Question on Inventions
So I dropped my VIP status because I felt I wasn't playing the game enough to warrant it. I still pop back in to run my chars through a mission and since I can't access enhancements due to lack of invention licence, I usually stop there.
What I don't get is since I don't have to licence, everytime I try to play my characters they feel gimped like the enhancements arn't working. I notice the procs still work though. MY question is, if you go VIP to premium with enhancments still in your char do they quite working? |
AS I understand it, you can't use invention origin stuff if you aren't VIP or Premium 'enough'. IE, have earned the right level of reward. I believe you can just buy access to the invention system, tho, so that may be the way to go, if that is indeed true (and I don't vouch for it's veracity, as I've never tested it myself).
There is the invention license and the auction house license. They last 30 days.
They can be purchased with points on the Paragon Market... I think something like 400 points each?

Actual IOs should not work if you are premium and don't have an inventions license (either bought or perma) - no matter if they are "regular" enhancement IOs, or globals/procs.
you can go to a trainer and switch to an alternate build and fill that with SOs until you go back to VIP.

I wonder, to attuned IOs work without a license?
Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
To the OP, may I suggest going to a trainer and using a second 'build' of your character. That'll let you re-slot your powers for SOs instead of whatever IOs you might have slotted without flat out removing the IOs from your old build. That way if you ever decide to pay for a subscription again they'll be there.

I updated my Enhancement Spreadsheet with a Premium column.
However, does anyone know if a Premium account without IO access is able to apply a Booster to their non-working IOs?
And can a Premium account without IO access use a Converter (on Beta only for now) on their non-working IOs?
