A Few Base Questions

I have been stockpiling a few quick questions about base building that I need to get answers to. I searched around, however I was not able to find answers.

1) Some rooms I have seen, seem to be much larger than I am able to make them. Such as in this thread. The second post containing links to the different images of the rings seem to be in a gigantic room. Not only does it look larger than the Great Room (The largest room that I can find in game) but it also looks taller. Are my eyes just deceiving me, or is there a way to create an enormous room like that?

2) I am trying to label enhancement storage bins. I know that I can place something that has the supergroup emblem on it (In this case a letter) than change it, and place it again and again until I spell out words. Also in that post this picture shows what I am talking about in the back ground. There are atleast five different symbols on banners in the back ground. How does one do that though?

3) How do you change the lighting in a room? Before I took over the base building for the Super Group I am in, someone made a room and tinted it so that its a dark red. I'm afraid I don't have a picture though. I can't, for the life of me, figure out how he did it. He can't remember how he did it either so I am at a loss.

Any and all help is greatly appretiated!

ah yes, Clydezilla's work. That is an 8X8 room with the ceiling raised and floor lowered. very good example.

banners? sorry, never messed with them. Edit: I chose not to because I thought when Sunstorm was bein all "devvy" it would mess something up---like it did in Q-patrol---- so.. I never bothered to learn how. I'm sure others know.

lighting: be sure to explore the "pick style" you can select the different levels and use different color for each one.

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

Sorry, can't help you with this one, I never tried for a ginormous room.

You seem to be halfway there.

Each banner can only be used once - you have multiple Medium Arcane, Medium Tech, etc. Change your SG symbol to whatever you want it to be, place one of the banners (Med Arcane 1, for example). Then change the SG symbol again and place the next banner (Medium Arcane 2 or maybe Medium Tech 1) and place it. If you goof up and re-use one of the banners you have already placed - the SG symbol will change to the new symbol, so be careful to keep track of which banners you have use.

In the base editing interface, there is the disply box that show the stats for the room itself (while your cursor/highlight is placed in that room). That display box has tabs, one of which is "Lighting", which will bring up spectrum bars you can use to change the lighting in the high, middle and low parts of the room.

Also, tinting the wall, ceiling and floor sections will add to the color of the room. You can change those in the "Pick Style" part of the editor. The same spectrum bars used in the room lighting tab show up to color the room sections.

Also, join the Global "BaseBuildersInc." (note the ".") people on that channel are always happy to answer questions while you are working on the base.

Ginormous rooms are no longer possible.

It was once possible to add side-by-side doorways to adjoiing rooms, creating what looked like double-sized rooms. One of the recent issues nerfed that ability though (which, btw, Devs, isn't it about time we got more options in the doorways?)

Knowing the nerf was coming, some of us placed our "double" doorwars ahead of time...and we get to keep them until we delete them. I'm one such luck person...I placed mine before the nerf.

The downside is design limitations. I can't move any of the rooms that have the double doors unless I am willing to lose those doors. I've already sacrificed several, including a doorwar that was 5 doors wide.

There is no way to make a room taller, other than dropping the floors and raising the ceiling.

Most likely, the person taking hte screenshot was on a small toon that gave a really good "worms-eye-view" as we call it in the comic book industry.

Thanks for the quick responces!

Too bad about the giant room not being able to be formed anymore, but I got the other two things working properly in our base thanks to you guys!
