    Brutes as Tanks

Any Brutes can tank, providing they know what they're doing and their group does too.

Probably the best thing I found in Villains is a combo of You (Brute) with a Kinetics Corruptor, and Thermal as a Main-Healer too if you need it. Kinetics should keep Taunt and AOEs up enough and Thermal will greatly increase your damage resistance.
  2. Imo, Storm has to be just something you try out before making a build. Many people have different opinions on how to slot certain powers. For a list on my opinions and slotting techniques on storm, go here

One quick side note though, just for tesla cage, I think all S/T Holds should be 2acc/2hold/2recharge :P

    Ice Patch + Burn

    [ QUOTE ]
They would run away.. but its hard when they keep falling over Ice Patch + Burn ftw

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, it was a very common build for Dreckers when Fire/Fire tanks had lost some of their "umph" in that particular area. However, Fire Aura is meant for high damage output, and Ice Melee isn't...

Although the Ice Patch does help to some extent, it's probably best for keeping you alive, rather than keeping enemies dead.

And IIRC Globe, you HATE you Fire/Ice Tank
  4. Well to be honest, stealth isn't very necessary, and I don't yet have it on my Claws/Nin Stalker (will get at lvl 30...). If you decide to get Superjump you can Build Up, land next to your target, and fire off your AS and follow up without them being able to interrupt you in time, even if they can see you perfectly.
  5. Well I have currently gone for Flight as well, in order to AS everyone in PvP. However, this means you lack [proper] KB resistance, but it shouldn't really matter too much, as (from what my character's KBs do) knockbacks in PvP don't stack (as in, Repel doesn't KB every tick) and unless against someone particularly slotted for Stalker killing, you shouldn't be hit much either.
  6. Well, I rolled a Nin/Regen a while ago, but deleted when they reached lvl 32. This is mainly due to the fact that regen seems like a real gimp on stalkers compared to that on scrappers.

However, saying this, on my Blaster, and in RV (where most toons are perfectly well rounded), a Defence based stalker is pretty useless unless using Elude/Retsu/Overload etc, as the defence is very easily broken, and Regen takes a lot longer to kill.

I have recently rerolled my Stalker as Claws/Nin for a Pv[Bi] build, as I didn't want to go with the FotM EM/Regen :P. It is working out brilliantly in PvE, solo and in teams, and I can see how it will triumph in PvP, also. The only thing that SR has over Nin is the res to slow, the +speed/recharge, and an extra 5% Defence or So. Ninjitsu, although lacking in KB Protection, comes with a heal, and many useful tools (Extra placate, sleep/to hit debuff).
  7. depends... there's always something that is "Rock" to your "Scissors".

/Fire is a very good one for high health enemies, as you get Fiery Embrace (Think it's an extra 100% damage, so with build up you're getting 200%- more than blasters) And Supertrength has perma-rage making it less easy to kill in an ambush.

I know my Blaster/Corruptor fears Energy/* Brutes more than SS however, as the stuns really turn the tide in all fights, I believe Energy Melee is even very effective for stunning Elec Armour brutes.

From what I've seen (no actual experience here) Elec Melee is quite poor in PvP, but still better than the Multi-Enemy based Fire.

DM lacks fury build up, but in PvP that is very rarely useful, and ToF is fantastic- especially in RV against FotM Blappers (detoggles PFF).

The Energy Auras seem to be very poor in anywhere below WB, as the only "godsend" power is Overload. Therefore, good for ambush tactics.

Invul has very good resistance against S/L, but lacks in most other areas. Although it gets Dull pain, I believe Elec Armour has around 15% less S/L Resistance, and way more heat/energy resistance- as well as getting CP & the energy drain move, making them difficult to drain endurance/run out of endurance in a long fight.

All in all, don't make a Fire/*, and probably best not to go for Elec/* either.

I have currently rolled an EM/Elec brute, PvBi. However, Dark Graventite did something I find very interesting in making his Stone (very end hungry)/Elec brute, which is very good in RV, with no endurance problems.

All depends which way you want to swing.

