I don't really think your message is going to reach the people 'causing' the problem.

I'll be honest, redside's problems are legion. Chief among them: Each person is going to have their own reason for why they don't like it.

Some people don't like the tone. Either because they want to be 'their own' villain and not an Arachnos Lackey or the content has them doing things 'their villain' wouldn't do. Or villainy just isn't 'their thing'.

Some people don't like the Rogue isles, from the setting to the environment to the architecture. I'll be honest, every zone being an island does get kind of annoying. (As a note: I have a number of villains).

Some people don't like the content. From my experiences playing between the sides, Redside -is- harder. You run into mobs that use mez earlier, you run into a wider variety of mezzes (ex: Circle of Thorns Succubi Placating you) Or throwing more bosses at you. And elite bosses. -tons- of elite bosses. Blueside, EBs are somewhat rare til you get up there and even then you'll tend to run into them at the end of major arcs. Blueside... I think you've got Frostfire and Nocturne, both totally missable/skippable.

Some people don't like the fact that villains rarely get to 'win'. You stole that magical artifact of infinite power? Oh it breaks after 20 minutes of use. Robbed that bank? 1,000 inf. Killed the hero? No not really, just beat them up or they're some pointless no name c-lister. Discovered the ancient ritual of ultimate power? Oh it would suck your soul if you used it, sorry. Most of a villain's victories are over other villains or they're minor or there's some caveat that upends it. Heroes can always feel good in what they do.

Some feel there's a lack of content, for instance missing strike forces at the 10-15 and 30-35 range. And some don't like the locked contacts.

Some people only played it because they wanted the ATs, which Praetoria, side switching and then Freedom has obviously changed.

And others. I'm sure some feel the low population is a problem too. Everyone has their own reason for it, whether its valid or not. It's all subjective.

Flattery will get you everywhere. Except there.
  2. five to TEN times?

    ....nnnnno. No.

To date, there aren't any particular chokepoints in this trial where failure is highly possibly. They're still tweaking things, but even adding a level bump to the trifecta phase hasn't done much to stop a whole herd of 50+3 from steamrolling it. Even if you somehow manage to fail it at the end, you don't get extra iXP from completing a trial, the iXP is earned from killing everything through the trial.

At worst, if you perhaps have a crash and miss out on a big chunk of the trial, maybe you'll need to run it a 6th time. But 10? No, that's almost certainly out of the question.
  3. Yeah a lot of the costume stuff is due to technical limitations or it's in the works.

As for secret identities, the usual logic is that if you want to roleplay a secret identity you're free to make a 'normal civilian' costume you can use costume emotes to change into your Superhero persona. Adding more like what you're proposing would involve committing time, money, and personnel to developing a system that would be ultimately optional at this point.

As for the 'signature villains' ala Joker, Luthor, etc. Almost every villain group has a signature Archvillain that leads it. It's mostly just that you don't start running into them until later in the game. There are some 'low' villains that come into focus depending on the arc, but once you start getting into the 30's and on you'll start learning about some of the major players in the story like the Countess Crey that runs the Crey Corporation, the Prussian Prince of Automatons and master planner and manipulator Nemesis, Vanessa DeVore that runs the Carnival of Shadows, The monstrous Hamidon that controls the Devouring Earth, the 'mirror universe' counterparts to the Freedom Phalanx that rule over the alternate world of Praetoria lead by Statesman's counterpart, Tyrant. And there are others, like Recluse and his subordinates.
  4. I'm... so.. is this thread just to be confrontational? I'm not sure what you're hoping for except people going "Yup" or "nope" or "The REAL Reason redside is dead is..".

Hm, thought that had been fixed last patch. Still, I expect there's going to be at least 1 more beta patch before the release.
  6. Yeah because that premature slip up wouldn't be because they're planning to release the issue and they corrected it to not tip off people or anything.

The issue, sans Hybrid, is pretty much done. There haven't been any glaring issues with the costumes (that haven't been fixed) No problems with Nightward. They're still fixing the personal mission in the new incarnate arc. The Magisterium trial is pretty much done save some tweaking. They're decided on what to do with the STF and won't be switching Babs around in Atlas til a later issue.

That's pretty much I23. Updates on beta are growing fewer and farther between, just like I22. And there's no Power sets to hold up anything.

I think we're going to see a patch this thursday or next thursday on beta then the following Tuesday the issue will launch.

After that they'll probably throw the three announced power sets onto the beta and switch it over to I24 in a month or two.

And hey if I'm right, new shinies! if not, oh well, more waiting!
  7. the event seems to trigger every few hours (3-4 or so)
  8. Yeah I predict I23 will be launching within 1-2 weeks.

No, it's still ongoing. The event triggers every few hours. Just hang out in game for a bit, you'll get zone event messages when it starts up.

