Very nice - consistent use of a theme and color scheme!
I love the "mood" of the base.
You *have* sent this to EnnVee for the Scoop, right? -
I already have a pet. Some of my characters have pet MechMen, baby demons, tiny fairies, baby Oscillators, etc. Not to mention my Controllers have pets.
But what purpose would be served to have the Devs create entirely new skeletons - yes, that's plural skeletons, since dog skeletons don't look like bear skeletons or cat skeletons, let alone a penguin - in order to have some vanity thing to follow your character around. Better to use the time elsewhere making stuff that would be used by more people and would have more effect on the gameplay. -

Mine is a more simple understanding of the archetypes:
Heroes: Attack bad guys.
Villains: Attack bad guys and good guys.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats sounds like my way of playing the game. Anything in front of me is going to get hit till it drops then find another.
[/ QUOTE ]
Works for me. If I'm playing something that can debuff it first, so be it - debuff, then hit it. Otherwise, "Charge". Or be sneaky and shoot it around the corner. Or shoot it around the corner and then "Charge". -

I think an in game channel where players can answer player questions is sufficient. /hc for Help Channel already exists for this purpose.

As well as some of the specialized Globals like TheMarket & BaseBuildersInc.
OP, can you tell us a good reason "Why?" I haven't seen any need for people in addition to the current GM/CS staff to handle issues for the game.
Oh, and the GMs & Devs don't really come here and they typically do not respond directly to Suggestions from this thread. -
Fire/Ice. Damage with abit of control with the slows and Ice Patch.
I also like Energy/Electric a lot. /Electric KBs even more than /Energy (at least it seems to for me). -

I have been stockpiling a few quick questions about base building that I need to get answers to. I searched around, however I was not able to find answers.
1) Some rooms I have seen, seem to be much larger than I am able to make them. Such as in this thread. The second post containing links to the different images of the rings seem to be in a gigantic room. Not only does it look larger than the Great Room (The largest room that I can find in game) but it also looks taller. Are my eyes just deceiving me, or is there a way to create an enormous room like that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, can't help you with this one, I never tried for a ginormous room.
[ QUOTE ]
2) I am trying to label enhancement storage bins. I know that I can place something that has the supergroup emblem on it (In this case a letter) than change it, and place it again and again until I spell out words. Also in that post this picture shows what I am talking about in the back ground. There are atleast five different symbols on banners in the back ground. How does one do that though?
[/ QUOTE ]
You seem to be halfway there.
Each banner can only be used once - you have multiple Medium Arcane, Medium Tech, etc. Change your SG symbol to whatever you want it to be, place one of the banners (Med Arcane 1, for example). Then change the SG symbol again and place the next banner (Medium Arcane 2 or maybe Medium Tech 1) and place it. If you goof up and re-use one of the banners you have already placed - the SG symbol will change to the new symbol, so be careful to keep track of which banners you have use.
[ QUOTE ]
3) How do you change the lighting in a room? Before I took over the base building for the Super Group I am in, someone made a room and tinted it so that its a dark red. I'm afraid I don't have a picture though. I can't, for the life of me, figure out how he did it. He can't remember how he did it either so I am at a loss.
[/ QUOTE ]
In the base editing interface, there is the disply box that show the stats for the room itself (while your cursor/highlight is placed in that room). That display box has tabs, one of which is "Lighting", which will bring up spectrum bars you can use to change the lighting in the high, middle and low parts of the room.
Also, tinting the wall, ceiling and floor sections will add to the color of the room. You can change those in the "Pick Style" part of the editor. The same spectrum bars used in the room lighting tab show up to color the room sections.

Any and all help is greatly appretiated!