    Boredom

Boredom has caused me to swap back to villains for a bit. However, I find the lack of players annoying. Therefore, I would like to make a solo character. I would rather not make a Stalker, and I have a Fire/Kinetics corruptor. What overall would be the best XP Machine (just getting missions done quickly) That would be easy and fun? I am tearing my hair out trying to decide, and hopefull this toon could be the one that stops me swapping to 100% WoW...
  10. Yeah, big grats to CQ Bring on the cosmics! I see you persuaded him against him making the Peacebringer then Shny?
  11. Sure, I'm up for that. Count me in.
  12. Grats mate Well done. Sorry I had to log like 5 minutes before the ding, but yaknow...

(Don't go to the dark side! It's for teh suxx!)

Big grats Al Gore Maybe we can start a new team with your well earned PB now.

    No Stam SR Build

Well I guess you may as well try SOMEthing new, with the amount of times Cold Core owned Slash :P

I always think you should never put more than 3 of the same slots in any power tbh... I would put 3 defences in all shields, and 3 recharge reds in Elude... I think you should also get hasten, or put some recharges in powers, unless you're planning to be one of those stalkers that only attacks squishies.
  15. Well tbh I don't really like tough on Squishies, even if they do get their mastery/patron shield...

I think leadership is a must on Kinetics, especially after you have Transference.

With leadership and 1/2 Accs in attacks, you rarely ever miss, and if you still do you can always 3dam/2acc/1rch- slots are very flexible with kinetics. I think that's how I'd slot for PvP, and it should be quite consistent on a mainly S/T set like Ice.
  16. On my Fire/Kin Corruptor I tried TP, IR, and Fly. I have to say, Fly is definetley my favourite so far.

Although IR is good if you're pushed for power spaces, I just don't like the sensitivity of it: It's more like CJ than SJ, and I just found it too hard to control.

With TP, I thought it was a waste of Siphon Speed, so I decided to do a Test-Spec into Fly.

With Siphon, you reach Fly's cap. I love it! Fly is the safest, and easiest way to travel, even if it is arguably the slowest. Another reason fly owns, is Hover as the follow up power. Although I normally hate it, it helps a lot to supress 3 siphon speeds in a mission

I think because we are waiting with baited breath for the mass ranger ding. Once that is done, there should be lots of new blasters at the lower levels, and other shenanigans!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Speaking of which, what's the latest on when this is likely?

Terra's having big problems with work schedules and several others are fast approaching the point where we could wait for them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Accy is still working things out on the 1at Forums I believe.

    Nuke slotting

Nukes aren't as simple on Corruptors as they are on Defenders/Blasters.

On Blasters, a Nuke is imo always worth it. Blasters only really have themselves to look out for, so having no endurance for a while shouldn't really matter if 99% if the mob is down.

On Defenders, I believe that on anything other than Kinetics, Nukes are a nono, other than the Psi one (which I believe doesn't drain/stop recovery?). The damage isn't always enough (except on Kinetics) to kill most things, and when you have nuked you won't have endurance to keep on carrying the fight along (except on Kinetics).

On my Corruptor (Fire/Kinetics) I am an Inferno junkie tbh. If there's a mob of +10s, Inferno. A Hero, Inferno. A lone lvl 1, Inferno. On Kinetics, you have a hell of a lot of damage with FS, and can get your end back with a blue and Transference, thus still helping your team against anything you didn't kill.

With Dark/*, you have no Aim, so you should definetley put 1/2 Accs in it, and Leadership always helps. If you plan to be using it quite often, go 1/2 Recharge. I don't believe a nuke should be slotted with anything below 3 Damage.

If you are Dark/Kin, go 3dam/1acc/2rech. If you are support, and plan to use as a last resort, 3dam/1acc/2tohitdebuff- as the debuff is quite large.
  20. Sorry, I know you have a D3, and a Rad/Kin, but where does Dark/Kin // Kin/Dark come into this?

IMO, you should get a Travel power, even if you are to respec it out at IR.

Stamina, especially for m playing style, is a necessity. It means you can spam whatever you like, even under endurance drain.

For Travel powers, I would recommend Fly: Fly stacks with Siphon Speed, and Hover is a great way to surpress the uncontrollable speed of stacled Siphon.

    Leaving?

Hope to see you back in game soon. I'd be glad to help with some donations when I can earn some more money (skint atm), gimme a bell @Chi.
  22. Well, that's my opinion, but I don't want to make Spines/Regen the new FoTM! Oh, <bleep>
  23. You don't need 3 accs in your pets with Tactics, maybe enhance for secondary effects and have 3 dam 2 acc?
  24. Loving the new layout! Very slick.
