DS was changed to purposely disallow Dam Enhancements. And in order to enforce a no-sneaking-in-Damage-from-other-sources, it's two damaging attacks were made immune to Damage Boosts.
Actually, when you were able to sneak in Damage to DS, it only affected Tentacles and not Chill of the Night. Now Tentacles is immune, too. -
Who are you and what have you done with Venture?!
Quote:If anything, Penelope is the Mary Sue - Most powerful, special relationship with existing characters, focal point for much of the Praetorian stuff. She's been simultaneously put on a pedestal and shoved down our throats since the moment she showed up.
So... there's nothing Mary Sue-ish about her at all. -

In I22, there are two new mid-level arcs that give badges that Heroes can't run. So, have to switch sides to do them and get the badges.

Quote:I'm guessing the Devs targeted Statesman and Psyche because they were the two "BEST IN ALL THE UNIVERSE" at being invulnerable and being telepathic. It just so happens that they are Emmert's creations, and it probably says something about Emmert that he made these two Mary Sues. But I'm guessing it's because how he made them than the fact that he made them which made them prime targets.Don't really see it as "We're killing off Jack's characters!" so much as doing some much needed house-cleaning. From a storytelling point of view, a sundered Phalanx gives a lot more options than us all being a bunch of B-listers while they are apparently Earth's greatest heroes... who do very little.
Because if the player is the star of the story and winds up being the BEST IN THE UNIVERSE, then those two could not have survived. -
Quote:We got those already. For all you badge hunters you do know that there is badges associated with vigilant and rogue tip missions don't you? You'd skip em going the instant route so...
When a new Issue comes out, we have to go the round robin of morality each time to get the badges that are exclusively on the other side.
But, I've already turned my Hero into a Vigilante in anticipation of the next Issue.
I could possibly see a Premium, who doesn't have access to Going Rogue Morality System paying $10 for a one-time switchover. But I don't know who else would pay $10 because they couldn't wait 2 days. -
We should assume that simply knocking Psyche out isn't going to stop the psychic bomb from going off, but rather accelerate it. Her consciousness and will power is the only thing stopping it from going off as long as her brain is working.

Quote:There's no reason (the real) Aurora couldn't take it over. The days are long gone when, mechanically, contacts could only do one thing at a time (train you or give you a TF, not both).Well I figured States was the big death but not the only death. If anyone perishes in part 7 then it gets too trivial. Of course there is still the question of Who Will Stay Dead ?
States is set to be purged from the majority of the game with ish 23, will Sis Psyche TF get renamed now?
Sister also appears twice in the LRSF and States once... wonder what they're going to do with that. -
I use it especially because I wonder "am I on Beta or Live right now?" Especially when I have both open and switching back and forth.

Thought we could use a thread about SSA6 that wasn't about "it's here" or "and other stuff on the market" or "and new powersets" but just about *the story* and the big reveal.
Sister Psyche is dead.
So... Who Will Die? Isn't just about Statesman, but about Sister Psyche, too. And who knows... maybe more. Characters in and out of the Freedom Phalanx are now dead. More to come? -
A Hellion in City Hall was one of my favorite bed time stories.

I hope they reduce the duration to something more reasonable like 19 and a half hours.

What makes MMs particularly more 'decimating' with more of its kind is that their secondary is full of the same kind of buffs and debuffs that Defenders have (in addition to have some controls and the buffs and controls the pets have). Then you apply that to over 70 pets who are now running around with capped stats. So, you have 8 capped defenders v. 80 capped critters. I think I know who wins in the damage department.
-
That conclusion was redname confirmed in Beta.
-
Just move your gamma slider more to the left.
-
Yeah, Boosters work best on IOs that have not hit the highest ED reductions yet.
So, e.g., if you had a Purple set where the Range was just in two of the IOs of the Set and the total Range enhancement is not in the greatest Diminishing Return bracket, then those are the two to Boost if you want more Range. -

I updated my Enhancement Spreadsheet with a Premium column.
However, does anyone know if a Premium account without IO access is able to apply a Booster to their non-working IOs?
And can a Premium account without IO access use a Converter (on Beta only for now) on their non-working IOs? -
Quote:You mean this? (Note that this is all pre-I21 info and is in need of updating.)Our Very own Zombie Man made a list of what still needs to be proliferated...
Quote:Here is a spreadsheet of powersets as they will be in Issue 21.
To read the sheet, go by columns. Take for example the Melee Powersets in the first column. There are 18 different Melee Powersets. Tankers and Scrappers have access to 13 of them; Stalkers, 11; and Brutes 14.
Still going down, you see that Scrapper and Brutes have access to Katana. Tankers only have access to Ice Melee. And so on.
Yellow highlights are the I21 Proliferation 3.0 Powersets. The salmon highlights are the new powersets in I21.
So, what's left to proliferate?

Proliferation of Concepts
If you take a look as this spreadsheet, it shows what type of powers, conceptually, have been proliferated into different powerset categories.
So, take a look, for example, at Fire in the first row. Fire (or 'Thermal') is represented in every powerset category. So that means you can have a Fire/Fire Anything AT, right? Not so fast. It won't be until Issue 21 that Fire Blast will be proliferated to Defenders. So, until then, you can't have a Fire/Thermal Defender.
But once everything is proliferated to every set, then that means you can have a PowerTypeX/PowerTypeX Anything AT, right? Not so fast. Even if all powersets are proliferated to all ATs, there are still some gaps in proliferating the Conceptual Power Type to every Powerset Category. So, for example, there is no Dark Control nor Dark Assault. This means you can't have a Dark/Dark Controller or Dominator.
Now, some concepts just don't make sense to be in every Powerset Category. There will be no War Mace Control Set or Dual Pistols Melee (and just because you can conceive of it cartoonishly happening, doesn't mean it's justifiable).
But the gaps in the spreadsheet show where future *new* powersets can go by extending the concepts of some Powerset Categories to other Categories. The obvious gaps are:
Electricity:
- Buff
Energy:
- Control
- Buff
Radiation:
- Control
- Melee
- Defense
Dark:
- Control
- Support
Archery:
- Control
- Assault/Support (mixed with Traps/Devices)
Spines:
- Ranged
Storm:
- Control
- Ranged
- Assault/Support
Plant:
- Summoning
- Buff
Illusion:
- Summoning
- Buff
Time:
- Control
Gravity:
- Buff
Stone/Earth:
- Summoning
- Ranged
- Buff
Mechanical:
- Power Gloves/Arms Melee (toons limited to armored hands/arms)
- Armor Defense (toons limited to armor costumes)
- Traps/Devices/Miniature Robotics Control
Shields:
- Assault/Support
Blasting Melee Weapon:
- Like the Arachnos Mace a weapon that can be swung in melee and shoots stuff. This would be a forced-paired Ranged and Assault/Support set for Blasters and Dominators (no redraw!). There could be versions of Fist Blades, Swords, Maces, Axes, Bayonettes, etc....
-
Or use a phase power like the ones you can get from PvP zone patrols or the crafted Ethereal Shift which is dirt cheap in the Consignment House.
-
Whatever was nerfed with rezzers can be made up for by increasing difficulty level for bigger or higher level spawns.
-
The End Game content's 'get-stuff' is also an alternate leveling system. Rather than just tack on another 10 levels, there is Incarnate content that levels you up by what you get from it.
So, in reality, levels 1-49 was also 'get-stuff' because you had to do that content to level up which gave you XP and thus access to more powers. Incarnate content gives you the components to access more powers. Pre-Incarnate gives you XP. -
Enhancement Converters are purposely not in the Super Packs. They will be available in-game in I22.
