being only three (soon to be four) raids we need to run over and over again if we ever want all those rewards, I'd think some of the devs are just fine with farming.
As long as the farm's not taking an advantage of exploits or breaking any rules, I doubt they could care less about it. -
Quote:That's cool and all, but that's just your character. Some characters have multiple sources of power, all of which are what make them a hero. You can't just pick and choose one and say "Nope, that's the only thing that defines them." If you have a Fire/Devices blaster, the fire being from a Mutation and the devices being from Technology expertise, both of which are large parts of the character, then that's where the dual origin concept would come in.The origin, as it is, is the answer to the question "How did you get the powers that made you a hero?"
His Captain Photon would probably not be a hero if he did not have energy blasts. If those energy blasts came from a mutation, then that mutation is what made him a hero.
I have a Sonic/Devices blaster, who is mutation origin. The devices were an add on to his already present mutant ability, and his mutant ability is what makes him a hero. The Devices part of it is pretty much irrelevant in terms of what his origin is. He also flies via a pair of rocket boots. And he has a techy device that allows him to use electricity (Mu Mastery in this case). None of those things change the fact that he is a hero because he has the mutant ability to project powerful sound waves. -
Either your friend is in the Closed Beta, or he's mistaking the Beta server with the Test server. The Beta server shouldn't be open to subscribing players until "4:00 p.m. PDT ( 7:00 p.m. EDT / 12:00 a.m. BST / 1:00 CEST) on August 9".
More info can be found here.