Also, join the Global "BaseBuildersInc." (note the ".") people on that channel are always happy to answer questions while you are working on the base. -
I'm hoping that you aren't expecting to get a level with every mission you take at level 44?
Soloing a blaster (or really most ATs) tend to slow down in the higher levels because (even after level smoothing) the progression between levels isn't a straight line - it's an upward sloping line.
Some good ideas so far to help you find teams, but even then, you won't routinely be getting a level every mission (ar even every arc). -
<QR>
I also try to clear out SG storage by filling up my enhancement slots before doing a respec and selling them back that way. At least you get back crafting costs for all those superfluous level 10 IOs.
Since I have a lot of vetspecs, if I decide to burn one on a relatively poor lowbie, it does give them some cash back - and I just hate to waste them (my grandmother raised me to hate "wasting stuff".) -
[ QUOTE ]
What is the base defense of Focused Fighting? (powerset specific, someone playing a non-SR scrapper would get a different question, and you can get the answer just by opening your enhancement screen)
[/ QUOTE ]
This question actually took me aback a bit.
I have been playing the game for almost 5 years now, and I have at least one /SR scrapper past 30 - but I don't know this answer off the top of my head. I could find it, sure, but the fact that it is being asked means that the person in charge of gating whether I can level up considers hard numbers way more important than I do.
To me that is a fundamental flaw with the idea of testing before allowing a character to level - who decides what are the truly important things to know about the game?
Also, regardfing some of the geography of Paragon City questions - we have some folks who have played literally for years on redside, who may be starting their first character blueside. I know I have seen several suggested paths of the "good" missions on these forums that skip the Hollows, never touch Perez Park, etc. A veteran player from redside may not know which 4 zones have PP gates - but that doesn't mean they can't play the game!
I am not a big fan of "No Child Left Behind" and this idea just smacks of "No Scrapper Left Behind" paternalism to me, sorry. I can't support someone determining what's "the best way to play" for everyone.
Also, as another altoholic mentioned above, this would annoy the heck out of me having to run thru the same cross-examination every time I start a new character. -

I've been going to the City of Heroes wikia for all other questions thus far

I just want to clarify for you - don't use the Wikia version of Paragonwiki - that is not being updated and in fact has been taken over by goldfarmers, I hear.
Use the ParagonWiki located on the CoHTitan website for updated correct (mostly, it is a wiki, after all) answers.

You have Magic, Cyborg and Valkyrie on the same account ?
How did you manage that ?

I imagine he bought all of them.
OP, how tied to the color scheme are you? Yellow just doesn't say "electric" to me. -
<QR>
I highly suggest that anyone gone from the game since before the changes in Issue 13 should read PlasmaStream's Guide to Issue 13 which is stickied to the top of this forum. -
ParagonWiki on Mission Architect
AE = Aeon Entertainment, the fictional creator of Mission Architect in-game.
I'm not sure what else to tell you since you don't have hours to go into details. There are a bajillion threads out there to read and I'm not going to even try to distill them down for you.
Short answer - go dip your toe into the MA building to see if there is stuff you want to do there. There's a tutorial in AP & Mercy to walk you through it.
Or don't, and continue playing original content as before. -
[ QUOTE ]
Ok, my bad, I said Going Rogue but as pointed out, this is an Issue 16 feature. I wasn't thinking carefully and picked the wrong one of the two expansions we're expecting.
And I expect it to be several months before issue 16 goes live because issue 15 just came out, Super Booster III just moved from test to live, so we still have to wait to see when I16 hits test and then again until it moves from test to live. My estimate for that process? "Several" (3-4) months. But I admit it is just an estimate.
[/ QUOTE ]
That sounds like a fair estimate. My only quibble is with using the word "several" to mean 3-4. When I hear several, I think of 6 months or more, but it is a vague word (which is appropriate in this case of speculating when I16 will release ). -
We don't know, however, I would expect to be able to change colors for my powersets the same way I can change costumes.
They haven't explicitly said either way, so if you need an immediate answer, PM a Dev or Community Rep. -
[ QUOTE ]
Seems everyone only wants to try out missions with MAX XP.
I have a fun mission, the xp is okay, but I wanna know how to get Dev choice so I can get drops and people might hit more.
Is it random?