Nothing all that amazing though, it looks like any standard iTrial, tons of players bunched together beating the snot out of anything that moves until Nemesis shows up as a Giant Monster (he just cons as one. He's still Nemesis)

    Event Fail

It seems to spawn every few hours, I think -on- the hour but I'm not 100% certain. It will then proceed to chain along zones. Th eone I was in had one in Talos, then another in King's Row, Skyway, then Steel Canyon.

it's nothing more than a standard group kill. Get on a team everyone bucnh up, buff, and beat the snot out of anything that comes your way. The spawns come in waves of lesser pleebs, Warhulks and Fake Nemeses bosses, Nemesis? Elite Bosses, until the big man himself shows up as a Giant Monster. There's a badge for taking him down (A Nemesis Plot). Though the event doesn't stop once he's taken down, the waves will start to repeat, though so far it seems like he'll only spawn once.

I do agree a bit though. We got the teaser fiction which made it sound like it was happening Saturday, then Zwill had to clarify it was tuesday, but nothing was announced like what it was for the praetorian invasions.
  11. And don't you talk to the repeatables first and -they- introduce you to heather?
  12. it's an okay event. Got into one in Talos, immediately alted and jumped into one that had gone into King's Row.

It's not bad, just basic. You fight off the standard pleebs, some Nemesis? elite bosses show up, a wave of War Hulks, eventually the big man himself pops up as a Giant Monster. After that the spawns all repeat, except it doesn't seem like Nemesis spawns again.

The invasions come in semi-quick successions. It seems like he'll pick a side then spam about 3-4 different zones one after the other. For us it was Talos, then King's Row, then Skyway, then Steel.

My only potential complaint about this is that if it is intended to run all month, it's going to be a pain running Numina's as the WST.

Edit: Haha, they changed the WST. Love them. <3
  13. yeah you're in no way locked into your choice. if you want something else, build another.
  14. Sadly, you'll never see Hesh, Katie, or Cavern of Transcendance as Weekly Task Forces because they're all locked behind arcs.

Also, they've done Positron before, if you'll just glance up my list, and he was paired with Tarikoss. Understandably, they're hesitant to make Synapse the WST because it's such an awful pain.

By the sound of it, it's not just going to be a one day thing. They didn't want to do a server by server thing like the praetorian invasion with the seeds because it was kinda killer on the staff. So I'm guessing they automated the process a bit more and just gave it a set amount of time to run. Like a holiday event.

    That's my guess anyway

If I understand it, when you activate it you get the normal boost and it awards you a temp power you can use on someone else to get the same boost. So you get one and you get one you can pass on to a friend
  17. LOL. A double post. Let's assume the other one gets locked. So:

I think it's more indicative that there's just a problem with whoever is choosing the targets. Redside may be sick of Mistral, but blueside is getting pretty tired of alternating Numina/Eden all the time too.

There are tons of different task forces and strikes forces to use. Why we keep getting the same 35-40 batch again and again and again is absolutely mind boggling.

Where's the ITF? Where's Lady Grey? Heck, Dr. Kahn/Barracuda and Statesman/Recluse! Why not Sister Psyche and Silver Mantis?

Even if we don't have a 30-35 Strike force, we've got -tons of other pairings they could use-. They don't have to keep repeating the eden/Mistral Numina/Mistral pairing.

Edit: Just for fun, here is the number of times the different taskforces have been chosen in the past year along with dates for when they were last chosen -

    Eden/Ice Mistral - 5 [May 2012]
    Numina/Ice Mistral - 6 [May 2012]
    Statesman/Recluse - 3 [February 2012]
    Apex - 3 [February 2012]
    Tin Mage - 4 [May 2012]
    Lady Grey - 1 [August 2011]
    Imperious - 3 [January 2012]
    Admr Sutter/Mortimer kal - 6 [March 2012]
    Manticore/Renault - 5 [May 2012]
    Moonfire/Renault -3 [March 2012]
    Dr. Kahn/Barracuda - 3 [February 2012]
    Psyche/Silver Mantis - 2 [August 2011]
    Positron/Tarikoss - 3 [August 2011]

So yeah, Ice Mistral has been run 11 times in the past year. Renault has been 8. Lady grey hasn't been run since August, along with Positron/Tarikoss and Psyche/Mantis.

Pscyhe, at least, -right now-, I can understand. Her TF is an awful slog. But once it switches over to Penny Yin it ought to return to the rotation regularly.

Anyway, just some food for thought.
  18. I think it's more indicative that there's just a problem with whoever is choosing the targets. Redside may be sick of Mistral, but blueside is getting pretty tired of alternating Numina/Eden all the time too.

  19. I'll second that notion, I'd like to see the compiled results for the ranking stuff and most liked iTrial etc.
  20. Don't have a suggestion as I'm going to hit that crossroads soon m'self with my Elec/Devices blaster.

I can answer the other question though. If you choose a power from an Ancillary power pool you won't be able to choose anything from the patrons once you unlock them, unless you use a respec (Which means you'll be able to re-choose that power at the 35 mark as a patron power).

I think the general thought though is the Defense shields in Mace Mastery and Cold Mastery serve better than the Resist shields found in all the others because it's easier to build defense with IO sets. Though not sure how easy that is for blasters
  21. yeah there's only so many immob and targeted aoe sets and only so many damage procs between those two groups.