Have you tried advertising it it the MA forums? Or put a blurb in your sig box and post a lot on the forums in general so people can see the blurb and be intrigued enough to try it out.
Just a couple of easy ideas to try to get you more exposure. It seems to me you are looking for more traffic in your MArc, not necessarily Dev's Choice (though that would obviously help ). -

I'm wondering about one thing concerning this.
If I set my difficulty to be a certain number of people, does it mean I can do TFs solo? I realize I can ALREADY do this, but it'd be nice to cut out the steps of inviting and then kicking people.
[/ QUOTE ]
Apparently not, according to this post from Castle (last box in pyramid) in P_P's thread:

That is an awesome option. No more fill requests. I probably can get even level AVs without going Invincible from what it sounds like. That feature may be my favorite.
[/ QUOTE ]
If they let us solo TFs/Trials the smileys will go into overload!
[/ QUOTE ]
Let's not get crazy now!
Seriously, though, to the best of my knowledge we won't be changing minimum sizes of TF's/SF's. The minimum sizes stand as "warning labels" to newer players that these missions are more difficult/time consuming/whatever than other missions. It's a small, but important function.
EDIT: By the way, in the meeting where this feature was proposed I specifically mentioned that "Perfect Pain is going to love this change." Glad to see, at least on first glance, I was right!

The aforementioned Hunt CoT in PP and Hunt Clocks in Boomtown work exactly the same way.
If you get the Talk to Sec Chief mission from one of your 5-1- contacts (Linda Summers, for example) and drop it while standing there with Linda - the Hunt CoT mission automatically comes up.
EG has the correct sequence of what has to happen to actually drop these Security Chief missions.
Now that I think of it, the Hunt Outcasts in Steel Canyon and Hunt Skulls in KR work the same way, so it's not just for hazard zones. -
I'm not sure if I can make it. I will stop by the contact if I can, but I totally understand if the teams are full before then.
I would be bringing either Isotope 165 (41 rad/dark def) or Brighid Frost (35 fire/ice blaster) or Agoniste (36 fire/rad controller). -
In fact, if the arc has been started, you will eventually have to run it for no XP (or drop each mission using mission drop) to clear out space for other arcs, since you have a limited number of arcs open at any given time.
AFAIK, doing the Ouro version of the arc will not clear it from your limit of open arcs. -
Felicitations on the anniversary of your natal day, M_B!
Oh - and here's a question to make it "legal" for this forum:
Who is having a birthday today? -

I'm not entirely sure which archetype I'm going to make into my main, but I do know I really love the option of solo play (which CoH understandably doesn't appear to cater to) for my first main character, which, from what I've gathered means a scrapper of some sort. I'm still wrapping my head around optimal slotting and such, and would -love- to use some build guides (those generated by Mid's and the like may as well be written in binary) as a jumping off point - but I'd hate to start a character built around a strategy that isn't viable because of a change or twelve.
Thanks
Edit - Mid's not Mik's
[/ QUOTE ]
OK - I'm gong to skip down to the point I bolded in your post -
Where did you get the idea that this game doesn't cater to solo play? This game is very solo-friendly, and *ALL* ATs and powersets can solo, just some faster than others.
Scrappers are a good first choice if you like to stand in melee, but blasters or defenders are better if prefer to stay out at range some of the time.
As far as guides go, how dated is too dated really depends upon the guide in question, we can't offer a guideline there.
My best advice would be to head down to the various AT fprums and ask there. I generally lurk in the Blaster forum and I know folks there have a much better handle on things and respond really quickly to any questions about blasters.
For general guides, I would look to Zombie_Man's Guide to Guides, which he keeps updated as new issues release. -

Use "Upgrade Plot".
There are 2 tabs in that interface, one for Hidden & one for Secure.
I really think you have a smallish Hidden Plot. The smaller Secure Plots cost the same as the Hidden ones of the same size, so if can afford the smallest Secure Plot, it's your best bet to get 2 Energy in one Room.
